World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Can you share a bit about who you are? Like, what are your passions outside of the pageant world?
I am a mother first, and my family and children are the greatest part of my heart. Outside of motherhood and pageantry, I am passionate about my faith, my platform, supporting children’s and veterans’ organizations, writing, and helping others bring their own passions to life through my marketing business. At the center of everything I do is a desire to use the gifts God has given me to make a positive impact.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I’m curious about your education journey. What's it been like for you, any particular highlights or challenges?
My education journey was about learning to pursue my goals while keeping motherhood at the center of my life. I completed my bachelor’s and went on to earn my master’s while raising young children. I wanted my children to understand that you can prioritize family, faith, and love while still pursuing education, growth, and purpose.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Women's empowerment is such a key topic. What does it mean to you personally?
Women’s empowerment has a very personal meaning for me because navigating illness from such a young age taught me how powerful our choices can be. When so much felt out of my control, I found empowerment through my faith, mindset, perspective, and the way I chose to keep showing up. To me, empowerment is not about perfection — it is about rising with grace, choosing joy through adversity, and allowing our challenges to become part of our testimony. That is also why I love Classic Universe so much, because beyond the crowns and titles is a true sisterhood of women uplifting and inspiring one another.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How did you get into pageants? What sparked your interest initially?
I did one scholastic pageant as a child, but Classic Universe was my first pageant as an adult. I met two of the previous year’s queens through a mutual friend, and what started as a shared love for animals and service quickly turned into a meaningful connection. They invited me to lunch, shared their experiences, and introduced me to the sisterhood of Classic Universe.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What motivated you to participate in your first pageant? Was there a defining moment?
My children were my first motivation. I want them to know that dreams do not expire, to always believe in themselves, and that God can open doors in seasons we never expected. The second reason was the sisterhood. I was craving deeper, more meaningful female friendships, and there is something so powerful about being surrounded by women with purpose.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Why did you choose to compete for your current title? What made it stand out for you?
The sisterhood and the encouragement from the previous year’s queens. The title also stood out because it gave me the opportunity to shine a brighter light on my platform. I saw it as a way to serve, advocate, and share my message of hope, healing, and resilience with a larger audience.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I'd love to know more about your pageant system. Could you explain what it’s all about?
Classic Universe is a pageant system created for women who are ready to experience, embrace, and empower. It celebrates women in different stages of life, which I think is incredibly special because it reminds women that beauty, purpose, and possibility do not have an expiration date.
What I love most is that Classic Universe feels rooted in sisterhood, growth, and service. It is about embracing the possibility that life still has beautiful new chapters for us to walk into.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What do you think sets your pageant director apart from others?
Lynda Samuels is truly our Mama Queen Bee. She brings nearly thirty years of pageant experience to Classic Universe, along with incredible grace, professionalism, and heart. What sets her apart most is the way she encourages women to grow, shine, and embrace new chapters with confidence and authenticity.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: During competitions, what are the key things you're judged on?
Interview, on-stage question, resort or swimwear, and evening gown. Each category allows the judges to see different aspects of who you are, from your confidence and poise to your communication skills and platform.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What’s your competition experience been like? Any memorable moments or learnings?
My experience at the Classic Universe World Finals was filled with so much support and sisterhood that there were moments it was easy to forget we were competing. The women genuinely wanted to see one another shine, creating an environment that felt joyful, meaningful, and incredibly special.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Would you recommend your pageant system to others? If so, why?
Absolutely, I would recommend Classic Universe to other women. The sisterhood and support are what make it truly special — the women genuinely encourage one another to succeed, and the system provides a beautiful opportunity to elevate your platform through service, advocacy, and inspiration.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell me about your advocacy or volunteer work. What causes are you passionate about?
Having been diagnosed with Gaucher Disease at five years old, I understand how overwhelming it can be to navigate life with a chronic illness. I am passionate about empowering others through advocacy, education, and awareness. I am also passionate about supporting organizations that serve children with illnesses, animal rescues, and families in need. Veterans’ causes are also very close to my heart, as I deeply believe those who have served our country deserve continued dignity, care, and support long after their service.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: With your title, what kinds of appearances or activities have you been involved in?
During my year as Ms. Classic Universe, I have had the opportunity to volunteer, donate, and attend charity events supporting causes close to my heart, including organizations serving veterans, animals, and children facing illness. One of the most meaningful parts of my reign has been coming full circle with BASE Camp, an organization that deeply impacted my childhood, through volunteering, donating, and attending their charity events. I also had the privilege of representing former Classic Universe queen Liz Sheppard and her boutique, Bebe’s and Liz’s, in a charity fashion show, and attending multiple events benefiting Big Dog Ranch Rescue, the largest cage-free, no kill dog shelter in the US.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Can you share some of your achievements, both in and outside of pageantry?
Winning Ms. Classic Universe and the People’s Choice Award is an achievement I hold incredibly close to my heart. I am grateful not only for the crown, but for the doors it opened to serve, advocate, and inspire. I have also been chosen for multiple opportunities to advocate, share my story, and help others living with Gaucher Disease. I am also proud of building a successful marketing business that allowed me to be a mom first while also balancing my care and treatment for Gaucher Disease. Being offered an incredible marketing leadership role under the mentorship of an incredible female CEO was another honor. Additional achievements include taking 1st in multiple powerlifting competitions, and competing on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge show.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: In such a competitive field, what do you think makes you stand out?
