World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Can you share a bit about who you are? Like, what are your passions outside of the pageant world?
I’ve always had a strong passion for personal development, but after my car accident, it became my main focus in life. I believe that constantly striving to be the best version of yourself is essential, and I work hard every day to make that a reality.
In addition to that, I’m also the proud owner of my own business, Msea Marketing Agency, which I’ve been running for a year and a half. Through Msea, I help brands and companies show the best version of themselves both online and offline. It’s my own little pink bubble where I pour my heart and soul into every project with so much passion.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I’m curious about your education journey. What's it been like for you, any particular highlights or challenges?
As a young girl, I always dreamed of owning my own marketing agency—it was my big goal. Finding the right education to prepare me for that dream was a bit of a journey. By the time I graduated, I had already built a solid network. I completed my degree in Visual Communication during the COVID period, successfully earning my bachelor’s degree. Throughout my studies, I focused on marketing and business management courses, but my initial ambition was in the event industry, where I had already made great connections. I planned to start my career in event marketing, but the pandemic completely shattered those plans.
To stay active during that time, I took a summer job at a department store, and after some hard work, I was promoted to Assistant Department Manager. I had always thought that I needed to gain experience working for other companies before starting my own business. However, after 1.5 years in this role, I was involved in a serious car accident, which left me physically and mentally unable to continue in that position. The recovery period was tough, but I used it as an opportunity to search for something I could do, something I loved. And that’s when it became clear: my own marketing agency—my lifelong dream. It was almost as if the universe pushed me in that direction.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Women's empowerment is such a key topic. What does it mean to you personally?
From a young age, I was surrounded by strong women in my life. I was raised by a single mother who made sure I never lacked anything and taught me to be independent from an early age. I earned my own income and had no problem working hard. My grandmother is also an incredibly strong woman who always speaks her mind, which made me value honesty deeply. I was also fortunate to have a teacher who instilled in me the belief that as a girl, I am just as powerful as a man.
I've been lucky to have such role models. However, I quickly noticed during high school and later in my studies and career that as a blonde woman who loved fashion, I wasn’t always taken seriously. Despite working just as hard as my classmates or colleagues, especially the male ones, I often faced assumptions based on my appearance. Sadly, I still experience this today.
But now, I stand much stronger and have learned how to navigate these situations. I know my worth, as well as the value of my business. My hope is that every girl is taught from a young age that she is worthy and equal. Unfortunately, ambitious women are still often put down.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How did you get into pageants? What sparked your interest initially?
I was first scouted through Facebook in 2015 for a local pageant. At the time, I was in a period where I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted in life, whether it was with work or school. On a whim, I decided that very morning to pack my bag, do my makeup, and just go for it – do something for myself. That turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I was cast and made it to the finals, and from there, I went on to participate in three more pageants.
The pageant world has truly shaped the person I am today. It has made me stronger, more confident, and has taught me to stand up for myself and say no when necessary. But most importantly, it strengthened my social and presentation skills. Thanks to pageants, I even excelled in school, something I never expected.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What motivated you to participate in your first pageant? Was there a defining moment?
As I mentioned earlier, I was scouted on Facebook in 2015 for a local pageant. At that time, I was in a bit of a crossroads in my life, unsure of what I wanted to do with work or school. I didn’t even fully understand what the pageant was all about or what it could bring me. But something in me wanted to go on an adventure, and I'm so glad I did! It turned out to be one of the most defining moments of my life.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Why did you choose to compete for your current title? What made it stand out for you?
I had always said that if I ever did another pageant, it would be an international one. What stood out to me about Miss Business Global was its focus on empowering businesswomen with a story to inspire young girls and women around the world. This really resonated with me, especially after my tough accident and the fact that I had just started my own business. It felt like a unique opportunity to use this platform not only to share my story, but also to offer encouragement to others who might be going through tough times, just like I had.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I'd love to know more about your pageant system. Could you explain what it’s all about?
Miss Business Global is a pageant for young, ambitious women who run their own businesses. It's all about sharing powerful stories that can inspire others around the world. The focus is on empowering businesswomen who are making a difference and using their platforms to motivate others to chase their dreams.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What do you think sets your pageant director apart from others?
