World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.
Like a modern women, I wear different hats. Beside being a dedicated wife and a loving mother to my 3 year old son. I am a Co-owner and Account Manager of my husband Medical Practice “Health & Beauty Medical Clinic”.
I perform all the duties expected of Mrs. Philippine World which includes promoting pageant, writing posts and pictures, securing next year contestants and managing the ones who have already signed. I am also a pageant Co-Director, therefore I share many other responsibilities with the National Director. I perform runway modeling, and photoshoots for media and magazines and appear in TV interviews. Also I am the Founder of non profit organization, "You are loved foundation for Postpartum Depression awareness. I am actively involved spreading my message about postpartum depression that it is real, very dangerous but treatable.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?
Helping other women to use their potentials to best of their abilities to help themselves and others.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.
I have won several state, national and international titles. Currently I am preparing to compete at Mrs. World as reigning Mrs Philippines World
World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?
While I was suffering from postpartum depression, my husband suggested to take part in my first pageant which turned out to be a life changer.
World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?
Philippines is where my roots are. I wanted to represent Philippines and show the world that Filipino Queens are no less than other Queens of the world. I am hoping that I will take first Mrs World crown to Philippines.
World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?
Mrs World is the world most prestigious and oldest pageant in the world. Each Queen has a purpose or advocacy to empower themselves and others.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?
There are four official criteria’s
1- Pre Interview
2- National Costume
3- Swimsuit
4- Evening Gown and Q&A
I believe most important one is attitude and positivity
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.
Competing at Mrs. Philippines World was a great experience. Especially I got very sick and started vomiting just before the final. I felt very weak. However, I gathered all my inner and outer strengths and performed all my numbers including the initial group dance. It was hard but the reward was tremendous.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.
My platform is my advocacy about depression and postpartum depression. I am very passionate about it as I am a survivor myself. Postpartum depression is more serious form of depression as the symptoms are more intense and traditional treatment does not always work
World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?
I have appeared in many TV shows, news articles and magazines. I have started my own YouTube channel “World Chat Live with Mrs Philippines World & Guessing Game” which is pure fun to help people with Covid related stress.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?
I believe coming out of postpartum depression and then using my inner strength to win several beauty pageants as well keeping my family together are most noteworthy.
World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?
I believe all the other beautiful girls stand out in their own way. I stand out due to my nature of being dedicated to my advocacy, my honesty and positivity, my hard work, perseverance and keeping a balance between my married life and pageantry
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.
I was actually in shock and speechless as I was really not expecting to win due to being so sick.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?
It means that I have a voice and I am empowered to empower others.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?
Competing in pageant changed my life. While preparing for pageant I had to set goals and give positive answer to each question. This actually cured my postpartum depression.
Secondly it gave me voice and status to make me feel more responsible and empowered which in turn drove me to help others.
World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?
It feels that I am blessed with a beautiful life and purpose. I feel great satisfaction to help others and see them successful.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?
Be honest, be yourself and give your very best.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?
First of all I did time management and planning. I prepared in every area of competition. I am lucky that my husband is my coach as well due to his extensive involvement and experience in pageantry. Lastly I made sure all my dresses, and accessories were ready at least two months before the pageant night.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?
You are have to learn it from the coach. It is very complicated and technical. I learnt it from one the best and I am willing to teach after my own competition at Mrs World.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?
The one which makes you feel good and you can be proud of wearing it.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?
Take a good rest and have a good sleep, drink lots of water, keep calm and answer every question honestly but intelligently. Don’t give the impression to judges that you are making up stories.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?
I don’t recall any mistake I made. However, I was put in a very stressful situation during one of my major pageants. Thank God I persevered.
World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?
Most common mistakes are not being prepared well, comparing with others, and not being themselves.
World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?
Yes lots of runway modeling, and print modeling. There is lots of acting going on during photoshoots but I am hoping for a TV or movie role.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen?
I am preparing to compete at Mrs. World 2021 to be held in Sri Lanka next year. I am preparing in all the areas of competition. Beside that I continue to promote my advocacy about postpartum depression awareness in TV, Newspapers, Magazines and social media.
