World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment mean to you?
To me, women empowerment means helping others to succeed. It means giving strength to women whose lives may not have allowed them to feel pretty, loved, special or important. Women Empowerment to me is not to think of myself. It’s about “What can I do?” in helping others to be stronger and happier in achieving their dreams and life goals!
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.
I’ve only competed in one pageant and I still can’t believe I won!
World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?
I was approached by the reigning titleholder to compete and share my journey. So, I registered as Mrs. U.S., representing my country as a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?
As Mrs. U.S., my country title, I chose to compete for Mrs. Ultimate Elite 2020 to help spread awareness for breast cancer, to support our women in the military and to represent involvement in our communities.
World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?
The Ultimate Elite Pageant is a beauty pageant with an emphasis on community service and to empower women by inspiring them to achieve their personal goals and ambitions while making an impact on the world around them. Their goal is to celebrate the accomplishments of women, serve as role models for future leaders, elevate involvement in community service (not just locally but throughout the Nation and abroad), and uplift their peers through Empowering by Inspiring.

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?
When I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer two months after my 57th birthday, my life changed forever! Life is not something that you just enjoy as if it’s your last day. It is a precious gift and if you’re blessed to have a second chance, embrace it deep within your heart.
I was full of life during pageant week. I was competing for those women and men who lost their battle to breast cancer and for those that are fighting now. I won my crown 16 days after my 59th birthday! Not just for me, but for all those that are affected by Breast Cancer and I believe the judges felt that in me, (and my short blonde hair).
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.
I did the ugly scream and cry, lol! I kept hearing my name but I couldn’t see anyone through my tears. And then I was surrounded by family and friends. When my children told me, I made them proud, the tears started flowing again.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?
Being a Beauty Queen to me means I have an obligation to always be respectful, not just to my organization, but to all beauty organizations when wearing or not wearing my sash and crown. It means I am in a position to show positive pageantry and that we are involved in our communities. It means being a role model to All!
World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?
Competing in the Ultimate Elite Pageant gave me more than I ever expected. It’s given me an opportunity to share my journey and it has opened doors for me to get more involved in my communities here in Maryland and Arizona.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants help your self esteem and body image?
Competing in the Ultimate Elite International pageant fueled my soul and I felt Powerful! This organization supported beauty and confidence to all of their competing queens.
World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?
Absolutely Amazing! For years I have been mentoring and teaching girls, boys and women in modeling and acting. Since winning the crown everything has escalated and I’m so happy! Many of my students tell me “I’m their inspiration”. What they don’t know is, they are My Inspiration!
World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?
My on stage strategy was to connect with the audience as well as the judges and have fun.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?
I practice walking in all of my outfits with two different pairs of shoes (for runway purposes). I practice for the interview category by answering questions from family and friends. And then I just went out there and had fun.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?
Watch and pay attention! I have always been a huge fan of Tyra, Naomi and other supermodels walking the catwalk. And let's not forget Miss Universe, Catriona Gray's Lava Walk! I paid attention to their style, grace and fierceness. I now have my own unique walk learning from the best!
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?
Choose a dress that fits your personality, style and body. Then ask yourself, “would you wear it again”? I’m pretty good at changing a dress to fit another occasion, long or short.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?
Actually, I did win this category. My tips are to be yourself, connect to all of the judges by acknowledging with a smile. Most importantly, try not to give a politically correct answer to the judge asking you a direct question. Give your answer from your heart. I truly believe that's what they're looking for. Sincerity and Genuineness.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?
I had such an amazing time meeting and bonding with my new sister Queens, we supported each other in every category! My mistake was not having someone recording my memories.
World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?
Getting into their own heads and not allowing themselves to enjoy competition week. I know it’s a competition and everyone wants to win the crown. However, the comradery is for a lifetime!
World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?
Yes, I have worked on tv and theater as an actress. I am published in several magazines and I’m proud to be the cover model for one of them, Dear Arabella. I absolutely love walking in fashion shows especially if it’s for a cause.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2019 as a Queen?
October 27, 2019, will be three months since winning my crown. I have been busy traveling between Maryland where I currently live and Arizona where I won my crown. My plans are to continue volunteering in my communities and empowering women to never give up!
World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?
When I was diagnosed with breast cancer my life changed completely! The legacy I want to leave behind is, I fought gracefully and respectfully while my God carried me.
