World Class Designers Magazine: Please tell us about your brand.
Zaady is based on openness and historicity. My brand is unisex and multicultural. The collections I showcase are diverse and blend couture designs with streetwear clothes. I like to renew my brand and create accessories as well as perfumes to broaden my range of products.
World Class Designers Magazine: Tell us about the history of your brand.
Zaady was launched in 2016 and I developed my brand in France and Bruxelles. Afterwards, my creations became mainstream in those countries. I presented my collections in notorious places, namely the Hilton hotel and the VIP room.
World Class Designers Magazine: Please tell us about yourself.
I was born in the Ivory coast, where my family taught me how to sew. Then, I became madly in love with fashion. I started as a personal shopper and decorator in my country and moved to Europe, where I became a fashion designer.
World Class Designers Magazine: Tell us about your collection we are showcasing.
The collection you are showcasing is destined for Los Angeles celebrities. It reflects the west coast extravaganza with pop colors, glitter, and voluminous sleeves.
World Class Designers Magazine: What was your inspiration?
I was inspired by Philipp Plein's eccentric universe and by American celebrities, such as Lady Gaga.
World Class Designers Magazine: Which major fashion shows were you able to showcase your collection so far?
I showcased my collections at the Urban fashion show in 2016, and at the Lido in 2018 for Top model Belgium.
World Class Designers Magazine: What local, national or international celebrities did you dress so far?
I dressed football players like Mathias Pogba, artists of the program danse with the stars, namely Christian Millette and Denista Ikonomova , models Julie Jardon or Debby Gommeren.
World Class Designers Magazine: What made you decide to become a fashion designer?
My mother Nadaud had a couture workshop and, as a kid, I selected clothes for the women of my family. Gradually, I realized I wanted to be a fashion designer.
World Class Designers Magazine: What are some of your highlights as a designer?
I won the first prize in Sanremo, Italy thanks to my Nadaud collection in 2018. The following year, I was the winner of moda internazionale in Italy. In 2020, I won the Parisian global fashion touch awards.
World Class Designers Magazine: What were some obstacles as a young designer that you had to overcome.
As a young designer, I struggled to legitimate and develop my brand. I arrived in France in 2013 to pursue my goal and had to wait until 2016 to see Zaady grow.
World Class Designers Magazine: As an established Designer what are your goals now?
I intend to be featured in the calendar of the French couture federation for Paris fashion week.
World Class Designers Magazine: What can we expect from you in 2021 as a designer?
This year, many projects are planned for Zaady: a new collection, a broader and stronger community, and exciting events among other !
World Class Designers Magazine: How can clients purchase your designs or contact you?
As a designer, I offer made to measure clothes and prêt à porter. Clients can come to the Zaady store in Bruxelles to purchase my designs or buy my creations on the brand's website. If customers have specific requests, they can contact me through my social networks.
World Class Designers Magazine: What legacy would you like to leave behind?
I would like people to grasp the cultural and artistic stand of fashion, and to picture Zaady as an avant-garde couture brand.
