World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.

I am a small town girl from Colmesniel, TX. I currently reside in Spurger, Texas with my husband, and our three beautiful children. I feel so blessed and humbled with the simple, down to earth life we live, and even more grateful that I have a true love story. I married my best friend, my soul mate now of 7 years. I am so thankful that I have a partner that has allowed me to embrace motherhood and my goals. I’ve had the privilege to watch my children grow being a stay at home mother, and the opportunity to support my friends, family, and community.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?

The empowerment of a woman is such a special thing! It means to be fierce a confidently beautiful in your own way. To speak truth, and to be of self-worth! We all have something inside us, and as woman we must do our best to support one another. It empowers us to be who we are meant to be and push ourselves and other to live their best life. Woman empowerment is extremely important to me because it is empowering to build each other up into strong woman, verses tearing each other down. To teach each other, to learn from one another, and to loves one’s self is the most vital parts of life.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.

I have been in pageants since I was a little girl. I have competed in numerous local county pageants here in Texas. I took a small break in my teenage years, but have come back full force and Texas strong! I have always enjoyed pageants and I look forward to my new endeavors now as Mrs. Texas Legacy US, competing nationally, and hopefully Internationally.

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?

My mother put me in my very first pageant was when I was 5 years old to experience the sisterhood that many feel. I fell in love with it. I remembering walking out on stage and feeling that I could do absolutely anything in the world. I felt pride and in my heart I knew had to continue with the pageantry, plus having an amazing support system from the relationships I gained and my family, made it that more memorable.

World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?

I chose to compete for this title because I fell in love with what the Texas Legacy US System was about. Of course being a mother and married unfortunately limits you in competing in may systems. When I saw that the Texas Legacy US Pageant had a “Mrs. Texas” category, I immediately found my way back into doing pageants! World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?

The Texas Legacy US Pageant is a system about woman empowerment. To embrace beauty in all forms no matter your age, shape, size, ethnicity, or backgrounds. It’s a system that seeks woman and encourage self-love and to embrace their inner beauty. It’s also a system that pushes you to leave a “Legacy” behind. They provide so much support to aid in developing platforms and pushing queens out in the community to represent all the many faces of women and to make a difference with your title. Winners from the state level will then go on to nationals, and from nationals winners will continue on to the International Legacy US Pageant.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?

Primary categories are Casual Wear, Fun Fashion, Interview, and Formal Wear Optionals are Western Wear, Photogenic Contest, and Spokes Model.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.

My experience was forever life changing because I walk away from this competition learning so much more about myself as an individual. It made me realize things about myself that I had forgotten, but most of all it taught me about myself that I didn’t really knew existed inside. It allowed me to see myself in a different light, developing my self-confidence, and recognizing my self-worth in more ways than one. I would recommend this system to all woman. I was fortunate to meet so many inspiring women that come from all over and they are truly incredible. I am now very blessed to have some amazing sister queens and leaders in my corner to follow to help me to carve my path in making a difference.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.

Women Empowering Women is a nonprofit organization with a mission to empower, encourage, and educate women through products, workshops, & social events. It is an organization that allows women to be part of a community that help develop new skills and encourage personal and professional growth. We give support and networking opportunities to help stimulate creativity and innovative thinking by working with others from diverse backgrounds. Women Empowering Women serves as a haven for women to speak openly and share stories of their successes and challenges with others who have similar experiences. The organization helps women gain helpful information and obtain positive personal and professional referrals. My goals will be to embrace this mission and spread the word by attending many women empowering groups throughout Houston, conducting food drives and fundraisers for women shelters and more.

World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?

I was recently crowned on Dec 2, 2018 in Houston at the Westin Memorial City, so I have not had the opportunity to make appearances other than local photo shoots for my title. I am currently planning my agenda and appearances with my Director for the first quarter of 2019 consisting of luncheons, social gatherings, women conferences, and more.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?

Motherhood – I love being a mother. To inspire my children that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.