What sets my pageant director apart is their genuine dedication to both the organization and the contestants from different countries. They truly care for everyone involved, treating the candidates like a big family. Their love for the pageant and its participants shines through in everything they do, always striving to give us the best experience possible.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: During competitions, what are the key things you're judged on?
During the competition, you're judged on a variety of aspects. One key factor is your behavior, both in group settings and individually. This includes how you interact during business visits and with your fellow contestants. You’re also judged during the interview round, the talent round, and for your national costume. Of course, your motivation and how actively you participate matter as well. And let's not forget about the catwalk – how you walk and present yourself is always important!
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What’s your competition experience been like? Any memorable moments or learnings?
The entire pageant experience was unforgettable. It was my first time traveling alone and outside of Europe, so being in Vietnam was already a huge deal for me. What stood out the most was how well I connected with the other contestants. I had expected cultural differences to create challenges, but it was quite the opposite. Despite our diverse backgrounds, we quickly formed a bond – it was like creating a sisterhood. Even though we came from different cultures on the surface, we were all alike at heart.
One of the most memorable moments for me was when I performed the talent show with "Colors of the Wind." I dedicated it to my late grandfather, and I created a video montage showcasing my life and home. The entire room, including myself, was deeply moved. It was a moment I'll never forget.
At the awards ceremony, I won Best Talent, Best Interview, and placed 2nd Runner-Up. After everything I had been through, this felt like the cherry on top of all the hard work I’d put into bettering myself. It was a truly special moment that I’ll always cherish.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Would you recommend your pageant system to others? If so, why?
Absolutely, I would highly recommend the Miss Business Global pageant to others! If you're a businesswoman with a story to share and a passion to inspire, this is the perfect platform for you. It's an incredibly unique experience, especially when it comes to networking with women from all around the world. How often do you get the opportunity to connect with so many different nationalities and cultures? It's truly a once-in-a-lifetime chance to grow both personally and professionally.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Tell me about your advocacy or volunteer work. What causes are you passionate about?
My advocacy is all about helping people who are going through dark times, guiding them to find the light again. Having been in a similar place myself, I understand the importance of knowing you're not alone. There’s always hope, no matter how tough things may seem. I want to share that message of positivity and hope, to remind others that they too can rise above difficult times. Even if I can help just a handful of people, that would mean the world to me.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: With your title, what kinds of appearances or activities have you been involved in?
So far, my journey with this title has been filled with exciting appearances, mainly interviews in magazines and online platforms, as well as photoshoots. But what I’m especially grateful for is the opportunity it has given me to elevate my business, Msea Marketing Agency. The visibility has allowed me to share my story and connect with even more people. I'm really looking forward to this year, as I have some incredibly exciting projects in the works for Msea. You can expect to hear more about them in the coming months!
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Can you share some of your achievements, both in and outside of pageantry?
One of my proudest achievements is winning three titles in pageantry, but what truly stands out to me is my journey of healing and rebuilding after my car accident. It was a tough period, but I managed to come out stronger. Another major achievement has been starting my own business, Msea Marketing Agency, my "pink bubble." It's been amazing to build it exactly the way I envisioned it.
On top of that, performing on an international stage for the first time ever was an unforgettable moment. But above all, my greatest achievement is the bond I have with my family — particularly my mother, grandmother, and late grandfather. We've built something beautiful over the years, and I’m incredibly blessed to have such a close-knit family. Not many people can say that their mother is their best friend and that they share such a strong connection with their grandparents. They helped raise me, and for that, I’ll be forever grateful. Until death do us part.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: In such a competitive field, what do you think makes you stand out?
What made me stand out was simply being myself. Besides being one of the few tall blondes — who also happened to love everything pink (hint hint, that’s how I earned the nickname "the Business Barbie") — I stayed true to who I am throughout the competition. I’m a social butterfly by nature and I truly enjoyed my time with the other candidates and the activities we took part in.
I wasn’t there with the mindset of I have to win. I was just deeply grateful to be part of such a unique and inspiring experience. And I think that genuine joy and authenticity is what really stood out to others. I believe people can sense when someone is truly present, having fun, and being real — and that was me.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: I can only imagine how it feels to win. What was going through your mind when your name was announced as the winner?
