Current Status: The status of the Yvonne Universe is that she is Full of Joy and Spirit, the current Status of myself is that I am grateful for all that is awarded such as my title.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Can you share a bit about who you are? Like, what are your passions outside of the pageant world?
I am an Author breaking into the world with her first book to connect others so that they may read my story and not feel alone. I am enthusiastic at working in Public Service as I am passionate about helping my community. I am a A Daughter, a Sister, Friend and Partner to those who I feel so deeply and compassionate about. I am a Model whose sole purpose is to have the next generation look at me and believe and know they too can achieve all they want in this life.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I’m curious about your education journey. What's it been like for you, any particular highlights or challenges?
It has been a road with opportunities but not without challenges and thorns on the path, I was given a golden ticket to come to Australia at 12 and it was an overnight culture shock. It wasn’t always easy to find kindness in school early on but later in high school I found true friendships, encouragement in teachers and tutors. Home life was never easy, in fact it was hard but school and my education was my escape to find a better and safer life for myself and I did.
I was bullied quite a lot in Primary school as well as early high school, I felt alone so many times being in a country where English is not my first language and the culture is very different, kids could be cruel, they would not touch me, shake my hand and always picked last for group or team activities. I cried a lot when I got home, I was so angry. And at home things were never easy.I didn’t live with my parents but with relatives as mum and dad were back home in Zimbabwe and I was made to feel like a second class citizen both at home and school, there was no escape.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Women's empowerment is such a key topic. What does it mean to you personally?
As a woman from Zimbabwe, where women’s rights aren’t always highlighted, women’s empowerment means even more to me. It’s about giving women the freedom and support to define their own paths, make their own choices, and pursue their dreams, despite the barriers society might place in their way. Growing up in a country where gender inequality still exists in many spaces, I’ve come to understand the importance of not just personal success, but collective progress. Empowerment is about lifting each other up, creating opportunities, and advocating for equality, especially for those whose voices have been silenced. It’s about recognising our strengths and overcoming challenges, building communities where women support one another, share knowledge, and work together to create change.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How did you get into pageants? What sparked your interest initially?
Ever since I was six years old, I’ve had this dream of being part of something bigger, something that allows me to express myself, build confidence, and create a platform for others to do the same. My interest in pageantry grew because I saw it as a way to fulfil that dream. It offered me a chance to showcase more than just beauty. It gave me a platform to advocate for causes I care about and inspire others to believe in their own potential, especially young girls who may see me and think, "I can do that too."
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What motivated you to participate in your first pageant? Was there a defining moment?
The motivation to participate in my first pageant was deeply rooted in a dream I had as a six-year-old. There wasn’t a single defining moment, but rather a slow-burning passion to follow through on that childhood dream. I wanted to prove to myself that I could break boundaries and push beyond what was expected. The thought of using this platform to inspire others, especially young girls who might not have seen someone like them represented, was a key driving force.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Why did you choose to compete for your current title? What made it stand out for you?
I chose to compete for my current title because it aligned perfectly with that dream I had when I was six. This title stood out to me because it’s not just about the crown; it’s about creating impact and having a platform to empower others. What resonated with me the most was the focus on leadership and community engagement. I wanted to be part of something that encouraged personal growth, but also uplifted others and helped them believe in their own worth, just like I had dreamed of when I was younger.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I'd love to know more about your pageant system. Could you explain what it’s all about?
Premier Elite Pageants is so much more than the competition it’s about leadership, advocacy, and personal development. It’s a space where women come together to inspire, empower, and grow. It’s a sisterhood that encourages girls and women to use their platform and presence to drive meaningful change, whether through community service or by promoting causes they believe in. For me, it’s about more than winning a title, it's about being part of a movement that celebrates growth and empowers others to strive and have courage to dream and achieve all that they desire.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What do you think sets your pageant director apart from others?
Renata is not just a pageant director; she’s a beautiful soul who genuinely believes in the potential of every individual she works with. What sets her apart is her extraordinary level of care and commitment. She doesn't just focus on the surface; she takes time to nurture us holistically. Whether it's ensuring our mental well-being, supporting us through challenges, or meticulously helping with costumes, Renata is there every step of the way. She provides a level of personal attention and dedication I’ve never seen before. Her belief in us, combined with her tireless work ethic and kindness, creates an environment where we feel truly valued. She isn’t just about preparing us for a pageant, she's about preparing us for life. Her passion for seeing others succeed is evident in everything she does, and it’s that deep commitment that makes her stand out as a director and as a person.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: During competitions, what are the key things you're judged on?
During competitions, we’re judged on several aspects that go beyond just appearance. One of the key areas is stage presence, how confidently and gracefully we present ourselves. Judges also look at poise and elegance, making sure we carry ourselves with confidence and professionalism at all times. Another important aspect is interviewing skills, as this is where we can showcase our personality, intelligence, and passion for the causes we support. Of course, community involvement and advocacy play a major role, as pageants are about using our platform to create a positive impact. Each of these components comes together to reflect the type of leader and role model we can be both on and off the stage.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What’s your competition experience been like? Any memorable moments or learnings?
