I'm a F&B company director, a wife and a mother of 3 children. World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you? To have the freedom to pursue and enjoy my interests, and in the process inspire and encourage other women to do the same. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history. TKS Elite Mrs Singapore pageant is my first! World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant? I spent decades devoting my life to my family - my husband and children. As my children have all entered the workforce, I decided that it is time to fulfil a long time dream of mine - to participate in a beauty pageant. At the encouragement of my family, I finally did! World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title? I chose to compete in TKS pageant system because it is an internationally renowned beauty pageant. World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about? It is a platform to encourage women to be more outspoken and to be more confident, through participating in events ranging from charity to the arts. It is a multi-tiered system, where ladies are assessed in different areas, including talent and public speaking World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition? Talent, interview skills, outfit and etiquette, amongst many others World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I gained many new friends, learnt many new skills, gained much exposure to different events and most importantly, gained a ton of self-confidence. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for. I am particularly invested in the welfare of the elderly - as our population is increasingly ageing, we are hearing more stories about our elderly being neglected or abandoned. I personally think that we should pay more attention and be invested in their wellbeing! World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title? Singapore International Arts Festival for Children and Youth 2020 Asian Academy Creative Awards 2019 World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements? Best talent award, Most photogenic award World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over? Be confident! World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls? I believe it's my vibrant personality and confidence that stood me out from the other girls. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner. It definitely felt like I was in a dream! I was both excited at the opportunities that would follow and relieved that I made it this far! World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen? To me, it symbolizes feminism and provides a platform for me to spread awareness about women empowerment. World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life? It has taught me the importance of self-care and self-improvement, as well as to have the courage in trying new things. World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your self esteem and body image? It has helped me to accept myself for who I really am. World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel? I definitely feel flattered and honored. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk? Be confident and do not be shy to ask for pointers from others. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress? If it looks elegant and makes you stand out. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview? Be confident. World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition? Practice, practice and more practice. World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it? Given the chance, I would like to practice and hone my skills in public speaking. World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest? It takes courage to participate in a beauty pageant and I think that in itself is very commendable, so I think everyone has done very well. World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience? Not prior to participating in this pageant. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen? To participate in more charities/events involved in promoting eldercare and women equality. World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? To empower more women to step out of their shell and do the things they want to!
