World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.

I was born to a Italian Mother and a South African father in Namibia. I was very close with my Italian nonna (grandmother) and wanted to find our Italian family all my life. My nonna met my South African grandfather in Italy when he went there as a soldier from South Africa, to help and fight in Italy. They were married in Italy, but was disowned by her family for coming back with him to South Africa. Over the years they lost touch. After my crowning in Bulgaria it was my plan to go to my Nona’s village Quadrelle with just a photo of her, speaking very little Italian and maybe find some family. I literally wanted to go knock on each door, (not the best plan I know). When my mom found out about my plans she showed me a postcard that she received from our Italian family, more than a year ago. She said that she wrote back on email, and phoned but nothing worked. I immediately started to search for every Katia Roberta I found of fb. I send many fb friend request. Two days before we left for Bulgaria my husband asked if I have found Katia. I said no. He punched in the number on his computer and the name of Girasole Kindergarten in Avellino came up, with the owner, Katia Roberta!

I immediate send a fb friend request and she replied! It was my long lost family. She said that she wrote the postcard on behalf of my Zia Antoinetta who’s wish it was to just hold one of nonna Rosa’s children before she died. An amazing fact, the day I phoned Katia was the day of Assesntian in Italy, a public holiday, where you give each other gifts, as the three kings did with baby Jesus! It was a miracle. After my Bulgarian pageant I went to Italy and found my family. By a miracle of God the two families could be reunited and my Zia’s wish granted. We found out afterwards that my Zia has been praying with the nuns for years, and even wrote to the Rai television station to help her find her family! They could not assist as South Arica was too far. I am happy to say that we have been back to Italy twice to see my family and we keep in regular contact. I thank God for this miracle. God used a pageant to bring to long lost families back together.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?

Women empowerment means to me to empower yourself and in that process other women to become strong and become the best versions of themselves.

I live by the motto, Get up, pray up, crown up and rise up!

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.

As mentioned above I have partake in the above mention pageants, and is currently a finalist for the MS Universe International pageant 2019 that will be held from 19 August 2019 to 22 August 2019 in Miami Florida, USA.

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?

I am an attorney and a public speaker and I had to go and speak about the Christian women and makeup, God revealed a message to me called Crown up. Every women is born beautiful and with an invisible crown, during your life that crown can fall off, if someone tells you something like you are fat or ugly, and then your crown drops. But when you polish the outside of a women with makeup, the inner beauty, that it is really about shine’s through and she put’s back one her God given crown.

World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?

I was invited by a scout for the pageant and at first was not sure if I should or not. I spoke with my husband and his advice was go for it! I entered and prayed to God that if I should go, I must be accepted, if I must not go, I must not get chosen. I was chosen, so I know God has a plan and a purpose with the pageant, no matter what the outcome is.

World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?

The MS World International pageant is not just a pageant but during the pageant a pilot reality tv show will also be shot.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?

The only strategy is have, is to be myself, at the end you must be true to yourself.

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?

In a world with so many beautiful women, I believe that my Crown Up message makes me stand out.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.

In all of the pageants I did not even expect to be called as a winner, I literally just prayed for a anything I could get, be it best legs of smile, anything. Before I entered pageants I was a western horse rider, and I had never had any experience with modelling of pageantry.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?

A Beauty Queen, is a nice title, but is comes with a big responsibility. People look up to you and you have to make sure that you are a role model for uplifting women, and really empowering women on all levels.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?

It definitely gave me more confidence to to have a platform to use, it also made me a aware person of the struggles that people have. As a lawyer it brought out my softer side witch I loved. I could be soft and vulnerable and really make heart connections with the people I met.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your self-esteem and body image?

My self-esteem was hugely impacted because I am not the normal size fit that you would expect of a pageant girl. I am not 1.8 meters tall and very thin. I am Italian so I am short and curvey, and I loved that I could brake glass ceilings for women in that respect.

World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?

There is a saying, heavy is the burden of a crown. I love to inspire girls and show them that they can be the best version of themselves, but the responsibility to be a good role model is for sure real. It is very important to me to always act in a manner that will inspire women so they can say, because of her, I did not give up!

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?

Going from a Western horse rider, definitely a good pageant coach.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?

I always say, wear a dress that fit your body type, and wear the dress that makes you fell like a Queen.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?

Just be yourself, be authentic and be honest.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?

I hired a pageant coach, got a personal trainer, asked for a lot of advice from previous winners and just prayed.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?

During one of my pageants I got confused with the cerography and walked off stage when I still had to be on the stage.

World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?

I personally believe that some women are so focused on winning that they can get mean and show their true character toward the end of the pageant.

Just be yourself, that is good enough. Then enjoy your journey and make friends, it really is a bonding experience for all the women.

World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?

No acting experience, modeling a little, I was future in a South African female magazine called women and home where I modelled clothes. I loved the experience, it was something totally different than what I was used to.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2019 as a Queen?

To continue to use my platform to spread my message of crown up to all women and girls.

World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?

I want to be remembered as the ordinary women that did extraordinary things. The women that everybody will remember, they must always put back on their invisible crown.