My competition experience has been filled with both challenges and unforgettable moments. One of the most memorable was during the Op Shop Section, where we dressed up as mythical characters or legends. I chose to be Doctor Who, specifically my own version inspired by the 11th and 15th regenerations. Wearing that costume, I felt absolutely unstoppable! It allowed me to embrace both my strength and my inner quirkiness, which made me feel empowered and confident. Another special part of the competition was behind the scenes, where I had the chance to bond with my fellow sisters. The weekend of the pageant was filled with laughter, shared experiences, and unforgettable memories. Building lasting connections with such incredible women was truly one of the highlights. It taught me that pageantry isn’t just about competing, it's about building a community of support, encouragement, and friendship that lasts far beyond the stage.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Would you recommend your pageant system to others? If so, why?
Absolutely, I would highly recommend Premier Elite Pageants to others. What makes this system stand out is its focus on personal growth, empowerment, and community. It’s not just about competing for a crown—it’s about discovering your true potential, building leadership skills, and using your platform to make a positive impact. Premier Elite Pageants encourages contestants to be authentic, embrace their unique qualities, and support one another, fostering a strong sisterhood that extends beyond the competition. With a director who genuinely invests in our growth and a system built on empowerment, it offers an experience that helps women grow both personally and professionally. It’s truly a life-changing journey, and that’s why I wholeheartedly recommend it.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell me about your advocacy or volunteer work. What causes are you passionate about?
I am deeply passionate about advocating for women’s empowerment and education. I believe that every girl, no matter where she comes from, should have the resources and opportunities to follow her dreams. I’ve volunteered with local organizations that support girls’ education and women’s rights, providing mentorship and guidance. I also advocate for mental health awareness, as I believe it’s essential for women to have a strong support system and understand the importance of mental well-being. My advocacy is about lifting others up and creating a more inclusive, supportive environment for everyone.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: With your title, what kinds of appearances or activities have you been involved in?
With my title, I’ve had the privilege of participating in various charity events, school visits, and community outreach programs. I’ve worked with youth organizations, spreading messages of empowerment and encouraging self-confidence. Additionally, I’ve been involved in mental health awareness campaigns, promoting open conversations and support for those facing challenges. Each appearance is an opportunity for me to inspire others and use my platform to create a positive change.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Can you share some of your achievements, both in and outside of pageantry?
In pageantry, I’m proud of the personal growth I’ve experienced learning to speak confidently, embrace my authenticity, and use my platform to advocate for causes I care about. Outside of pageantry, I’ve been involved in various volunteer projects that focus on education and women’s empowerment. One of my proudest achievements is being able to mentor young girls, helping them believe in themselves and understand the importance of education. I’ve also been involved in fundraising efforts for local charities, contributing to causes that support mental health and the well-being of women.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: In such a competitive field, what do you think makes you stand out?
What makes me stand out is my authenticity. I’ve always stayed true to who I am, and I believe that’s the key to making a lasting impression. I also bring a unique blend of confidence, empathy, and determination to the stage. Pageantry is about more than just the crown—it's about the impact we make. I aim to use my platform to help others and inspire change, which is something I’m deeply passionate about. My drive to create a positive difference, along with my ability to connect with others, helps me stand out in a competitive field.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I can only imagine how it feels to win. What was going through your mind when your name was announced as the winner?
When my name was announced, I felt an overwhelming mix of emotions—joy, disbelief, and gratitude. It was a moment I had worked so hard for, but it was also a reminder of why I entered the pageant in the first place: to use my voice to make a difference. I was so honoured to have earned the title, but more than that, I felt a deep sense of responsibility to represent my community and the causes I care about. I couldn’t wait to begin using my platform to empower others and keep working toward the goals I set.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What does be a Beauty Queen mean to you?
Being a Beauty Queen is about much more than just a crown and sash. It’s about using the platform to create positive change and be a role model for others, particularly young girls. It means embracing both my strengths and vulnerabilities and standing tall in the face of challenges. Being a Beauty Queen is a reminder that beauty comes in many forms, and it’s what we do with our strength, kindness, and compassion that truly defines us.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How have pageants impacted your life?
Pageants have had a profound impact on my life, shaping me into a more confident, resilient, and purpose-driven person. They've given me the chance to learn new skills, such as public speaking and leadership, and have pushed me to grow beyond my comfort zone. Most importantly, pageants have shown me the power of community and the strength that comes from empowering others. I’ve learned that success isn’t just about winning, it's about making a difference, no matter how big or small.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How have pageants influenced your self-esteem and body image?
