World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you? Women empowerment means not competing against each other. We inspire. Every woman is unique and beautiful on her own. There is no tool for development more effective than the empowerment of women.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history. This is my very first experience in a Beauty Pageant.

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant? I've been trying to gather my courage to go for an Audition since few years ago. It was not until the moment my EX husband (he was only 43 years old and we were still very good friend then) succumbed to lung infection in February last year, I plucked up my courage and went for the Audition on 29 July 2018 for Mrs Malaysia International Global 2019 title. Life is a one-time offer. It is so fragile. I was asking myself - if I'm not going for the things I've been dreaming of doing, then when? We only live once.

World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title? Choosing the right title in a Beauty Pageant is very important. My current title Mrs Malaysia International Global 2019 is organised by Mrs International Global (MIG) - one of the very few organisations in Malaysia which can professionally further our achievements into International platform. This is one of the main criterias that determined my choice when I was browsing on the title I should vie for.

World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about? Mrs International Global (MIG)'s motto is BE B.R.A.V.E, Stop Bullying. As a woman, we must be brave by not only accept, we must challenge and fight for our rights. Our pageant system emphasized on Stop Bullying, be it domestic violence, bullying amongst children or even siblings / step siblings, parents in law or stepparent.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition? Confidence. Maturity. Courageous. Brave. In my opinion, these are the few criterias judges traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition. I'm extremely happy to have met many genuine friends throughout my pageantry journey. To those who's been spreading negative comments about how ugly your friendly competitors could be, allow me to prove you wrong. Having known all my pageant sisters is one of the greatest achievements I've built so far, not forgetting our Mentors who are always there for us!

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for. I was mentally bullied by my EX mother in law during my 4 years marriage (2002-2006). I was having emotional and mental difficulties while staying under the same roof with my parents in law. I gathered my courage, filed for divorce and moved on. I am now happily married with my current husband after 11 years of courtship. If it wasn't because I was brave enough to put a fullstop on my toxic relationship, I wouldn't be living a healthy and happy life with my husband, my biological son together with my 2 stepson currently. I would love take this opportunity to encourage women who have failed in their previous marriage to live your life once again despite having been through hurtful experiences. We deserve to be who we want to be. You just need to brave.

World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title? I'm very sure this title will enable me to shine out as an inspirational individual in the near future. More appearances have been lined up ahead and I'm very much looking forward to motivate more individuals in need.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements? Having won the title enabled me to prove my philosophy in life to my son - Nothing Is Impossible. I always believe in positive parenting with leading by example. Participating in Beauty Pageant isn't an easy journey. I was so impressed the moment my son ran up to the stage right after I was crowned by saying 'Mommy, you really did it Oh My God' followed with a big hug. I replied him, Baby, remember I told you Nothing Is Impossible when you worked hard for what you desire? He agreed proudly. Isn't that an awesome achievement as a parent? For me, it definitely is.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over? Malaysia is a multi-racial country. Being able to present my self introduction speech in 3 main languages (Bahasa Malaysia, English and Chinese) certainly added some bonus points for myself, I'm sure. Besides, showing your winning smile definitely melt the judges' hearts too!

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls? My positive vibes, sincerity, poise, confidence and willing to share about everything I know to my fellow pageant sisters.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner. It was a heart-pumping moment. My title is the main title and it was the last title being announced on our Grand Final night. I was stunned for a few seconds before I stepped out in disbelief mode to receive my crown.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen? Recognition, personal development, communication skills, confidence and handling the stress, pressure and disappointments in life are the benefits you'll take with you from doing pageants. And if you really enjoy modeling, hair, makeup and fashion, these are the fun you will have while learning these life lessons which is priceless.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life? Beauty pageants are beneficial to society because they supply contestants with necessities such as communication and confidence, they foster goals, and teach discipline. Going through the experience in a beauty pageant can help you to go for other things you want and help push you forward.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image? It boosted up my self-esteem to another level. I managed to overcome my stage fright and performed with self-confidence. Feeling good about your body image is healthy and it reflects how comfortable a person feels in their body.

World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel? Beauty pageant can be an important focus of national or international pride. As a Beauty Queen, it gives me an opportunity to enrich not only my own life, but the lives of other women. The feeling is simply awesome when you can confidently inspire others to be a better version of themselves.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk? Hold your head high while on stage and pretend that crown's already on your head. It is vital to eat and sleep well before a pageant, and there is no need to starve yourself because no matter what your size, your confidence and poise is what will take you on to the next stage of competition.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress? The important thing is to get a gown that you would feel most beautiful and confident in. That confidence will translate in how you would perform in the competition. That’s why it is crucial to make the right choice in your gown.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview? Be true to judges. Speak about yourself, your journey and what you are focusing on achieving through a pageantry. Have faith in yourself.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition? A nice to-do list helps me tremendously in keeping the tasks need to be done or prepared in proper order. Maintain a humorous life. Do whatever makes you happy, be with whoever makes you smile. When you feel good, everything comes naturally.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it? My catwalk, perhaps. I could've done better with more practice.

World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest? Pageant shoes is very important. Apart from being comfortable, it should not distract the judges from your dress and overall look. Avoid wearing the wrong pair of heels. When you are discomfort, it shows obviously on your face.

World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience? No related experience for both at this moment.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2019 as a Queen? It has taken me years to summon up the courage I have now. I would love to say to women who are struggling with self-confidence - You are unique. No one can give what you can give. If you feel passionate about something, stand up and say so. I'm determined to be their role model by standing up for myself and my vision and I'm ready to be there for them.

World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? My husband intend to build a shelf to display my crowns. He commented how nice it would be for you to share your pageantry journey while showing your crown to our grandchildren when we grow old. This is one achievement you can proudly pass down to our next generation. You did it with complete integrity. I am so proud of you. World Class Beauty Queens Magazine would like to say thank you to Nichole Ang Mrs Malaysia International Global 2019 for this wonderful interview.
