World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.
I live in Tokyo with my husband. We were not blessed with children. It's been fifteen years since I started my own business as a chiropractor. I’ve taken a Macrobiotics cooking class twice a month for three years. Macrobiotics is the food that is traditional, seasonal, and especially considered for health, devised initially in Japan. Now, as a body therapist, I focus on postural guidance and work on improving health and beauty by advising on how to lose weight and enhance chronic physical condition.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?
For me, empowerment is about being able to choose a place where people can appreciate each other's great individuality, ability, and beauty without being compared.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.
Since I was scouted in May last year by a Japanese organizer, I learned various things from professional instructors for the pageant. I was amazed at my improvement in makeup, fashion, walking, and acting skill, etc. It was my first pageant, and I got one of the titles, Best Pink Pajamas.
World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?
At first, I wanted to promote my job though I was worried about the appropriate traits that I didn't have, which led me to think I didn't deserve the pageant. Still, I regained my confidence and brilliance by taking care of my unique personality. I challenged the pageant, and my mind became rich.
World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?
Same as above. It was my first challenge.
World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?
In the year 2016, TKS Mrs. International was officially recognized as the top ten most relevant international women's pageant. It's held annually in November in Singapore.
There are three categories.
1 Ms. (twenty-eight years old and above)
2 Mrs. (Married or previously married)
3 Elite (forty-five years old and above)
Participants must be physically and mentally healthy women and must adhere to the etiquette rules established by TKS. In 2019, we spent nine days on the traveling and the social gathering meetings, two days for the competition. The award presentation lunch was held on the final day.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?
Dignity and behavior as a queen. The way of expressing different types of evening dresses and a national costume by wearing them. Posing and walking. Talent show and other performances. Three types of Portfolios. Walking and posing with pink pajamas and slippers. Self-introduction and Q&A.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.
I'm not good at English, but I talked to everyone as much as possible and took pictures actively with even the national directors and the staff. We became closer and closer to each other. Accordingly, on the last day, we became like family. The tie between us is hard to break now.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.
I learned about the wonderful energy of organic vegetables at the macrobiotic cooking class. There are not so many people involved with organic farming in Japan. I hope the number of them will increase in the future. I volunteer at the farmers market. Also, I do voluntarily help the cooking class twice a month to spread the thought, "What we eat makes our bodies."
World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?
There is no appearance so far.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?
I have run my own business for fifteen years. I gave treatment and guidance to a total of 10,000 people.
World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?
I maintain my body to be beautiful by correcting my posture. Also, I believe that you can keep your beauty and health without thinking about yourself negatively. I have confidence in my posture, well-shaped body. I also don't consider my age as a negative effect, which makes my life remain young and energetic.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.
I felt my strong appreciation when I was called as the PINK PAJAMAS AWARD, surrounded by my husband, friends, organizer, and teachers who supported me until then. I was happy that I could repay them.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?
It reminds me that I should keep making efforts to be always beautiful physically and mentally, never forgetting gratitude and contribution, giving dreams and hopes to many people, and continuing to shine.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?
It was a great experience for me to know the language and cultural differences and that you could overcome those differences to get to know each other. Becoming friends who could respect others was another precious gift. The experience of the pageant made me try my limits and enriched my life.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image?
One of the International directors of TKS told me, "No Drama, No Issue." These words made me feel comfortable with who I am.
World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?
I am very honored, and I feel my responsibility. I think that I should act as a role model.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?
I always smiled from the bottom of my heart and made eye contact to convey my feelings. I'm short, so I tried to move dynamically. I also kept my posture elegant.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?
I took all the lessons provided by the organizer and the national directors who had experience in world competitions. I leaned the international standards. My way of thinking changed positively. I learned makeup and fashion techniques. I studied English via Skype every day.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?
I smiled before going on the stage. Once I was on the stage, I tried to keep my confidence and gratitude. I strengthened my trunk, straightened my knees, and made my strides look as wide and elegant as possible.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?
I chose the one that sparkled and made my body line look beautiful. I recommend one which makes you feel happy.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?
I showed my appreciation for this opportunity. I made a speech with a smile, making eye contact with the judges. My most important message always indicated the future.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?
It was a great experience that I could overcome language barrier, but I couldn't explain myself in detail in English. I still needed to improve my language skills back then.
World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?
The girls were great. We were careful, but we sometimes forgot and lost something.
World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?
I don't have any experience.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen?
I want to make use of my experience for work. I want to give treatment and guidance of beauty and health to many people that I learned during the pageant. I want to support people who aim for the pageant, too.
World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?
I'm short. My left ear can't hear. I'm not a model. I got the opportunity though I did have these disadvantages. I didn't give up, and I gained confidence. My world expanded in the end. I want you to have the courage to step into a new world.
