Hi! My name is Karsyn Calender, and I’m ten years old. I love playing sports, making art, and spending time with my family and friends. I also really love helping others and finding fun, creative ways to spread kindness.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I’m curious about your education journey. What’s it been like for you, any particular highlights or challenges?
School is one of my favorite places! I’m a gifted and talented student, and I love learning new things. One of my biggest highlights was scoring just two points below a perfect IQ score. Sometimes learning can be challenging, but I like pushing myself to do my best.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Women’s empowerment is such a key topic. What does it mean to you personally?
To me, women’s empowerment means girls believing they are strong, smart, and capable. It means knowing we can be leaders, helpers, and dream-chasers.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How did you get into pageants? What sparked your interest initially?
I got into pageants because I love being on stage and expressing myself. I liked that pageants are about confidence, kindness, and making a difference.

I wanted to challenge myself and try something new. I also wanted to share my love for helping others.

I chose my current title, International Miss Southern States Preteen because it gives me a voice to share my platform and inspire others to be kind.

International Miss focuses on confidence, community service, and being yourself. It’s about more than crowns it’s about character.

My pageant director truly cares about every contestant. She encourages us to grow and believe in ourselves.

We’re judged on confidence, personality, interview skills, stage presence, and how we present ourselves.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What’s your competition experience been like? Any memorable moments or learnings?
It’s been exciting and fun! I’ve learned how to stay calm, believe in myself, and support other girls.

Yes, because it helps kids grow confident and learn how to give back to their communities.

My platform is called Creating Kindness with Karsyn. I collect art supplies and host art classes to help kids express their feelings, build confidence, and have fun being creative.

I’ve helped with art activities, collected supplies, and talked to people about spreading kindness through creativity.

I’m proud of my academic achievements as Gifted and talented student, a honor roll student and two points below perfect IQ score, Universal Miss Platinum winner, USA Miss Texas Jr Preteen, Top 8 USA Ambassador at Nationals, Miss Jasper Petite Miss, International Miss Southern States Preteen and the work I do helping kids through art.

I think my creativity, kindness, and love for helping others make me stand out.

I felt shocked, excited, and really proud. I thought about my family and how hard I worked.

Being a Beauty Queen means being a role model, helping others, and leading with kindness.

Pageants helped me become more confident and comfortable speaking in front of people.

They taught me that beauty comes from being smart, kind, and confident—not just how you look.

It feels really special. I want others to know that being kind and believing in yourself can make a big difference.

I smile, make eye contact, and stay confident.

I hope people remember me as a girl who used creativity to spread kindness and made sure no one felt left behind because ohana means family.
