Zodiac sign: Aquarius.

Hobbies: I like to read, write poetry, act, play saxophone, dance and model.

Platform: My platform is to promote bilingual literacy and inspire the new generations to preserve Cuban culture and traditions through the fine arts. 

Years competed: I have been competing in pageants and representing my roots for five consecutive years. My titles have been, Little Miss Cuban American 2015-2017, Little Queen Ritmo Danzón Cubano 2017-2018, and now I am the Miss Jr. Cuba U.S. 2019.

Countries visited: In 2016 I visited Cuba with my tittle Little Miss Cuban American and it was an amazing experience to connect with my culture. 

Likes: I like helping and inspiring others by sharing my talent in different community events.

Dislikes: I dislike it when people lie and bully others. 

Status: I was born in the United States but my whole family is Cuban.

World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.

Since I was born my family taught me to love my roots, Cuban literacy and folklore. I am a Principal honor roll student. I love spending time with my family and rescuing homeless cats in my neighborhood.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment mean to you?

To me woman empowerment means someone who fights for what she believes in and nothing can stand in her way to reach her goals.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.

At nine years old I won the title of Little Miss Cuban American and held it from 2015 to 2017 then, in 2017 to 2018 I represented the tittle, Little Queen Ritmo Danzón Cubano. Now my current tittle is Miss Jr. Cuba U.S. 2019. 

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?

I was inspired by my two grandmothers and my mother who where beauty queens and models in Cuba. I decided to follow in their footsteps and represent my culture and roots here in the United States. They always helped me and encouraged me to be the best version of my self, I am thankful to have them by my side.

World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?

I chose to compete for my current tittle because with this tittle I have the opportunity to keep representing my roots in my community.

World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?

Miss Cuba U.S. pageant is about preserving the beauty, elegance, intelligence, and empowerment of the Cuban woman.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?

During the competition the judges where looking for someone who not only has external beauty but someone who has a heart for helping others, is self confident, and can speak in public. 

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.

It was an amazing experience where I had the opportunity to grow as a person and share a stage with many talented young women.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.

I volunteer in order to spread joy and happiness to people that need it, through the arts and bilingual literature.  

World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?

Some appearances that I have done include, Easter Extravaganza,  Cultural Friday in the Little Havana, Taste of the Cuban Sandwich Festival in Tampa FL, Cuba Nostalgia for Cuba's Independence Day the 20th of May, Veterans Day Ceremony in the City Of Hialeah where I recited my original poem titled America, Henrry Mezza Summer Fashion Show, The Fourth Of July Parade in Key Biscayne, The City of  Miami Lakes Fourth Of July Celebration with the Mayor of the City and other State Representatives, Adopt a Meal for 27 Families in the Ronald McDonald Charity House, and an interview at Radio Caracol 1260AM.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?

Some of my achievements are, continuing to serve as an inspiration to others and being a role model to young people.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?

Being my self, being unique and giving it my all!

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?

My discipline and determination to be the best version of myself.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.

The moment my name was called out I was so happy to have met yet another goal and I felt a rush of excitement awaiting the year to come.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean for you to be a Beauty Queen?

For me a Beauty Queen is more than just a pretty face, but being an example to follow, a voice that inspires and stands out amidst other voices. "Learning embellishes your soul, inner beauty is forever" this is a phrase that I came up with after being a Beauty Queen.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants help your life?

Competing in pageants helps me grow as a person, be more self-confident and prepares me for the difficulties in life to come.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your self-esteem and body image?

The most important thing is to accept yourself for who you are. I think pageants help people discover who they want to be and helps their self esteems.

World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?

It is a great honor and responsibility because I not only represent a tittle but all the Cuban women out there. 

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning a better pageant walk?

Some tips are maintaining a great posture and taking runway classes to improve your walking skills. These skills not only apply for during the competition but all the time.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing the right pageant dress?

In my opinion you have to choose a dress that you are comfortable in and that you like, because what you wear reflects your personality.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning the interview portion? 

Prepare yourself for any type of questions they might ask. Read, study and learn more about different cultures, history and traditions. 

World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?

I took classes to improve my runway skills, posture, oratory and speaking.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?

I think that I am proud of the work I did and if we change anything then we wont learn from our mistakes.

World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?

Sometimes girls nerves take over and they end up making some mistakes such as answering wrong in the onstage question.

World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?

Yes, I have been modeling since I was seven and at age ten I started acting.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2019 as a Queen?

To keep inspiring people and making a difference in my community and the whole world.

World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?

I would like to leave behind a legacy of someone who had a voice that inspired change and someone who represented the powerful warrior spirit and elegance of the Cuban woman. "Shine with your own light and make a difference"  -With love Jasmine.
