World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself. I am an accountant and a mother to 2 beautiful children, I have been competing local in South Africa and International in the fitness industry. I got into the fitness industry because of health reasons and have gone on to win the World Natural Bikini Fitness title 3 times in America. I live on a farm with horses and my daughter and myself help disabled children to ride and be normal with horses.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you? Woman Empowerment is very important to me as for the longest time woman were not allowed to have a voice or progress in the financial field. I feel that woman deserve to be heard and given a change to advance. I feel that woman should be treated equally to men and have equal rights as men do.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history. I got divorced 3 years ago coming out of an abusive married, I was looking for something where I could heal myself and make a difference. That is where my pageant journey started, I am currently involved in a number of charities and community centers where I go and feed abandoned children, help get sponsorships for there various projects . I am currently teaching children in a township to read.
World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant? Coming out of an abusive marriage I wanted to help other woman and children heal as I was healing and I wanted to help rebuild their lives as I was doing mine.
Why I competed for my title:Â I competed for my title as I wanted to be part of what The African Queen Foundation stood for and that was Dignity for All.
World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about? The African pageants is a charity run pageant which helps assist disadvantage woman, girls and any one else that needs assistance. They dispute re washable, re useable sanitary pads to woman all over Africa.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition? The charity work we did, whether we would be a good ambassador for the African pageants, how we change people lives and what you would do going forward. The pageant is a working pageant.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition. My experience was one of the hardest yet rewarding things I have ever done in my life. I was pushed out of my comfort zone and I had to deal again with rejection. The rejection came when I would go to get assistance for my charities and the people who could would not . I have made friends for life and it has given me a purpose again and that is to help people change their lives.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for. I would like to assist to open up more community centers for the children giving them meals and education. I have volunteered to help teach children to read, look after them and I pay for two children to go to school.Â
World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title? I am recently crowned so my first appearance was to attend a fashion show where the charity organizers sell pre loved clothing to raise funds for their school projects.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements? Three time World bikini winner, helping two children attend school, winning the Mrs Africa Classic Title and being a mom to two beautiful children.
World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls? I stood out from the rest as I could relate to the pain and suffering that people where dealing with in their lives. I have strength, courage and determination to better my life and others. I am loving and caring and always put others needs before my needs.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner. Was one of the best moments of my life, my son who attended the finals jumped up with such pride for his mom. I felt totally blessed and honored that the judges had chosen me.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen? It has given me such pride and determination and has changed my life totally. I walk proud that I can assist others to better their life as I have done mine.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life? It has totally change me,given me a purpose and a cause. I am now walking forward to make a difference in other lives.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image? My looks have changed as I know am very conscious about how I look taking pride in myself. It has shown me how to totally love myself again and because of that my looks have improved.
World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel? I feel totally blessed to be able to inspire others girls to better their lives and to take pride in who they are.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over? Was to be true to myself at all times, to get the judges see my heart and the real person I am.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition? Preparing my mind was the hardest as I had to make myself believe I deserved to be on this journey, then came all the clothing preparation which was the hardest as we needed so many different clothes.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk? Your posture is the most important as it helps you to hold yourself up wright. Walking in lots of pairs of shoes is also very important.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress? Is very important as it must show your body and it must suit you.Â
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview? Be yourself, answer the questions honestly and accurately. Talk with confidence and make eye contact when the judges asks you a question. Always answer the question begging with the question.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it? Allowing the others girls to get to me, the others girls can be very cruel.
World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest? The girls start to fight with one another, they are not themselves, they try to impress the judges being false.
World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience? I competed in the Miss Pinetown pageant when I was 18 and I came third. I also use to model clothing.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen? I want to open up community centers as well as get involved in more charties . I would like to make as much difference to peoples lives as possible.
World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? To have more community centers opened and to teach woman and girls how to love them selves.
