I am an ambitious, highly motivated and goal oriented woman who always chooses to pursue her dreams professionally as well as personally.
I live with my husband and two wonderful kids in the beautiful, quiet, lush wine country of California, Livermore.
We are a happy family of four with immense love, support and understanding towards each other.
An educationist who taught Marketing to B-school students before starting up my own venture, I am the founder of Best In Class Education Center, Pleasanton, which provides online enrichment program in Math and English Language Arts to students from K to 10. I have successfully run this business for more than 3 years now. Our students are always advanced in their respective grade levels and perform exceptionally well in all competitive exams. I love my business and want to take it to new heights of success every passing year.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Please tell us about your education.
I have my bachelor degree with English Literature and Sociology as the major subjects.
I have two masters degrees; one in Public Administration( M.A.) and another in Business Administration (MBA).
I am currently pursuing my doctorate in Business Administration with specialization in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What does women Empowerment means to you?When a woman can take her own decisions, makes goals and strives to achieve them, has the vision to turn dreams into reality; giving equal time and importance to her family and relationships- that's real Woman Empowerment.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell us about your pageant history.
I participated in the Mrs. Bharat California pageant in November 2022 (State Level Pageant). It was this time I needed a lot of grooming and practice. Just like my every other endeavor, I worked very hard and gave my best on the stage. All my efforts paid off when I was announced as the winner. I was crowned as Mrs. Bharat California 2022. Next, I represented the state of California in the Nationals. Worked harder this time as the competition was fierce. All state winners were participating and many were close competitors. I worked diligently on every dress I wore, worked closely with the make up artist to achieve perfection in my looks, practiced different walk styles, and made sure I was completely prepared for the question answer round. The reigning Ms. Universe Harnaaz Sandhu was present at the show for the crowning ceremony. Dreams felt like coming true as they announced my name as the winner. Getting crowned by Ms. Universe on such a big platform will always be cherished by me as an extremely proud moment.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What inspired you to do your first pageant?
When a designer friend approached me for the pageant, I was absolutely not prepared. Having 2 kids and a long gap from my modelling days brought some kind of hesitation within me. But as I always loved fashion shows, pageants, ramp walks, and modeling; the thought of participating in the Mrs. Bharat pageant didn't leave me for a second. I decided to believe in myself, pursue my dreams which were long buried and said yes! I decided to not let my family responsibilities and my age become a barrier to fulfill my dreams. I very strongly believe that inspiration should always come from within yourself.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?Since I was a teenager I wanted to represent my country in the Miss World or Miss Universe pageant, but for various unavoidable reasons I couldn't pursue my dream. At the age of 35, I was thrilled to know that My Dream TV's Miss Bharat USA pageant also has the Mrs Category where I could finally showcase my talent. It is an extremely proud moment for any woman to win on such a big platform after getting married and having the responsibility of kids and family. I decided to compete for the Mrs. Bharat USA title as it was an opportunity to showcase my talent on a global platform.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?
My Dream Entertainment, a New Jersey based entertainment company, organizes the Miss Bharat USA pageant. There were 7 categories for all age groups and body types. This was the most special part of this pageant. This pageant was extra special in 2022 as for the first time in 71 years of Miss Universe history that any Miss Universe reigning queen crowned an Indian pageant winner.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What makes your director different from others?Rashmi Bedi is New York Highest women Empowerment award Winner. She is the founder and CEO My dream TV. She is Awarded By RUTH A DAVIS Retired US ambassador and Sushmita Sen - Former Miss Universe. She is Jewelry designer, Founder of MyDream Entertainment and a Non-profit organization MyDream Global Foundation, CEO of Miss Bharat USA, Miss Bharat World, and Miss Bharat Universe, Miss South Asia World, Mrs Asia World beauty , Mydream Miss India World, Mydream Miss India pageant, she is also Certified Vastu Shastra Consultant. She has been inspiring women all over the world by breaking the glass ceiling.
Her warm nature and extremely approachable and humble personality makes her unique.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are you being judged on during the competition?
We contestants were judged on the basis of our confidence and poise on stage while we walked in different types of dresses in 3 rounds. First round was Heritage round, second one Glitz and Glam, and third one was cosmopolitan round. Another one and the most important part on which we were judged was the question and answer round. We are judged on the basis of how thoughtful and compassionate we are towards world issues. Our beauty with purpose approach and empathy towards major world issues has lot of importance in the judging process.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell us about your experience during the competition.
