World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Can you share a bit about who you are? Like, what are your passions outside of the pageant world?

I am 64 years old now. After working very hard in a male-dominated business field for over 30 years, I succeeded in early happy retirement in 2015. I love to travel and make new friends.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I’m curious about your education journey. What's it been like for you, any particular highlights or challenges?

When I studied English Literature, I was interested in go abroad, especially USA. It was precious memories that my first overseas experience spent with kind host families in 1980.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Women's empowerment is such a key topic. What does it mean to you personally?

Empowerment people is important. As I couldn’t have confidence before, so, I can understand who suffering lack of self-esteem. I would like to empower people who want to step forward. We can help each other.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How did you get into pageants? What sparked your interest initially?

I started in Mrs. Contest in 2020, when I was 60. I had no knowledge about Mrs. contest, I just had curiosity at first. To tell the truth, when I was an executive, my priority was business , not interested in beauty. So, I decided to challenge new field at 60years.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What motivated you to participate in your first pageant? Was there a defining moment?

Just memory for 60’s.

In 2020, pandemic changed our daily life. As I couldn’t go abroad, I found something new challenging experience, that is, to join pageantry.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Why did you choose to compete for your current title? What made it stand out for you?

I competed in Virgelia pageant in Redondo Beach, California because  I love their objective, Unity of Diversity. I respect every cultures in the world. My goal is achievement of world peace. I know it is very difficult to achieve, but I believe we can start from be friends each other. I thought to participate world pageant is one of the way.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I'd love to know more about your pageant system. Could you explain what it’s all about?

Virgelia beauty pageant inspires women of all ages since from 35 years ago.

2023 is our 35th anniversary.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What do you think sets your pageant director apart from others?

They helped me understand my strong and weak point. Especially, I am grateful that they recognized my character and gave appropriate advice.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: During competitions, what are the key things you're judged on?

We are judged national costume, swimsuit (miss and teen girl), evening gown competition and dance on stage.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What’s your competition experience been like? Any memorable moments or learnings?

Though I tried to be positive, sometimes, I lost my confidence. My coach, Steven lifted me up by his magical words for cheering. I learned how important to believe in myself and accept other’s sincere advice.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Would you recommend your pageant system to others? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend this pageant. Because we can improve ourselves in pageant journey. I believe that anyone can make their dreams come true.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell me about your advocacy or volunteer work. What causes are you passionate about?

I don’t have a volunteer work now. But, I would like to empower people who need support. If it is helpful for them, I would like to share all experiences of my life.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: With your title, what kinds of appearances or activities have you been involved in?

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Can you share some of your achievements, both in and outside of pageantry?

My biggest achievements have been in Virgelia Productions pageant, Mrs. Senior Global 2023. Others are Mrs. of the year Aichi Eternal Grand Prix 2022, Mrs. of the year World 2023 Semi Grand Prix in Tokyo

In 2016, I travelled around the world by myself.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: In such a competitive field, what do you think makes you stand out?

I think my cheerful attitude and smile was highly evaluated.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I can only imagine how it feels to win. What was going through your mind when your name was announced as the winner?

I was overwhelmed with love and gratitude and couldn’t stop crying. I recalled my supporters and friends face in Japan.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What does being a Beauty Queen mean to you?

It means true beauty Queens have beauty inside out. A beauty queen is who can inspire and influence to people to be better.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How have pageants impacted your life?

Pageants have taken me to a whole new world. The experience gave me self confidence and I grow as a matured woman more.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How have pageants influenced your self-esteem and body image?

I could have more confident and love to myself. Pageantry journey gave me joy of life.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: You’re an inspiration to many. How does that feel, and what message do you want to share with others?

To win the title, it is honored and joy for me. I would like to tell that every woman are all beautiful. Please have self-confidence and respect other people.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What’s your strategy for captivating the judges on stage?

My strategy was to show my big smile from bottom of my heart. In fact, I was so happy to be there, so, my atmosphere captivated the judges. I think.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How do you prepare for competitions? Any specific routines or practices?

I try to take care of my body and mental health. Walking, gym exercise, makeup, dancing lessons and mental training. 


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Got any tips for nailing the perfect pageant walk?

Studying videos and have lessons of your favorite coach.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Choosing the right pageant dress can be crucial. What are your tips for making the best choice?

Choose a color and style that fits for your body.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Interview rounds can be tricky. What are your strategies for a winning interview?

Though no interview in stages at our pageant, I think the key is to answer clearly by your own words.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Looking back, is there a moment in a competition you wish you could redo?

In national costume competition, I hold sash the wrong side. So, I couldn’t show Japan representative. It was a regrettable mistake.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What common mistakes do you see others making in contests?

I don’t remember nothing special.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Do you have any experience in modeling or acting?

Yes, I have experiences as fashion and commercial model.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your plans or goals for the upcoming year as a Queen?

My plan is to empower people who need to some help.


World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Finally, what kind of legacy do you hope to leave behind?

I hope to be known as a pioneer of ageless beauty queen. I would like to be a role model of independent women.
