I'm an information designer, model, actress, pageant queen and director based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, but I operate globally. I was born in the Yellowknife, North West Territories, Canada. My mother is from the Philippines & my father is from Mozambique. Studying languages and graphic design were big hobbies of mine as a teen. I studied 7 languages including French & Japanese. My life changed when I began pageantry at the age of 17. I just did it to make new friends, try new experiences, and just break out of my shell. I expected it to be a one-time thing, but every year I got an offer so from 2013 to 2021 I have been a reigning queen representing Canada and Philippines. I have had so much success including 2nd runner up for the title of Miss Teen Universe Philippines in 2014 & Miss Petite Universe Canada 2017. I recently retired as I completed my ultimate reign as Miss World International 2019 & 2020... but I am open to coming back into the scene for the right opportunity; I feel like I have achieved more than enough in under a decade. In 2020, I graduated Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta with a bachelor's degree in information design and a minor in marketing. Since graduated, I have expanded my career in modeling, acting, and pageantry. I had my directorial debut as a national pageant director for an international teen pageant and I am excited for my next venture being the director for the World International brand in Canada. I also recently landed an opportunity as Communications Director for Yugen PR in Dubai. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Please tell us about your modeling experience. A grand highlight of my career: seeing myself on billboards in New York City's Times Square. One of them during NYFW where I also got to walk for Art Infinitum's La Vitae collection thanks to one of my agency's QB Elite Models & Talent. I have worked with Art Infinitum and QB Elite in Seattle and most recently, LA. Apart from that, I have done a few small runway shows in Alberta and Taner in Mexico. I'm also on Seasons 1 & 2 of the reality pitch pilots of Queen of the Crowned in production in Miami that features my Miss World International journey. I have gotten to do background on shows like The Last of Us, Under the Banner of Heaven, and Guilty Party. I would love to really dig into acting, seeing myself appear for even a second on screen is the best feeling. True crime recreations for Friends Speak II were my fave because the crew at Pyramid Productions were so amazing to work with and I got to play many roles like Whitney Houston and various chatacters in the R. Kelly's episode. I did some stock image shoots, my favourite was a fashionable winter photoshoot with my puppy. Over the years, I also have done promotional content for my sponsors like: Innovative Aesthetic Solutions with Dr. Hermann Pirela (he specializes in body aesthetics like BodyFX and micropen) & Classique Beauty Atelier by Mariana Moraru who also created the skincare brand CellVie. I've lost count of all the things I've done, but these are my most notable that came to mind. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Bikini modeling is often done very early in the morning to catch that perfect lighting, are you a morning person and if not what is your strategy for 6am shoots where you have to already have your hair and makeup done? Oof. I am not a morning person AT ALL--BUT I am a professional. No matter what I am there to get THE shot and I land it every time and quick. I don't mind getting up early for the creative process. Bringing a vision to life and celebrating beauty is a rewarding feeling. You power through. There are plenty of times I have shot with one 4 hours of sleep. I'm a trooper. Having a playlist of songs that get you energized is also helpful. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Tell us about your first big break into modeling, what was the first modeling job you did and how were you discovered? I was discovered through pageantry. People would see me onstage and offer me opportunities all the time. I never thought of myself as a model even going into the pageant, but modeling is part of the gig. Throughout my career I have done plenty of TFP and didn't know how to get an agent or work. I don’t recall my first paid shoot. I do recall that I felt I was paid more to appear in music videos. I did a few runway shows for local businesses in Alberta. When I was Miss Petite Universe Canada, I did an evening gown runway in Saltillo, Mexico so that was cool. That was the year things really began to elevate for me. Most of my experiences modelling came to me through TFP gigs or connections and pageantry. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: For the image to come out perfect you have to really connect with the photographer to get the pose captured just right with the lighting and angle and mood of the shoot. How do you typically connect with a photographer you just met on set? The best way to talk with a photographer is to take the time to discuss the vision for the photoshoot and your photoshoot methodology. Get comfortable through allowing yourselves to have fun, make jokes, be yourselves. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: There are so many iconic bikini poses that create this image captured in time that stand out and are widely known even by people not connected to the modeling world, what is your favorite iconic bikini pose and why? The first thing that comes to mind is Princess Leia Organa in Jabba’s Palace. One of my favourite movie franchises is Star Wars so one day I would like to model that, honestly. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Do you have agency or do you freelance? I didn’t have time or the knowledge on how to hunt for gigs myself, especially since I was primarily a full time student until 2020. I freelanced from 2013-2020 getting gigs mostly via Facebook groups, Instagram, and word of mouth. I still do freelance basically, but I also signed with two agencies so far without a stipulation of exclusivity. It makes a world of difference to have an agency behind you: more opportunities, better pay, and it feels safer. In 2021, I signed with Faces of Wendy based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada where I launched my acting career. Later that year, I signed with Miami-based, international agency, QB Elite Model & Talent as one of their Top Models. I am very happy to have begun a journey with them as I have a close-knit sisterhood within the agency and have had some wild adventures working with them in Seattle, New York, and Los Angeles thus far! They even got me my first NYFW runway gig and my 2nd Times Square Billboard appearance. