From my perspective, women empowerment can be anything which empowers women to be a good role model, to lead by example and be an inspiration to others so that we can accomplish our goals despite the challenges we encounter in our daily lives. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history. It was always my childhood dream to become a beauty queen. I found myself watching the Ms Universe Pageant and attending local beauty pageants competitions. When I migrated to Australia, I was invited on several occasions to join the Philippine Fiesta of Victoria Inc. Queen and Charity Pageant. However, I wasn’t able to commit at the time. In 2018, a friend who was a committee member of the Philippine Fiesta of Victoria Inc. Queen and Charity Pageant asked me to be a contestant, so I joined the Philippine Fiesta of Victoria Inc. Queen and Charity 2018. I felt this was a perfect opportunity for me to help the community to help raise funds for the constructions of the Philippine Community Building in Melbourne Australia. I felt privileged to be able to raise funds for the Filipino community. It was hard work raising money, but I really enjoyed the experience knowing I was part of the charity and able to give back to the Filipino community. I was delighted to be chosen by Face Australia Promotion and Pageantry to represent my hometown Mindanao, Philippines to compete in the International Mrs. Asian Mum of the Year in the Asia Pacific Beauty Fashion and Friendship Festival 2019 held Singapore. Joining the beauty pageant helped me gain back my self-confidence after being a victim and a survivor of domestic violence and I've learnt to value myself again. My other inspiration is my daughter. Being a good role model to her is imperative and I hope she is inspired to follow my footsteps and become a confident woman and to follow her dreams and aspirations. World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete your current title? The Singapore experience was a fantastic platform to empower and be an advocate to children and mothers worldwide who are victims and survivors of domestic violence.
