World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.

I am currently a student at the University of Colorado Denver, I will be receiving a bachelor’s degree in psychology this upcoming December 2019. I plan on continuing with school because I want to be a clinical psychologist. I want to help those with PTSD, because I know what it is like to live with post-traumatic stress. I want to help those who have been in my shoes and help them overcome their trauma. Therapists and psychologists have changed my life. I want to be able to change lives, I want victims of sexual assault to overcome the trauma. Because life is too beautiful to be living in the fear with the fear sexual assault leaves behind.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?

I am part of a sorority called Kappa Delta Chi, and I have learned a lot about women empowerment being part of it. Women who empower each reach their goals. We have each other’s back for all aspects of life.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.

This is actually my first pageant, and I have never participated in other beauty pageants before. My focus has always been school.

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?

Growing up I was always told I had all the qualities to be a beauty queen, but I did not like attention at the time. I enjoy photography modeling and doing this lead me to a beauty pageant director who told me I would be perfect for her pageant. I also want to bring awareness of sexual assault, I want the public to know that a beauty queen was sexually assaulted and has overcome her trauma and thrilling in life. Maybe if victims of sexual assault see how I share my story they will become more comfortable knowing they aren’t alone.

World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?

I have always enjoyed having new experiences and growing as a person. Becoming a beauty queen will help me become a better leader.

World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?

The organization Miss U.S Latina is about finding being more than model but a role model to all Latina women that surround us. We have to demonstrate character and passion towards making a change in this world.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?

For my national competition for Miss U.S Latina I’ll judged by appearance, attitude, intelligence, and posture. There will be different categories with different outfits. Along with an

interview and live questions.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.

During the competition I felt nervous and excited. I knew I was lucky to be competing, because

not many girls get this opportunity

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.

My platform is sexual assault awareness because this is a topic that is thrown out the window. Women don’t feel comfortable about talking about their sexual assault because of the way our

society acts towards the topic. Therefore, they choose to stay quiet and their healing time only

extends. I want to change the way people respond to a sexual assault story. Instead of asking

questions of how it happened, give them a hug and tell them how much you love them.

World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?

I have met a lot of people who have the same passion to change the world to a better place. I

have grown as a person and for my future career.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?

I have graduated from high school with high honors and top in my class. Along with getting

accepted to over 10 universities nationwide. A year ago, I was selected to do a study in

Barcelona to help those in need and preparing meals for them.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?

The strategy is to feel and look confident with your words. Make sure your words come from

your heart and you truly have a cause for winning. These beauty competitions are more than a

pretty face and body. Judges look at the intelligence of a women and what type of leader they are in their communities.

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?

I am always on of the tallest in the crowd and that always makes me stand out, but what I truly

think makes me stand out from others is my personality. My humbleness and big heart portray

with my image. I care deeply about others and I stay true to myself. I don’t try to be someone

else. I am who I am and that’s how I stand out in a crowd.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.

I couldn’t believe it, and seemed so unreal. It felt like a movie.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?

To me a beauty queen means responsibility to be a role model and set a good example for your followers. It also has to be a person who cares about their community. Beauty Queens should aspire to help and be a leader. Many young girls follow our steps and we have to make a great pathway to follow.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?

I have become more confident in my own skin and personality. I have become stronger and I

have learned more about life. I am no longer afraid to embrace my beauty.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your self-esteem and body image?

From the start, that I knew I wanted to be part of a beauty pageant I had to start working more on my body because a bathing suit competition was involved. I focused a lot more on myself and doing this helped me start loving myself. Beauty Pageants truly empower women to boost up their self-esteem.

World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?

It makes me feel incredible to know there are young girls who wants to be like me. This only

encourages me to keep going to pursue my dreams. It gives me motivation to keep studying and pursing mote higher education. A true leader is someone with education and knowledge.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?

Practicing all the time and looking at others do pageant walks help us learn a lot more.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?

It is always a good idea to choose a dress that makes you feel like you. Your personality is portrayed through your dress and your style.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?

Feeling confident and taking control of your words is key to winning an interview.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?

I worked a lot on my image and I went to the gym as much as I could. I also researched what

time of questions are asks in beauty competitions. I would also practice walking on my heels

every day until my legs were shaking.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?

I wish I could have prepared my dresses ahead of time.

World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?

To become a winner, you have to focus in the price, those who focus on their competition won’t have a chance of winning. With this being said many girls focused to much on other girls.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2019 as a Queen?

I want to grow more as a person and learn about how to be a better leader. I am

World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?

I want to change the world as I have said before especially in the life of minorities. Latina

women have suffered a lot of injustice due to society. Having the title of Miss Colorado Latina, I hope to help Hispanic women achieve their goals and dreams. I want society to not only view us as beautiful women, but as women with strength and intelligence.
