Education Level: Degree Corporate Communications
Zodiac Sign: Leo
Hobbies: Baking - I create beautiful, mouth-watering cakes,
Platform: @fit_mohwande
Years Competed: 2025
Countries Visited: None for pageantry (Zimbabwe for leisure)
Likes and Dislikes: Fitness (Regular exercise, adventure (I like experiencing new things and creating beautiful memories), tranquility (A spa date any time) and I love food.
Current Status: Married with two children
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Can you share a bit about who you are? Like, what are your passions outside of the pageant world?
I am passionate about a lot of things, I am a lover of life. However, modeling, fitness and public speaking have my heart. I also love being a mom and witnessing my children grow and experience life - and I think it is a blessing that they also get to see their mother pursue her dreams and passion and live life independent of them.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I’m curious about your education journey. What's it been like for you, any particular highlights or challenges?
In pageantry, the biggest lesson has been to remember the why and stay true to self. One gets exposed to so much that it can be very easy to question your sense of worth and belonging in the platform. And it's not necessarily from the obvious competition everyone thinks of; it is the subtle notice that you share a space with different people from different worlds, different social status and access. So many are times where I needed to remember why I am pursuing the dream and it wasn't to be better than anyone, it was for me - it was to appease my younger self and challenge my adult self to make impact outside my immediate environment using my passions. It was to step on the stage in full presence and walk away as a reference of hope and inspiration for anyone who gets to see my journey. Remembering my why kept me grounded when I questioned my worth.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Women's empowerment is such a key topic. What does it mean to you personally?
It is simple really, it is giving women access to tools and resources to live better, allowing them to take space and be seen and heard without any filters or societal caps. If anyone talks women empowerment and does not leave women in question feeling highly confident and capable or with better perspective of the world around them, then the meaning of women empowerment is lost, in my opinion.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How did you get into pageants? What sparked your interest initially?
Tyra Banks and Basetsana Khumalo. Growing I wanted to be a model so bad and it was because of seeing Tyra Banks on the runway of Victoria Secret and magazine covers. It was seeing the grace and elegance Basetsana Khumalo moved with, the impact she made in young women's lives and honestly how she seemed to light up rooms she entered, the way our country adored and admired her - you could tell her beauty was skin deep. I wanted to follow the path those women paved, in my own way of course. And I did make a few attempts but put a pause on the pursued for my University studies and later on starting a family, among other dream being a mom was a big one for me. Now as a m om of two toddlers and a woman refusing to make her children the center of life, there couldn't have been a better time for me and Mrs Bold became a platform for my pursued.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What motivated you to participate in your first pageant? Was there a defining moment?
My first pageant was in primary school; I must have been 12 or 13 years old. I was motivated by my teachers and only after that, did my passion for modeling grow, then I started noticing how big the world of modeling is and the amazing women walking stages as runway models and beauty queens.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Why did you choose to compete for your current title? What made it stand out for you?
The focus on community work, it was a challenge I wanted for myself. There was something about "beauty that inspires" that captured my attention and stayed with me for months while contemplating if I have what it takes to pursue this dream. And I must admit, Mrs Bold - the name itself is attractive, so I took a bold step and entered and decided to give everything to participate to my full capacity - holding nothing back at all!
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I'd love to know more about your pageant system. Could you explain what it’s all about?
Mrs. Bold celebrates the strength, beauty, and diverse experiences of women from all walks of life hence the inclusivity women in different phases of life from married, divorced, widowed and single women with children to showcase their achievements, talents, and contributions to their communities. Mrs. Bold platform is a celebration of “Beauty that Inspires,” showcasing women who are making meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What do you think sets your pageant director apart from others?
Petunia is human, and by that I mean she did her best to make each of feel seen and heard, she has an open door policy which I really appreciate because that gave us access to her not her assistant - so it was easy to be fully committed working with someone who makes you feel like you are more than a number and a pretty face. She also showed a lot of consideration throughout the year for the contestants especially in terms of travel.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: During competitions, what are the key things you're judged on?
