Firstly, thank you World Class Beauty Queens Magazine for this interview!Growing up from a poor family background, and experiencing the hardships during my childhood days molded me into an independent woman of strengths that cherished family close to my heart. I am blissfully married to the Love of my life who 100% supportive of everything that I do and we had two lovely furkids (10 years old Chihuahua and 5 years old Corgi). Being a cabin crew for 12 years, gave me the opportunities to meet people from all walk of life. I decided to clip my wings and joined the corporate world started as Receptionist, receiving 5 Years Long Service Award and promoted to the role of Secretary.I believes in treating people with sincerity and I gained many true friendships which I am full of gratitude to.My Philosophy: Be my own kind of Beautiful; Confidently Beautiful with a Good Heart. World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you? I believe that being a woman is about not only Confidence, Charisma and Character but also the willingness to care and share as a woman of empowerment, being an inspiration to other women around me! I never have the opportunity to represent Singapore in an international pageant when I participated in Miss Singapore back in 2000. This unfulfilled dream was always on my mind but it came true when I was crowned as Mrs Singapore Worldwide 2018! This had given me the opportunity to represent my Beautiful Country in Mrs Worldwide 2019 and I am honoured to be the First Singapore Queen to pride Singapore with a new accolade as Mrs Worldwide 2019 Winner! I believes - Dare to Dream; Dream it Big. World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant? I always think that a Dream is a picture of Possibility and I can turn it into Reality with a positive mindset. I want to balance my own strengths and weakness as a person, gain confidence and raise my self-esteem, and prove to people that it is not impossible to have beauty and brains with a kind heart. World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title? I was honoured to be crowned as Mrs Singapore Worldwide 2018 and that given me the opportunity to represent my Beautiful Country, Singapore in Mrs Worldwide 2019.It was a childhood dream to be a Beauty Queen, to represent Singapore in an international pageant.I want to show the world with my voice and action, or rather the whole WORLDWIDE, I am confidently beautiful with a Heart that shines Mrs Worldwide's core values; Respect Nature. Live Healthily. Love Unconditionally. World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about? Mrs Worldwide is organised by Lumiere International Pageantry, Founder Ms. Justina Quek believes that Beauty Pageant is not only about beauty but also an opportunity to seek the better inner-self in you and deepen your self-confidence. This had given women a platform to acknowledge their beauty, knowledge and skills in front of the world, creating awareness of charitable contributions and given their nations to pride themselves with a new accolade internationally. World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition? During the week of activities with international delegates, we are being observe with references to our personalities, communication skills, punctuality, overall appearance and interactions with others.And most importantly, how we carried ourselves from the day we represented our countries. Pre-judging interview and Grand Finale Judges to assess our stage presence confidence and on overall presentation of beauty, poise, talent, public voting, catwalk, Q&A eloquence. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition. It had been a memorable pageantry journey, knowing ladies from all walk of life and enriched my life with new learning and exposure. I went beyond myself in another level to overcome my barriers, embrace my weaknesses, realizing my inner and outer potentials of being the beauty queen who is willing to care and share as a woman of empowerment and being an inspiration to other women. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for. It is both a responsibility and commitment to be crowned as Mrs Worldwide 2019. I had held this burning torch high up and used my voice and action as a role model to influence and be an inspiration to those around me by creating the awareness to help the less fortunate ones in our society. Using social media to find more people and resources to fund for various campaigns that are organized by Voluntary Welfare Organizations. World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title? I was involved with Charity Funding campaigns by Voluntary Welfare Organisations and also cordially invited as Judge for International Pageants and promoting the branding of Lumiere International Pageantry as a role model. World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements? My greatest milestone is being crowned as Mrs Worldwide 2019! My achievements will be meaningless without my family and friends in my life. I am the woman not only because of the woman I want to be, but because of the unconditional love and support from my family and loves ones, they had given me the strength to stand confidently in my imperfect perfection on the stage and witnessed my glory crowning moment as Mrs Singapore Worldwide 2018 and Mrs Worldwide 2019. World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?Each and every one of us is unique and equally deserves to represent our beautiful country in Mrs Worldwide 2019. And I strongly believes that the only challenger is MYSELF! My self-confidence and my positive attitude to stay focus while facing challenges during this journey made me stand out as I turned Obstacles into Opportunities of Strengths. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner. I had given my 100% effort and hoping to be crowned as the new queen, but my mind went blank that moment when SINGAPORE was announced as the WINNER with the ballroom’s overwhelming cheering for my winning! I was in tears and trembling in surreal when being crowned as the new reigning queen of Mrs Worldwide 2019! This moment had always been in my dream and I had turned it into reality. World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?I want to be a beauty queen with the crown not only on my head but also in my heart, as a crown on the head will reign for a year, but a crown in the heart will last the rest of my lifetime.Receiving the supports from my Queens Sisters and getting recognition from my Lumiere International Pageantry Family was the most fruitful gaining in pageantry life. World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life? It was a dynamic change in my life, I get to show people who Fanelle Chua really is, and also inspired others that nothing is impossible as the word itself already said: “I M POSSIBLE!” World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your self-esteem and body image? I had always believes in being my own kind of beautiful, and being in pageantry made me even more aware of how important this is. I gained deeper levels of strengthening my self-esteem and having greater ability to radiate with confidence that comes from within me. World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel? I felt honoured to be their positive vibes when they speak up to me because they believed in me and given me recognition of my efforts in pageantry. I guess I am the best role model of: Dare to Dream; Dream do come True. World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over? My Exuding Confidence is definitely the answer. World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition? I designed all my competition gowns in my ‘refreshed’ catwalk style with the thought of magnifying my strong factors to the judges. Constant reading to enrich my eloquence knowledge was essential for the Q&A segment.But most importantly, always having the Winner’s mindset – Winning is not a race against anyone other than myself. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk. CONFIDENT, the moment you stepped onto the stage with genuine smile and constant focused eye contact with the judges, prove to them that the stage belongs to you and that you're the best in the whole WORLDWIDE. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress? Always choose the style that compliment you, bring out the best points in you and most importantly, have the confident to flaunt it beautifully. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview? Be Confident, Smile and Be Yourself, because being Original is worth more than a copy. World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it? There is nothing that I want to redo in life because mistake are meant to be remembered and it pushed me to a higher height as it turned into opportunity of success. World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest? It's only natural to err as human but most importantly, we ladies walked through the downs as a team and face the mistakes by pulling each other up along the journey, real queens fixed each other’s crooked crowns. World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience? Started modelling since I'm 18 years old, but my opportunities came after my Miss Singapore pageants, I was invited for the casting of big projects; modelling for Adonis commercial and acting in a local movie. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen? As the role model Queen of Lumiere International Pageantry, I want to create the highest grandest vision possible for more women, encouraging them to step forward and prove their important role in this society.I will be actively involve with Voluntary Welfare Organizations and participating in my company charity committee for campaigns. Helping the less fortunate ones in our society and sharing the importance of charity contribution is not only by the form of monetary.
