Mutya ng Norala is celebrated every March in line with the celebration of Kamayadan Festival giving importance to the harvest and the hard works of the farmers and the Noralian people. Mutya ng Norala 2017 title is about representing the whole Norala to the province of South Cotabato by means of tourism , products and its people.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the special place you are from Norala and its people.
Norala is a simple town. It is surrounded by mountains and rice fields which is contained by happy and positive people.
World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do pageants?
I am more into sports and I can’t ever imagine joining Mutya ng Norala and I think its my family that motivated me because my aunt was a beauty queen and my family want me to follow her steps, that’s why I’m motivated to join Mutya ng Norala.
World Class Beauty Queens: There were 10 contestants competing, what made you a winner?
Advance preparation and confidence. Compared to other 9 candidates I had my trainings personal development and academic coaching 5 months before the competition and it made me boost my self confidence and that made me the Mutya ng Norala.
World Class Beauty Queens: To those readers that are unfamiliar with your system tell us what are you being judged on?
Mutya ng Norala is a simple pageant which the candidates are judged by wit , beauty , attitude and skills.
World Class Beauty Queens: What was the most difficult part of the competition for you?
The most difficult part of the competition was the production number where in every candidates were seen by the judges and the audience for the first time, and I believe that first impression lasts, my handler said to me that I need to be at my best because if I nailed the production the judges will look onto me in every upcoming segments of the pageant. That’s why I think the production was the most crucial part and thanks God I did get “Best in Production”
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your costume and who designed it?
Our costumes was designed by a single designer, we did have the same costumes but only colors varied, thanks to sir Keith Wilton, he did great with our costumes in collaboration with sir Richard Superio and the RBS production team
World Class Beauty Queens: How does it feel to take your first step on stage?
It feels very ecstatic, my first step be like...would it rattle me or should I feel it, thanks God I felt every moment and made me confident in my self that night
World Class Beauty Queens: What is your secret technique to connect with judges.
I think to connect with the judges my handler and trainer sir Norsil Hilaga told me to “Think Kill” it’s like slaying every people who watches with a balance of sophistication and elegance, but I think if you’re confident with yourself you can connect with anyone so long as you believe that you are the most beautiful lady during the competition.
World Class Beauty Queens: How often do you practice your pageant walk?
The pageant was last march and me and my handler started my pasarela walk training last November, and every afternoon until now, we are having our pasarela training and to tell you, I have the worst walk before but because of perseverance and hard work I achieved my “CAT WALK” :)
World Class Beauty Queens: How do you keep your self esteem high.
I think everyone of us have our self esteem, but for me if you’re just confident with yourself.. You can boost your self esteem and every time I’m into competition I put all my heart and believe in my self
World Class Beauty Queens: How did it feel when the crown touched your head at the crowning?
When the crown touches my head...it was very surreal and it feels like all the trainings, hard works, and problems we passed reminisced and it was like the happiness ran into my every veins and made me cry during the crowning moment...because for the last 10 years the crown was unreachable for our school the Notre Dame of Norala
World Class Beauty Queens: What does the crown symbolizes to you?
Crown for me is a gift , a product of hard works and a blessing, having the crown of Mutya ng Norala is a gift because for the last decade the crown was finally at our school the Notre Dame of Norala, a product of hard work because I cant ever imagine I can pass all the challenges that I faced before and during the competition, next is a blessing because I believe that God gave me a heart and a should to compete and with these, this crown is a blessing to bless others.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans as Mutya Ng Norala 2017?
For now, my only plan is to have a short break after months of training and to go back again to my training this summer for I’ll be the one to represent Norala for the upcoming, Mutya ng south Cotabato 2017 and I know it will be a very tough competition because women around the province will compete for the crown
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about working with RBS Production and all the activities you’ve done, video, photoshoots etc..
RBS production, did a very great job, the production team was very friendly and professional... I think they deserve more opportunities to hold national and maybe international pageants because they are aiming for quality and astonishing competition
World Class Beauty Queens: What legacy would you like to leave behind?
I think my legacy that I’ll be very proud of is that I will be very proud is to showcase the people of Norala that Noralians are very positive persons and as the Mutya ng Norala I’m ready to show to the whole province that golden heart that we have as Noralians.
World Class Beauty Queens: And the last question. How did competing in pageants helped your life?
Competing pageants helped me to go outside the box, breaking the barriers of my self, being able to show the other side of me and to boost my self confidence because I know that it will help me to communicate and meet more people to be able to understand differences and share my life to them.. And hope that they’ll be inspired
