World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.

I could define myself as kind, generous, and outgoing. Around my friends I am energetic and fun person to be around, but around people I do not know I’m quiet and shy. I love getting dressed and all pretty to take pictures and go out. When it comes to school, my favorite subject is math, but I am incredibly good at reading and writing. I started taking dual enrollment and AP classes this school year, and I was also in the Honor Society.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment mean to you?

Women empowerment has changed a lot from what it was back then. Women empowerment to me is the power to express how they feel, and when they have a problem being able to say it and make their point across with no problem. Women are and always have been capable of doing things men usually do. Women empowerment is not completely accomplished but we need to make sure to keep fighting.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.

This pageant is my first and I hope that it is not my last. It was a completely new experience and I was really nervous for how everything was going to turn out. However, I made long lasting friends and many new experiences.

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?

Actually it is a crazy story, because when I first signed up for Miss Cuba US I had never modeled before, I was nervous about being in a pageant not knowing how to even walk but what got me interested in it was how it was based about Cuba and I wanted to represent the Cuban culture and I had to try new experiences.

World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?

I chose to compete for my current title because I wanted to try something new and I have seen many different pageants and what I notice is all the activities and friends they make. Even if they win or not, they get to walk out with an amazing experience. And obviously I am Cuban, and I wanted to represent my beautiful country

World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?

The pageant system (BNC) is about representing Cuban culture, like for example their colors, traditions and many more things. Also, it is about modern Cuban women and their beauty.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?

We get judged on communication and seeing how much we care about the pageant and the title, not being envious of other people in the pageant, and mostly always having a big smile on your face.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.

My experience was amazing. I got to meet new people and learn many new things about pageantry. Yes, coronavirus may have gotten in the middle of everything however we all kept in touch during the whole pandemic. But, after all, I really enjoyed everything I did and all the workshops. Our director made sure all of us had a good time.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.

My platform is Cancer awareness, I am interested in this because it makes me sad seeing all those kids and adults going through all of that. I would love to visit the hospital and donate and give them hope because that is something they really need.

World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?

Right now, I have not done any appearances because we recently got crowned, but I can’t wait for all the activities and places we will visit.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?

One of my achievements is being a 9th grade student but already taking dual enrollment and AP classes to earn college credits.

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?

I think something that makes me stand out is how I am not afraid to try new things, if I would not have gone for this opportunity I would not be where I am now. Many girls may be beautiful but it is not all about how you look, but being a good person and helping others, being an educated and independent person is more important.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.

The moment my name got called out I felt powerful, an adrenaline rush rushed through my body and I was happy I got to be a queen and represent my country.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?

This pageant, since it is my first, made me more mature and independent, I learned many things throughout the process like what a Cuban woman really is, I am glad I got to live this experience and keep it going.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants help your self-esteem and body image?

Pageants helped me physically and mentally, it boosted my self-esteem and made me more open minded and confident

World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?

Being an inspiration to other girls feels good because I get to be a role model to all the girls that are afraid to start at such a young age, I get to tell them that anything is possible and anything they set their mind to, they can definitely accomplish it.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on-stage strategy to win the judges over?

My on stage strategy is not looking the judges straight in the eyes, because personally it gets me nervous, but you have to breath and give yourself 5 seconds before answering the on stage question, and the most important detail is smiling, always have a big smile and have a good attitude

World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?

I prepared myself by taking private classes with Alicia Faccio, she is a great teacher by the way, and I practiced my walk in all my different outfits and practiced my interview questions. I was also in the pageant workshops and rehearsals which also helped me a lot to be prepared for the final day.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walks?

My tips are be confident, smile, and be open to different advice the people are going to give you, take in consideration the little things they tell you, but most importantly be confident and always smile, you have to live through the moment and don’t put pressure on yourself.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing the right pageant dress?

My tips are always taking in consideration what color looks best on you and what dress makes you feel confident, there are no boundaries for picking the perfect dress, sometimes you might start a month before and find the dress a week before the final day but you have to do what’s necessary to look stunning the day of the coronation.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning an interview?

My tips for this is being yourself and being honest in anything they ask you. Be polite and educated always.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've made during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?

One mistake that I went through was having too much trust in myself and limiting myself to what other girls were doing when instead I could have been more open and could have talked and answered the judge questions better.

World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?

Some mistakes being seen on pageants are jealousy and being envious of each other when in reality it is all about making new friends and new experiences.

World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?

I used to be in an acting school, and I enjoyed it a lot, it was a different experience and it required many gifts to act well. This taught me a lot about my face expressions and being more extroverted.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen?

My plans are to enjoy my crown to no limits, discover many new things about Cuba and our traditions and participate in many activities. I want to represent my country to no extent and show what a positive Cuban woman is capable of.

World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?

I am honored to be the first titleholder to take the title of Jr. Senorita Cuba.