My name was announced three times — and honestly, it felt like a dream. I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t even enter the pageant with the intention to win. For me, I had already won simply by being there — by making that solo trip to Vietnam after everything I had been through.
Standing on that stage, receiving those titles, felt like the final piece of a very emotional and empowering journey. What touched me the most was seeing and feeling that most of the other contestants were genuinely happy for me. That meant the world to me. I wanted to make them proud too — not just myself.
The titles weren’t just symbols of victory; they were a celebration of resilience, courage, and connection. It was a moment I’ll carry with me forever.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What does being a Beauty Queen mean to you?
To me, being a Beauty Queen is all about radiating confidence and being a light for others. It’s about having a platform where you can truly inspire — not by being perfect, but by being real, relatable, and kind.
It means carrying yourself with grace while still being the girl who feels like everyone’s best friend. Someone who uplifts, supports, and reminds others of their worth.
Above all, it’s about being someone you can be proud of when you look in the mirror — knowing you’ve stayed true to who you are, and using your voice to make a difference.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How have pageants impacted your life?
Pageants have truly transformed my life. I’ve grown into a more confident, empowered version of myself. They helped me step out of my shell, strengthen my social and presentation skills, and discover a deep pride in who I am — inside and out.
Every competition pushed me to keep developing, dreaming bigger, and striving for the best version of me. I didn’t just grow personally, I also built an incredible network of inspiring women from around the world — many of whom I still speak to regularly.
And maybe the most special thing of all: from every pageant, I’ve walked away with a new best friend. That sisterhood is something I’ll always treasure. The support I’ve received — even for my business — shows how powerful and beautiful this journey has been.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How have pageants influenced your self-esteem and body image?
Pageants have truly empowered me to own who I am — unapologetically. I’ve become so much more confident in myself, in my voice, and in standing up for what I believe in. It taught me to say “no” when needed, and to say “yes” to myself.
I’ve learned to be proud of who I am — both inside and out. Because how can you inspire others and be a light for the world, if you don’t feel that light within yourself first? These experiences helped me embrace my worth, my beauty, and my story — and now I carry that with pride, like a crown I wear every day.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: You’re an inspiration to many. How does that feel, and what message do you want to share with others?
It truly means the world to me if I can inspire others to become the very best version of themselves. To not only dream big, but to actually dare to chase those dreams — because that’s where your true power lies.
Don’t be afraid to fail. Every fall is simply a lesson in disguise, and every setback is a setup for your glow-up.
And for those going through a dark chapter… I hope my story can be that little spark of light. Just know: even in your storm, the sun is still shining somewhere. Keep going, keep growing — because your story isn’t over yet.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What’s your strategy for captivating the judges on stage?
My strategy? Simple — just be authentically me and fully enjoy every second on that stage. I don’t believe in pretending to be someone I’m not. When you’re truly yourself and you radiate joy, confidence, and gratitude, people feel that energy — and that’s what captivates.
Because real sparkle doesn’t come from the crown… it comes from within.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: How do you prepare for competitions? Any specific routines or practices?
Preparation for me is all about alignment — mind, body, and mission.
I practiced speaking English confidently on camera and rewatched myself to improve my delivery and presence. Since I hadn’t worn heels in a long time due to my accident, I also had to retrain myself to walk gracefully in them — a true “heels comeback moment.”
I did several photoshoots to get camera-ready, but most importantly, I made sure I was crystal clear about my values, vision, and the mission behind both my business and my title.
Because when you know exactly who you are and what you stand for, you walk into any room — or pageant — with power and purpose.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Got any tips for nailing the perfect pageant walk?
My ultimate tip? Hire catwalk coaches like Jethro Asia Sulayao and Red Bacon!
No joke — they helped me not only perfect my walk but also embrace the stage with confidence and pure joy. I’ll always be grateful for their support and the energy they brought to every rehearsal.
But beyond technique, the real secret is: get out of your head and into the moment. Don’t overthink how you’re walking or what people see — just feel it. Walk like you already wear the crown. With confidence, fun, and your unique sparkle, you’ll captivate the stage effortlessly.