Modeling contract with Envy Models & Talent

Texas Sweet Heart Award

Mrs. Texas Legacy US 2019

Blessed with a life with no boundaries and look forward to continue to push as a leader in women empowerment and to grow with the Legacy System.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is you’re on stage strategy to win the judges over?

People try so hard to create this unrealistic perception of who they are to win people over, not realizing that others can see right through it. Be genuine and you will shine on stage. Have good sportsmanship and conduct yourself respectfully. Eye contact is key, connecting with each judge and the most important thing of all…. Smile! Nothings better than a big ole Texas sized smile!

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?

My sensitivity and gentleness. Must be that southern charm, I am a Texas gal! Plus a smile that can stop traffic!

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.

I honestly didn’t realize I won, LOL! I thought I was first runner up, but then I realized I won!! My heart literally stopped, and the tears were hard to fight back, but there they came!! Tears of utter joy and happiness! What a dream come true. I was in disbelief. I am so happy I followed my heart and believed in myself.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?

It is an opportunity to have an additional platform to support the causes you believe in. Being a beauty queen is not just a title, it’s a job. It’s a job where you have to be a role model for women of all ages and backgrounds. An example of what anyone is capable of doing. It’s showing your self-worth and confidence to make a difference in the lives of others. To embrace who you are as a women and to share that with the world. It’s being a leader, a voice, an advocate, cheerleader, a counselor, and an ambassador.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?

This has been such a touching moment in my life. It has allowed my daughter to see me achieve a dream of mine. Setting an example for my children is incredible important to me. Being a role model that they can follow through life so that they can develop the foundations they need to succeed. You learn so many life skills while doing pageants. I see myself and my family growing from this experience. The impact that this has made in our life, I will reflect upon for the rest of my years to come. The positivity in our home life and family this has created has been wonderful and we will continue to embrace a culture of empowering each other with love and support.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your self-esteem and body image?

Pageants helped build myself confidence and to embrace not just outer beauty but beauty that comes within. It gave me a chance to find that depth inside myself that makes me shine, which makes me unique. Beauty is imperfections. I love the person that I am. I am perfectly perfect in my own unique way.

World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?

It is a blessing to be an inspiration and role model. It makes me want to always strive to be a do my best, regardless of the obstacles I may face. It is such a great feeling and will continue to always reassure myself I am doing a great thing and spreading joy and positivity. To be a beacon of hope for women of all ages or for people in general by spreading kindness in the world. How could anyone not love a job like that?

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?

Always have good posture. Keep your shoulders back and head up. Walk nice and slow, make sure to showcase yourself. Practice makes perfect! Break those heels in and know your foot placement. It’s all about muscle memory. Allow yourself to simply glide at a graceful speed. Practicing in your outfits and looking in the mirror to know when to stop and pose.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?

Opinions, opinions, opinions! LOL. Do your research on current fashion trends. Avoid things that bunch around your midline and waist. Choose styles that flatter your body type, colors that don’t wash you out, and that are age appropriate. Always try to research the stage colors too – it’s never fun when you blind into the background draping.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?

I feel that being who you and expressing your true self is an amazing start. Be honest a truthful with the judges. Allow that special part that makes you who you are, visible to the judges. Allow that one thing to stand out to the judges to see what makes you special. Keep your intro to 30 seconds but make sure to provide enough information about you that the judges can pull questions form it and get to know you more. Also there are several resources out there with sample questions, use them! Practice answering things!

World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?

I would say my walk it can always use some work. Practice makes perfect.

World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?

Not looking at the judges directly in the eyes as they presented themselves and walking too quickly down the runway

World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?

Not yet, but the doors are opening and I am ready to bust through them!

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2019 as a Queen?

To represent my system proudly and to become an ambassador to all women as I move forward with my platform of Women Empowerment. To make a difference in my community by being proactive with my title. To raise awareness and devote my time and efforts to make an impact on as many lives that I can throughout my reign!

World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?

I want to leave behind a positive outlook on life, where women of all diversities can embrace all their imperfections and harness them. To be imperfectly perfect in their way. To empower women in the community to have a voice and support one another! Most of all remembering that we are all human and we have the ability to make change and to change the lives of others.