Amazing, Thrilling, self-motivating, and most memorable! The grooming sessions before the actual event were extremely useful, got to learn a lot from them. A lot of idea sharing happened between the organizing team and all the amazingly talented participants, this experience was priceless. Meeting all the women coming from various backgrounds and building long term relationships was the most rewarding experience.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Who would you recommend your system to?
Any woman who would love to have a platform where she can be herself, discover strengths within her, make lifelong friendships, and shine on stage as well as within herself should definitely give it a try.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.
I want to volunteer and make a difference by working towards women empowerment and supplemental education for children. Though today's modern age woman is very self sufficient, there are still many women in some sections of society in the world who still need support, guidance and motivation to live life with dignity and respect. Through this platform I will try to reach as many women as I can and try to make a difference in their lives whenever and wherever I can.
My experience of running my learning center has made me understand how important supplemental education is for kids all over the world. My goal is to use my online learning platform for the benefit of as many needy students across the world.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What appearances have you done with your title?
I have inaugurated events involving farmers, small business owners, and artists where I interacted with so many of them and tried to make a difference. The events had local small businesses who were showcasing their products and services. All the products were made of locally grown organic ingredients. NGOs displayed their work and contribution towards betterment of the society. It was extremely rewarding interacting with everyone and inspiring them. I hope I could make a difference by trying to motivate and encourage them.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are some of your achievements?
Being able to reach people and make difference in their lives, and taking care of my own family while pursuing all my dreams are some of my biggest achievements.
Very proud of my professional achievement of the successful online learning program that is benefitting so many students. Needless to say, winning the Mrs. Bharat USA crown is another great achievement that I am extremely proud of.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?
Any title or crown does not have any value without a purpose. All other girls are supremely talented. I have a very clear purpose after winning the crown and that makes me stand out. My vision to make a difference in the area of women empowerment and supplemental online education for children make be unique.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.
Dreams felt like coming true and the stars seemed brighter than ever when I was announced as the winner and Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu hugged and congratulated me for the victory.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?
A true beauty queen is a woman who dreams and works towards pursuing her dreams at any age and at any stage of her life. Age should never stop anyone from trying to fulfill their dreams and ambitions.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How did competing in pageants helped your life?
It helped make me more self assured and confident in life. This pageant win has proved that anyone can achieve success and accomplish their dreams whenever they wish, at any age. This win is a proof point that your time starts whenever you want it to start, at any stage of your life.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image?
Recognition from the people around you is extremely important for anyone's self esteem. I believed in myself much more and loved my thoughts, my body, my looks much more than before.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?
As making a difference in other women's lives was always a vision for me, it feels extremely proud to be an inspiration. It makes me feel I am closer to my vision each passing day.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?
I made sure the confidence and resilience of being a woman should be extremely evident in all my walks. I answered the question in a way which resonated well with the judges. Very simple but heart touching answers always make the difference.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How did you prepare for your competition?
Other than working very diligently on my looks and outfits, I focused a lot on preparing for the question and answer round. Because this is the part where the judges actually get to talk to you and know your thoughts.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?Practice using videos, practice more in front of mirror. And most importantly, walk like you are already the winner.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?Find the color that best suits your skin color. Choose a glamorous, graceful and comfortable dress. If you are even a little uncomfortable in your dress, it will show in your walk and everywhere on stage.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your tips for winning interview?
Make your thoughts very clear before the show. Talk to yourself. Be true to yourself when you prepare answers. Mugging up will make you sound fake, the more it comes from your heart it will reach the judges' heart.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?
I booked the last make up appointment. The last minute hush hush made me a little nervous. All preparations should be well in advance.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?
Getting very nervous and discussing answers last minute backstage is of no use and will make you much more confused and nervous. A strict no to this!
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Any modeling or acting experience?
A lot of experience from college days but plan to do more now.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your plans for 2023 as a Queen?
Get more modeling assignments, meet more and more people, work towards my goal of women empowerment and work hard to spread my online learning platform across the globe.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?
I want people to remember me as a woman who lived her dreams all her life without taking a pause or stop because of age or family or any other responsibilities. They should remember me as a role model who can maintain a perfect balance between her personal and professional life, who can work every single day towards making a positive difference any other woman's life. I want to leave a legacy of beauty with values, passion, respect, patience, compassion and empathy towards the world.