Self-discipline, self-leadership is seen in how we carry our different tasks and meet deadlines and still maintain the elegance, beauty and grace of being a queen in your own way. Another fact is beauty that inspires which we showcase with the impact we make in our communities. And last but not least, the potential for ambassadorship of the Mrs. Bold brand.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What’s your competition experience been like? Any memorable moments or learnings?
I honestly didn't experience much competition in the traditional way, I was fully aware of the other ladies, their presence and different phases in their lives. However, I made a conscious decision to focus on my journey, my why and giving the best of me in the pursued of this dream. And I made a great friend - Nadeena Le'Tang who held my hand during pageant week when I really felt overwhelmed by everything happening from long hours of one-on-one interviews to rehearsals; she was there. She was crowned 1st princess.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Would you recommend your pageant system to others? If so, why?
Absolutely, if you are passionate about modeling and prepared to challenge yourself and make impact in your community - Mrs Bold platform will help you stretch beyond your perceived limits. By the end of the competition, you would've worked on your self-discipline, self-leadership, consistency and confidence to take up space and be boldly seen and heard.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell me about your advocacy or volunteer work. What causes are you passionate about?
During my journey to becoming Mrs Bold, I did a lot of community work all anchored in my passions. I baked a beautiful cake and spent time in a children's home; I visited women in destitute trying to rebuild their lives. My most impactful advocacy is period poverty, for this mission I used my passion for fitness as vehicle to serve by running 90km against period poverty and managed to donate sanitary pads to high school girls. I was honored to connect with the girls I helped and through this mission I healed a part of me I didn't even know existed and that is my younger self who once experienced silent shame of not having sanity pads. So my advocacy made an impact in other people's lives and healed me. This is a mission I want to commit to for as long as I can. It is fulfilling to know someone's life is a bit better or comfortable because you choose to show up for them.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: With your title, what kinds of appearances or activities have you been involved in?
Since being crowned, I have had the opportunity to represent my tittle through media engagement including a newspaper feature following my win and storytelling through my social media platforms (@fit_mohwande). Beyond that I have been intentional about using this period to lay a strong foundation for my year, strategically planning charity involvement and future appearances that align with my values and the purpose of my tittle . I believe in purpose-driven action and I am committed to ensuring that when I do engage, it is meaningful rather than performative.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Can you share some of your achievements, both in and outside of pageantry?
I am tempted to say being a mom or walking the stage of Mrs Bold or partnering with The Grow Great Organization and having my first bulk book sale with them or achieving my strongest and best physical form after having children. But at this point in my life, I am living my most rewarding moment and regard it as an achievement - because it is being grounded in who I am, who I am becoming, what I do and giving myself grace in the process. It is also knowing my children are witnessing me live an intentional life with them and independent of them without guilt.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: In such a competitive field, what do you think makes you stand out?
I am grounded in who I am and who I am becoming and embrace the process and everything in between. And of course, there is no another queen like me and no one can do what I do, the way I do it.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I can only imagine how it feels to win. What was going through your mind when your name was announced as the winner?
It felt so surreal and I can still remember these words going through my mind "Thank you God, it's my time, we did it, hank you God"
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What does being a Beauty Queen mean to you? Being beauty queen to me means representing beauty that inspires, beauty rooted in confidence, courage, character and purpose not just physical appearance. The grown represents growth, healing and the power of saying yes to yourself and fully showing up to fulfill the promises you make to yourself and making an impact in other people's lives at the same time.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How have pageants impacted your life?
Pageants have the power to help you define your purpose and realize you can always make an impact in other impact in other people's live. That is the biggest impact I've had.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How have pageants influenced your self-esteem and body image?
It helped guide conversations I have with myself, with all the exposure to other contents, the different phases and statuses you can't help but notice when other people are "seemingly" doing better than you in some areas and these are the moments where you can question your worth or belonging. So every time I experienced these moments, I reminded myself that I entered the competition out of passion wanting to appease my inner child and challenge myself to make impact, it was about me not other ladies in the same platform.
