World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.
I am a senior in high school. I am the oldest of 4 children. I was born in Scottsdale, Arizona and moved from Phoenix, Arizona when I was 6 to where I currently live. I was a swimmer for 3 years. I want to travel the world. Career wise I want to be an OBGYN. The moments I cherish the most are the ones with my family, I love spending time with my family.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you? Women Empowerment to me means that a woman can do what she desires to do, even if society says it’s wrong or that she cannot do it.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.
This is the first year I have been in a pageant.
World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?
I have always wanted to be in a pageant or be involved in something that had to do with modeling. Toddlers and Tiaras was my first inspiration.
World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?
I chose to compete for my current title because I wanted to represent a Latina and women empowerment.
World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?
The Miss New Mexico Latina pageant system is a Latina pageant that shows latina empowerment. “More than a model a role model.”
World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?
I am being judged on my intelligence, beauty, my walk, and cultural heritage costume.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.
During the competition I learned how to walk, how to be more confident speaking in front of a crowd, and I met many different girls from all over the U.S. and New Mexico.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.
My platform is to promote self-worth. I believe that teaching teenage girl their worth and importance can prevent domestic abuse from happening. I volunteer for non-profit organizations MyPower and Sheri’s House of Hope.
World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?
I have participated in the MyPower camp for girls and talked to them, encouraged them to not let anyone tell them they aren’t beautiful. I have also volunteered at Sherri’s House of Hope and been at my church’s events.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?
Some of my achievements are being able to represent a Latina in my community
World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?
Everyone stands out, but i believe personality and just being yourself is what makes me stand out.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.
The moment my name was called out as a winner I felt like all my hard work had payed off. I felt that my voice would be able to make a difference in my community. I felt excitement and joy!
World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?
To me, being a Beauty Queen means that I am someone who can make a difference with my title.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants help your life?
Completing in pageants helped me be more outgoing and learn how to love myself more.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants help your selfesteem and body image?
Pageants helped my self esteem and body image because I learned how to love myself the way I am. It made myself be more confident with myself and my body.
World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?
Being and inspiration to other girls makes me feel special, it makes me feel like I am someone in life. It makes me feel accomplished knowing I can help change someone’s life by simply using my words.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?
Be yourself.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?
I looked at YouTube videos!
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?
Don’t be so stiff, loosen up and little and have fun with it!
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?
Wear a dress you feel comfortable in and that you think looks good on you! Fall in love with your dress!
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?
Always be yourself and be honest. Know more about the things you talk about.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?
One mistake I would fix would be having much more fun with my walk and being more outgoing.
World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?
They don’t have fun with it!
World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?
None at all.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen?
I want to be a public figure and talk about my platform more, as well as doing more community service!
World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?
I want people to remember me and someone who was an inspiration to other teenagers and encouraged them to love themselves just the way they are. Someone who was dedicated and did whatever it took to achieve her goals.
