My name is Mariagoretti Ekeopara. I am from Imo State Nigeria. I am a Medical student. I love making new friends, travelling and dancing. My favorite color is Pink and I am a Devoted philanthropist. I am the first daughter with three sisters and a brother.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?
Women Empowerment is a state of empowering women in all ramification of life. Educating, Mentoring every woman in one ability or the other. Making sure our women are stable, capable in one skill or another either through the Government or Individual means.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.
I started Modelling at my first year in the university, after which I contested for Miss Nosa National and I emerged as a the Winner and since then I have reigned as a Pageant Queen and also competed severally till date.
World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?
I have passion for modelling from a very tender age, I watched Agbani Derago on TV Documentaries, Kyler Jenner and Naomi Campbell. I kept my hope high that one day I'm going to be like them and I worked hard enough and today I am a beauty Queen and a Model, I am grateful that I made it this far.
World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?
The previous Queen impressed me and she happened to be in the same department with me. So I decided to give it a try and it turned out to be a success.
World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?
The pageant system is all about your generous work and dedication to work towards the society. This is achieved through services towards the less privilege, Widows, Orphanage homes and community services in general. Starlite Queen Nigeria is aimed in crowning Queens who will give back to the society and For the growth and security of the Girl child.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?
The ability to serve the people in return, self confidence, Boldness and Charisma. Your ability to carry everyone along, intellectual capacity, Aura and Composure.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition?
I was nervous at first and then after the arrival, I had to meet with everyone, interact with them and we all moved along as friends. It gave me more strength that I had a great shot at winning so I stayed focused on the task and it really work out well. It was a great experience contesting alongside others.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for?
In the aspect of charity work, I really Devoted my time! Visiting the orphanage homes and I am a strong advocate for "Save our Girl child" and stop the stereotype against women. There's a relief knowing that I made an impact towards helping women and getting Justice for those being ruled out.
World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?
I have appeared in lots of magazines and many pageant events all over my country. With my crown, I have served well.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?
I have featured in tops magazines and I'm a Brand Ambassador of Premium Models Nigeria. Winner of The Starlite Queen. I have done several projects like:: Visiting the orphanage homes, A one on one visit to several women and caregivers, Free Medical Treatments and Free Eye checkups and also gave out medicated glasses to some in my community. I also had radio tour on Save our Girl child and Stop Rape.
World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?
My dedication, Confidence, composure, Intellectual capacity, Aura and most importantly, My Smile. I'm very bold when it gets to the stage.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner?
I was so happy and Excited. I had Worked really hard towards winning this title so much that I couldn't just contain the happiness when my name was called out as the Winner.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?
A beauty Queen is a selfless lady who doesn't stop until she makes an impact and achieves her goals. She is not only carrying the crown but she is a Devoted Philanthropist willing to work in her society at large.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?
It helped changed certain mindset in me and nurturing me in the aspect of culture, beliefs and more. I have encountered lots of people during my journey in the pageantry aspect and it has really helped me in shaping my views about people and how to tolerate and accommodate people with different background and lifestyle.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image?
It has taken me to another level and it has really elevated my status. I officially Welcomed the First lady of My dear State. That was one of the most important moments of my life mostly as a Pageant. Such rare opportunities don't come everyday.
World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?
I have been inspired by other models and today I'm one of them that young girls wish to be like. It's indeed a dream come through, I am truly honoured. Being able to be an inspiration to others girls out there means I'm in the right track.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?
My confidence and Persona. My personality brings new stuffs out of the box. My Smiles is very captivating, charming when it gets to the stage or anywhere else.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?
Before competing in any pageant or otherwise, I prepare mentally and I'm always ready for any competition. In the saying practice makes perfect. I always rehearse and make sure that I am set and good to go.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?
Mostly on my free times I do catwalk training, with different high heel shoes and I mostly follow up top models for more training like first Nigerian Barbie to be in the right track..
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?
Firstly having a creative stylist and Fashion Designer and also knowing your perfect size. Staying in shape matter too.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?
Being confident. Ability to be your self when answering an interview question is your main priority at that moment. Be bold and calm down before answering any Question.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?
Doubtful mind is a mistake. Not knowing who you'll meet and how they'd perform over you. So if I were to get another shot, I think the elimination of doubt will make become better than I am.
World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?
Being rude to fellow contestants, getting wrong outfits for the contest and at some point being afraid that they cannot make it to the end.
World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?
Yes
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen?
Being a well Respected Beauty Queen like Priyanka Chopra and Agbani Derago. Also Having a better pageant foundation on my own, being able to travel around the world.
World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?
A legacy whereby there will be a voice for the Girl Child and being able to stop the stereotype against women.