In terms of body image, I am a fit mom of two toddlers and a qualified fitness trainer, and I am passionate about fitness and wellness and I comfortable in my skin because I take care of my body. I simply continued my fitness lifestyle, eating well and doing
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: You’re an inspiration to many. How does that feel, and what message do you want to share with others?
Being an inspiration to others is a responsibility, it makes feel like I owe it to myself and those who look up to me to live an intentional life. My message to anyone reading this article or witnessing my journey is, you are valid, your dreams are valid and you owe yourself everything you've imagined so pursue your goals with everything you've got and give yourself grace - somethings take time because the process prepares and builds you to be the version of yourself who can handle the success.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What’s your strategy for captivating the judges on stage?
Smile, keep shoulders up and back and have good eye contact. The judges are there to see you but they need to know you see them too. In my opinion, pageantry is different from runway - we engage with the audience and the judges, not just walk to show our beautiful downs.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How do you prepare for competitions? Any specific routines or practices?
I empower myself by learning about the organization - their values and expectations, I also look at previous contestants. This research informs how I move and apply myself in the competition.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Got any tips for nailing the perfect pageant walk? Live it! Literally. I practiced my walk in my kitchen while cooking, walking in the shop or just outside my house, I would image that every time I walk - I am on stage and need keep core engaged, shoulders back and head up straight with a smile. And I honestly felt silly sometimes, but it helped a lot. It's also useful to watch videos of pageants and pageant coaches especially if you can't afford a one-on-one session. All these preparations get you ready for the stage and ready to own that moment. A good pair of shoes goes without saying.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Choosing the right pageant dress can be crucial. What are your tips for making the best choice?
Understand your body and your style and stay true to yourself. If you don't like "exposing" your body, don't choose a dress with a slit, low neck and open back because it will reveal your boy and make you uncomfortable. If you do want to try something new, don't go overboard, going back to the revealing dress - you can choose a slit or open back, not both. The point would be to get out of your comfort-zone but not make yourself overly uncomfortable because it will show and ruin your night. If can't do stilettos, get platforms.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Interview rounds can be tricky. What are your strategies for a winning interview?
Authenticity, that allows you to answer truthfully and not just say what you think everybody wants to hear. Secondly, taking time before you answer - a 5 second breather is enough to gather your thoughts before you speak, rushing to answer leads to mistakes. And lastly, I'd say believe yourself to be the main character in the room - that gives you a confidence boost and makes you realize that the judges and the audience are as human as you are and actually there to see and hear you.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Looking back, is there a moment in a competition you wish you could redo?
Oh no, I learned and grew so much from being participating in the competition - I wouldn't change anything.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What common mistakes do you see others making in contests?
Allowing it to really be a competition with fellow contestants and that is a destructive noise that steals focus from what you should be doing as an individual in your own capacity. You can't compete with other people without keeping taps on what they are doing and trying to keep up.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Do you have any experience in modeling or acting?
Yes, I have done some commercial modelling before for hair and maternity clothing.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your plans or goals for the upcoming year as a Queen?
I want to continue using fitness as a vehicle to serve and make an impact by merging it with the sanitary pads campaign to address period poverty faced by young girls and I would really like to partner with some organizations for greater impact. Over and above, I will be focusing on being the best ambassador for Mrs Bold organization and preparing for my international participation in Atlanta, USA in October. On a personal level, this year is for building my speaking career and becoming visible as a Speaker, MC and Pageant Panelist.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Finally, what kind of legacy do you hope to leave behind?
I deeply desire to be a reference of hope and inspiration for people who witness my journey, my hope is that people will look back and say "...because of her, I believed I could be more, do more and take up space unapologetically" I want to be remembered as a woman and queen who honored motherhood, self-growth, and purpose and proved that strength, grace and ambition can coexist beautifully.