Pageants have helped me see myself in a whole new light. They’ve taught me that confidence comes from within, and true beauty is about being comfortable in your own skin. Through my journey, I’ve learned to embrace my uniqueness and stop comparing myself to others. Pageants have challenged me to push past any insecurities and stand tall, knowing that self-love and authenticity are the foundation of true beauty.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: You’re an inspiration to many. How does that feel, and what message do you want to share with others?
It’s incredibly humbling to be seen as an inspiration, and it pushes me to continue using my platform for good. The message I want to share is simple: never doubt your worth. We all have unique strengths, and it’s those qualities that make us stand out. If you believe in yourself, work hard, and stay true to your values, you can achieve anything.
My journey is proof that no dream is too big, and with the right mindset and support, you can overcome any challenge.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What’s your strategy for captivating the judges on stage?
My strategy is to be authentic and confident. I believe that the best way to captivate the judges is by being true to yourself. I focus on staying calm and collected, allowing my personality to shine through in everything I do—from the way I walk to how I engage with the judges during the interview. It’s important to show the judges that you’re not just there to compete but that you have a message and a purpose you want to share with the world.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How do you prepare for competitions? Any specific routines or practices?
I prepare for competitions by focusing on both the physical and mental aspects of the experience. I maintain a fitness routine to stay healthy and energetic, but I also practice mindfulness and self-care to stay grounded and focused. I work on my public speaking skills and spend time researching my platform to ensure I’m ready for the interview rounds. Preparing for a pageant is about finding balance mentally, physically, and emotionally and making sure I’m fully ready to give my best.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Got any tips for nailing the perfect pageant walk?
The key to a great pageant walk is confidence and posture. Stand tall, keep your shoulders back, and maintain a steady pace. Practice walking in your heels until it feels natural and fluid. When you walk, focus on making eye contact with the audience and judges this creates a connection and helps you project confidence. And remember to smile! A genuine smile can make all the difference in your stage presence.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Choosing the right pageant dress can be crucial. What are your tips for making the best choice?
When choosing a pageant dress, it’s important to pick something that reflects your personality and highlights your best features. Go for a dress that makes you feel confident and comfortable, as that will shine through on stage. Consider the fit, the colour, and the style—it should complement your body type and make you feel like your best self. Don’t forget to practice walking in the dress to ensure it moves well with you.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Interview rounds can be tricky. What are your strategies for a winning interview?
For a winning interview, the key is preparation and authenticity. Practice answering questions with clarity and confidence but always stay true to your beliefs and values. Take your time when answering and remember that the judges want to get to know the real you. Focus on communicating your passion and purpose and let your personality shine through. Most importantly, stay calm and collected—being genuine is always the best approach.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Looking back, is there a moment in a competition you wish you could redo?
Looking back, I don’t have any regrets, but if I had the chance to redo one moment, it would probably be when I felt a bit too nervous during my first interview. I was overthinking, which made me a bit stiff. If I could go back, I would remind myself to just relax, breathe, and enjoy the experience. It’s important to trust in yourself and not let nerves get the best of you.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What common mistakes do you see others making in contests?
One common mistake I’ve seen is focusing too much on what others are doing rather than staying true to yourself. It’s easy to get caught up in comparing yourself to others, but pageants are about showcasing who you are and what makes you unique. Another mistake is underestimating the importance of preparation. Competitions aren’t just about the stage presence—they’re about being well-rounded, confident, and ready to speak up for the causes you care about. Preparing mentally, physically, and emotionally is key.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Do you have any experience in modeling or acting?
Yes and no. I’ve had the opportunity to participate in modeling events through Country Girl Management, an empowering organisation that supports girls and women in breaking into the industry. It has been a wonderful journey of self-discovery, helping me build confidence and learn more about myself. While I haven’t yet landed any projects, the experience has been invaluable in teaching me the importance of perseverance, self-belief, and staying true to who I am. I’m excited for the future and the opportunities that will come from continuing to pursue my passion for modelling.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your plans or goals for the upcoming year as a Queen?
As a Queen, my goal is to use my title to motivate and support others. I want to be a voice for those who feel they don’t have one, especially in areas where people often feel unheard. This year, I plan to focus on giving back to my community and advocating for mental health, which is a cause close to my heart. It’s incredibly important to me that others don’t feel alone in their struggles, and I want to be a part of breaking the stigma around mental health. I hope to inspire others to reach out for support and show them that they are never alone.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Finally, what kind of legacy do you hope to leave behind?
I hope to leave behind a legacy of courage, confidence, and authenticity. Coco Chanel once said, “The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.” This quote resonates deeply with me, as I want my legacy to inspire others to embrace their individuality and have the courage to speak their truth. I believe that by being unapologetically ourselves, we can create a ripple effect that empowers others to do the same. My goal is to encourage others to take risks, pursue their passions, and live boldly, knowing that their voice and their story matter.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine would like to say thank you for this wonderful interview.