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Which designers did you have a chance to model for? I’ve modeled for a few small designers for swimwear, evening gowns, and Alberta-based boutiques. I’ve been having a blast being one of the faces of Size Me Fashions. The past couple of months I have been working closely with Art Infinitum. I have been modeling their La Vitae Collection in Seattle, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Calgary. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Have you modeled in any fashion shows? I have modeled in a couple of small fashion shows for Alberta-based boutiques and a few bridal shows. When I was Miss Petite Universe Canada, I did an evening gown runway in Saltillo, Mexico so that was cool. My next big runway was modeling for Art Infinitum's NYFW show this year. I definitely feel motivated to do more runway. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Certain colors look good on certain people based on a variety of factors, what colors look best on you and which one is your favorite to model in? Designers seem to like dressing me in various shades or blue. I have been rocking alot if green dresses lately--especially sage. Though, I an gravitating towards more pale and earthy tones such as light brown, beige, light gray, sage, and such. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: When you are considering taking a modeling job what factors come into play. Do you have a list of items that are deal breakers, or a list of items that seal the deal for you? Tell us about your ideal modeling job and what that looks like. Right now my deal breaker is full nudity. I take into account whether the project will serve me creatively as it does the client. My ideal modeling job consists of travel, being paid a fair rate, working with people that clearly value me and everyone involved in the creative process. Oh! Also great accommodation! I love a good "model house" experience! Opportunities for adventures and making good friends! World Class Bikini Models Magazine: What would you consider your biggest achievement as a model so far? I was recently published in a French fashion magazine--which is WOW! BUT nothing beats seeing myself on a billboard on Times Square! Not once, but TWICE. I never imagined such a thing for myself, so it feels completely unreal. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Do you have any bikini models that you look up to? Please tell us why you are inspired by that particular model. I idolized one supermodel as a teen, but as I grew older, I realized how they problematically reinforced poor industry standards. I focus on idolizing someone for their personality and positive actions. So a bikini model I idolize is actually a model who has featured in this magazine and a friend of mine-- Cassandra Bannon Wallace. She has a genuine, kind, philanthropic, and caring heart; she's also one of the strongest and bravest women I've met in my entire life. Cassandra is truly a role model. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Describe how you prepare for an upcoming shoot. Tell us about your routine, do you have any superstitious rituals, a certain number of hours of sleep, or specific music you hype yourself up to, or beauty routine you swear by? The funny thing is I've had TONS of shoots where I get very little sleep, but still deliver amazing work. Hair and makeup can take quite a long time and I always put on my latest playlist to jam out to or catch up on my YouTube 'Watch Later'--it puts me in a great mood! One shoot day, I always make sure to pay careful attention to my skin prep for a smooth and co-operative canvas--exfoliate, SPF moisturizer, and a proper primer. My ultimate exfoliator is the CellVie Cherry Wine Peel~the scent alone definitely puts me in a good vibe. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: What is the best piece of modeling advice you have received in your career that you would like to share with aspiring models? Have FUN and be kind. Every set I go on I try to foster good energy--get silly, crack jokes--be yourself! Make any opportunity to form new bonds. Enjoy yourself and the rest will fall into place. Everyone produces better work with good energy all around! Don't tell anyone you CAN'T because you CAN. One of the first things I heard in this industry was if you are not tall and skinny forget about it a career as a model. I have never been tall or exceptionally skinny and yet I have successfully forged a career for myself in this industry--I even became Miss World International. You CAN be a model. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Every model has a pose or part of their body that they like to focus on because it is the money shot of them. What is your favorite feature or pose for you personally? Honestly I've always appreciated my cleavage in shots! However, I think my eyes are powerful. I love a good cat eye to really accentuate the shape. You know what they say, the eyes are windows to the soul. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Every person can make an impact on the world, what is one thing you are doing to make the world a brighter place? Throughout my pageant career, my platform has been to encourage youth to try new experiences. The willingness to put yourself out there can open so many doors--it did for me! I'm proud to say that this year, I help jumpstart the acting, pageant, and modelling careers of many women and girls in Canada. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: For every passion/need there is a nonprofit or charity that promotes or helps fill this need. What is your favorite nonprofit or charity and why is it your favorite? The Boys & Girls Club is my favourite! I volunteered with them in high school during these special events that had youth try all sorts of new activities. The event could lead to young people discover their passions and make friends. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Who is your dream designer to model for or your dream modeling job? What steps are you currently taking to make this dream a reality? I would love to model for Iris Van Herpen, Balmain, or Valdrin! Just AMAZING work that I've admired for so long. I am working with agencies more than ever and making the effort to travel and prioritize my career and improving my skillset with practice.