The women in pageantry are truly remarkable, and I believe every woman brings something unique to the stage. For me, what makes me stand out is my authenticity and willingness to share both the difficult and miraculous parts of my journey. Through faith, resilience, and the kindness of organizations like BASE Camp, I’ve learned to choose joy, find purpose in adversity, and use my story to encourage others.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I can only imagine how it feels to win. What was going through your mind when your name was announced as the winner?
When my name was announced, I was filled with so much joy and gratitude. It felt like stepping into a new chapter where I could carry my story, platform, and purpose into more rooms and more hearts. I felt honored, humbled, and excited for the year ahead.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What does being a Beauty Queen mean to you?
It means shining light, joy, and grace wherever you go. It is an opportunity to serve something bigger than yourself — inspiring others, creating meaningful connections, and using your platform for positive change. A true beauty queen leaves people better than she found them.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How have pageants impacted your life?
The Classic Universe pageant has impacted my life in beautiful and unexpected ways. It amplified my platform, connected me with an amazing sisterhood, and encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone and grow in confidence. Most importantly, it has reminded me that God can open new doors in any season of life, and it has given me another way to turn my story and experiences into encouragement and advocacy for others.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How have pageants influenced your self-esteem and body image?
The journey to the stage inspired me to care for myself in a more loving and intentional way. I wanted to feel healthy, strong, confident, and comfortable in my own skin. After walking through illness, motherhood, and many seasons of life, pageantry helped me reconnect with my body from a place of gratitude instead of criticism, and reminded me that true beauty begins with knowing our worth in God’s eyes.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: You’re an inspiration to many. How does that feel, and what message do you want to share with others?
Being seen as an inspiration is such an honor, and I’m grateful if my story encourages even one person to keep going, keep believing, or keep choosing joy. My message is that it is never too late to grow, follow your passions, and shine your light. And to those facing illness or adversity, I hope you find grace, healing, empowerment, and the reminder that your life can still be beautiful and full of hope.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What’s your strategy for captivating the judges on stage?
My strategy was to be authentic and allow the heart behind my platform to shine through. I believe people can feel when something is genuine, and I wanted the judges to see not only how I presented myself, but why this title truly mattered to me.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How do you prepare for competitions? Any specific routines or practices?
Being relatively new to pageantry, I prepared by researching interview questions, practicing my walking and posing, and learning to slow down and carry myself with more grace and confidence. I also spent time reflecting on my platform and reminding myself why I was doing this in the first place. For me, preparation was not only about looking ready, but feeling grounded, grateful, and connected to my purpose.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Got any tips for nailing the perfect pageant walk?
My biggest tip is to stand tall, breathe, smile, connect with your body, and allow yourself to enjoy the moment. A beautiful pageant walk is not just about steps; it is about presence, confidence, and the energy you bring with you. You want to feel each movement and let the audience and judges feel that you are comfortable, joyful, and fully present. It is also so important to practice in your actual dress and heels.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Choosing the right pageant dress can be crucial. What are your tips for making the best choice?
My biggest advice is to focus on how the dress makes you feel. Pay attention to the cut, color, fabric, embellishments, movement, the way it feels when you wear it, and when you see yourself in it. Do not strive for perfection; strive to feel like the best and most radiant version of yourself.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Interview rounds can be tricky. What are your strategies for a winning interview?
I found that my sweet spot was balancing preparation with speaking from the heart. I practiced, but I kept my core answers tied to what truly mattered to me, including my platform, my story, the organizations I love, my advocacy work, and the impact I hoped to make.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Looking back, is there a moment in a competition you wish you could redo?
If I could redo anything, I would slow down and enjoy the small moments more. Pageant week can move so quickly, and there is so much excitement, preparation, and emotion happening all at once. Looking back, I wish I had taken more pictures, more videos, and more quiet moments to really absorb how special it all was.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What common mistakes do you see others making in contests?
Being newer to pageantry, I still feel like I am learning too, so I say this with humility. One mistake I think people can make is trying too hard to be perfect instead of being themselves. It is easy to compare yourself to others, but your uniqueness is often the very thing that makes you memorable.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Do you have any experience in modeling or acting?
Yes, I loved acting and performing in my youth, and that creative side of me has always been part of who I am. As an adult, I have also done some modeling.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your plans or goals for the upcoming year as a Queen?
I am so excited to continue sharing my platform and amplifying the organizations that are so dear to my heart, along with other causes in my community. I want to keep showing up for organizations that support children facing illness, as well as veterans charities, animal rescue organizations, and families who need hope and support. I am also continuing my advocacy work as I travel to DC to speak on Capitol Hill with the Gaucher Community Alliance. My goal is to use my title with purpose and to keep creating opportunities for service, awareness, and connection.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Finally, what kind of legacy do you hope to leave behind?
I hope to leave a legacy of love, faith, encouragement, and light. I want my children and others to remember someone who trusted God, served others, kept growing through difficult seasons, and chose joy even in adversity. For my fellow illness warriors, caretakers, supporters, Classic Universe sisters, and the organizations I love, I hope my story reminds people that healing can take many forms and that their story is not over. If my life leaves others feeling more loved, seen, empowered, and inspired to shine their own light, that is the legacy I would be honored to leave behind.
