World Class Models Magazine: Please tell us about yourself.

Tell you about me .. Well, I am of Reunion origin. I lived all my childhood and adolescence in Reunion. I came to settle in France three years ago to be able to continue my studies as a nurse. Today I am a registered nurse. I also intend to continue my studies in childcare in order to specialize as a childcare nurse. I am a very active person. While waiting for my return to school, I decided to work as a nurse during the day and in the evening I look after children.

I hope to be able to return to my native island in the years that follow in order to find my family but especially my mother who still lives there.

World Class Models Magazine: Please tell us about your modeling experience.

I don't have a lot of experience as a model. I started to take an interest in this environment in 2016. During this year, I decided to participate in the election of Miss Saint-Gilles 2016 (in Reunion Island). It was with great surprise that I was elected Miss. I was very proud to be able to represent my city for a year. Subsequently, I concentrated on my studies. Until I decided to participate in the election of Miss Excellence Ile de France. And with great surprise, I also won this title. I love the feeling that the parade gives me, it's really a passion for me.

Subsequently, through the Campus des maquilleurs in Paris, I had the opportunity to meet Jean Marc Cresson who put me in touch with the designer of Etoffes et Silhouettes to take fashion photos. It was then that I also discovered another passion. I, however, am rather shy. One event leading to another I also took photos for the designer of La Parisienne Haute Couture, who makes sublime wedding dresses.

World Class Models Magazine: How were you discovered?

I will say during the Miss Excellence Ile de France election

World Class Models Magazine: What made you decide to become a model?

I was a very complex person because when I was little I was very fat. The other children were very mean to me. I went to school every day with a lump in my stomach because I knew I was going to have more insults. By participating in this election in 2016, I was able to fight my old demons and show everyone what I am capable of and especially to fulfill myself that I have changed today.

As I told you before, I love the feeling I get from the show and the photoshoots. I feel like I'm a different person, to fight my shyness and to be able to impose myself, to show that I exist and that I am able to do it.

World Class Models Magazine: What is your favorite style of modeling and why?

I'll say Tyra Banks. She is a truly splendid, classy woman. I have been following her since a very young age. I saw her in a lot of advertising and I also watched her TV show: "Top model USA". I remembered the evening trying to practice walking in my room after watching the show! She has a great career and is the first African-American to cover a prestigious magazine. And when she put on weight in 2007 I liked the strength she had to take charge and send people who criticized her for "her big butt" for a walk. World Class Models Magazine: Who's your mother agency and why did you choose them. Or why do you freelance?

I am not part of an agency. It may seem silly but I'm afraid that I will be refused and that I will be told that I do not meet their criteria. So I decided to go it alone on this! Maybe think about it in the future, I don't know yet

World Class Models Magazine: Which designers did had a chance to model for?

Then there is the designer of Etoffes et Silhouettes. I would like to give a little wink to the whole team who helped me during this shooting (Guénaelle, Jean Marc, Isadora, Steven). I had the opportunity to pose for this designer thanks to Isadora from the Makeup Artist Campus, who offered my profile to the team and who encouraged and supported me enormously. I had the chance to pose in beautiful haute couture outfit, just splendid.

Subsequently I also posed for La Parisienne Haute Couture, which I already knew. So I had the opportunity to pose in a sumptuous wedding dress.

World Class Models Magazine: Which designer was your favorite and why?

I don't really have a preference for designers. I felt comfortable and enjoyed posing in both cases. It was two different shoots, the outfits were different. So we can't choose! I like to dress like a princess with the beautiful dresses from La Parisienne Haute Couture, just as I like to be dressed classy and chic with the sumptuous outfits from Etoffes et Silhouettes.

World Class Models Magazine: Which major fashion shows have you modeled in?

I've never done a big fashion show.

World Class Models Magazine: Which fashion show was your favorite and why?

I've never done a big fashion show.

World Class Models Magazine: What is your biggest success as a model so far?

My greatest success as a model to date, I will say it is the journey I have taken to be the model I am today. I think that without the past experiences, the difficult times that I had in relation to my weight being small I would not have been the same to this day. And who knows I might not have fought so hard to be able to accept myself as I am today

World Class Models Magazine: Tell us about your upcoming fashion shows.

I don't know exactly which ones I'll turn to right now. Depending on the opportunities that will be offered to me I will see what I will get into.

World Class Models Magazine: Tell us about some of your favorite photoshoots.

I really enjoyed my photoshoot during the Etoffes et Silhouettes shoot because it was the first shoot I did with a designer. Everyone was very kind and patient with me. I was given a lot of advice that I was able to put into practice again in another shoot. We shared a wonderful time.

World Class Models Magazine: What is your secret to finding the right photographers to work with and why?

I don't easily trust photographers. Many pass themselves off as professionals or come to canvass us when nothing is near. It may sound crazy but when I am offered a shoot, I do a lot of research on the photographers, who he is, who has he worked with before, is he known for particular facts, etc. Once I see that everything is ok, I look at the photographer's work, what he offers on his social networks and if it fits my profile especially. I think it's important to research the person beforehand because these days we are never sure.

World Class Models Magazine: How do you prepare for a photoshoot?

Not having much experience (don't make fun of me), I watched on the internet videos of preparations on the poses, how to capture the light, etc. Then the day before I rest, relax by taking care of myself, of my skin. Be careful, however, to do skin care that you do not know at the risk of having a rash on D-Day!

World Class Models Magazine: Any modeling tips for up and coming models?

You always have to stay yourself and enjoy each experience, let go and live the moment. Of course you have to love fashion, style. You also need to know how to let go during a photo shoot or a fashion show.

World Class Models Magazine: Any video commercial or film experience?

No I have no experience in this field.

World Class Models Magazine: Do you volunteer for any cause?

I do not volunteer for a particular cause because, given the density of my studies, I unfortunately cannot participate 100%. However, there is one point that touches me and makes me particularly aware of it, it is the care of children and particularly children with autism spectrum disorders. For me it is important to contribute to the development of children's needs, whether physical, mental or social. Children have rights like all of us and the distress of families with a child with this pathology makes me want to act. It is for this reason that I wish to open a reception establishment for young children and also according to the feasibility of the project to create a reception structure for children suffering from this disorder to help families.

World Class Models Magazine: What is your personal fashion style?

Let's say that I don't have a particular style, I can wear streetwear as well as glamor chic, classic, etc.

World Class Models Magazine: What is your secret to success.

I think the best secret would be to believe it. Because the real strength is to believe in it! We have nothing without nothing.

World Class Models Magazine: What would you like to accomplish as a model in 2020.

I would like to be able to participate in a big parade if the situation allows it and if I also find this opportunity.

World Class Models Magazine: What would be your ultimate modeling dream job?

I think it could be posing for big brands. It would really be the consecration of a dream. Who knows I might have my chance one day.

World Class Models Magazine: What is your overall modeling goal?

My overall objective for the moment would be to continue to evolve and learn from such superb teams that I have been able to meet.

World Class Models Magazine: What legacy as a model would you like to leave behind?

This is a question that I have never asked myself. You put a glue on me! I think what I want everyone to know and remember is that anything is possible, no matter who we are or where we come from. You must always believe, believe in your dreams. And above all, act and give yourself the means to achieve them.

World Class Models Magazine: How can someone hire you for modeling jobs?

You just have to contact me on social networks, like instagram (Malika Laude). I am very active and respond very quickly. World Class Models Magazine would like to say thank you for this wonderful interview.