Bonus tip: add a touch of your own signature flair — for me that’s a little bit of Barbie glam, a lot of pink power, and a mindset that says, “I belong here.”
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Choosing the right pageant dress can be crucial. What are your tips for making the best choice?
When it comes to finding the perfect pageant dress — trust your vision and your vibe. I had a specific color and silhouette in mind, and I swear I manifested it into existence… One day, there it was, just waiting for me!
My top tips?
- Try on multiple dresses, even the unexpected ones — you might be surprised!
- Always take photos and videos while wearing them. Seeing yourself through the camera lens gives you a whole new perspective.
- Choose the one that makes you feel like a queen — the one where you look in the mirror and think, “This is me.”
And remember, it’s not just about the dress, it’s about how you shine in it. When you feel confident, radiant, and aligned with your energy — that’s when the magic happens.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Interview rounds can be tricky. What are your strategies for a winning interview?
Interview rounds can be intimidating — but guess what? I actually won Best in Interview, so you’re asking the right girl!
Here’s my secret sparkle strategy:
- Be unapologetically YOU. Don’t try to be someone you’re not — your real story is powerful enough.
- Know your WHY. Why are you competing? Why do you want that crown? When your “why” is clear, your answers will naturally shine.
- Bring the good vibes. I was cheerful, positive, and genuinely having fun — and I think that’s exactly what they felt from me.
An interview isn’t just about giving the “perfect” answer — it’s about connecting with the judges and making them feel your energy. And when you’re glowing from the inside out, you’re already winning.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Looking back, is there a moment in a competition you wish you could redo?
Looking back, I would definitely tweak a couple of things — specifically my outfit choices during some of the business visits. Since it was my first time in Asia, I honestly had no clue what to expect from the temperature! I usually associate that kind of heat with beach vacations, so I didn’t pack the right materials or full outfits for those business events. Next time, I’ll make sure to bring fabrics that are both breathable and professional, so I’m always on-point and prepared, no matter the climate.
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What common mistakes do you see others making in contests?
The biggest mistake I see? Trying to be someone you’re not. It's tempting to pretend to be a different version of yourself to impress the judges and the organization, but will you truly be proud of yourself if that’s how you show up? You might win a title, but what about the experience? If you’ve spent the whole time pretending, have you really had the chance to enjoy it? The key is to stay authentic — after all, it’s so much better when your fellow contestants support and cheer for you because they see the real you!
Also, some girls still struggle with their confidence, even though they’re representing their country as winners! Trust me, you’ve already earned that spot, so embrace your worth and own it with pride. You’ve worked hard to get there, and you deserve to shine!
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Do you have any experience in modeling or acting?
Yes, I’ve had some experience in modeling and acting! I’ve done hostess work and modeled for a few local fashion shows and photoshoots. It’s always been such a fun experience to step into different roles and bring out the best version of myself for the camera!
Also recently, I’ve really started to get into TikTok (check me out @by_marinavdv)! Does that count as acting too? Because, honestly, I’m loving the creativity and expression it lets me explore!
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: What are your plans or goals for the upcoming year as a Queen?
I’m currently working on a ton of exciting projects with Msea Marketing Agency, and they perfectly align with my title as a Queen! While I can’t spill all the tea just yet, I can tell you that everything revolves around inspiring others and sharing my journey. It’s all about spreading positivity, empowering others to follow their dreams, and using my platform to encourage growth and self-belief.
I’m planning some super exciting things for the summer—trust me, you won’t want to miss it! I can’t wait to continue growing my brand and bringing more light to the world. Stay tuned for more updates soon...
World Class Beauty Queens Magazine: Finally, what kind of legacy do you hope to leave behind?
I hope to leave behind a legacy where the people closest to me, especially myself, can feel proud. I want to live a life full of happiness, and give others the light and hope that I’ve sometimes had to search so hard for myself. I aspire to be an inspiration for every generation, showing them that anything is possible with the right mindset and perseverance.
In the end, it's not about the titles or achievements, but about the impact you leave in the hearts of others.
