World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.
I am a qualified Pediatric Dentist (Specialist), a Fashion Model by heart, an Entrepreneur by intrigue, a National Speaker by skill but above all of this I am a Mother by bliss. My name ‘Akshata’ signifies the positivity of a sacred ritual which is an integral part of the rich cultural heritage of India. My personality represents that woman who chose to rise up and fight the challenges that life hurled at her. My experiences are a proud rendition of my struggles and triumphs which have enriched me so much, that today my passion burns brighter than my fears.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?
Women Empowerment to me means equality, freedom and opportunity. It is this power that makes a woman feel liberated and be emancipated. The freedom of choice that a woman has, to make her own decisions and exercise her rights with equal status in a society that offers equal opportunities is my ideology of ‘Women Empowerment’.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.
Since my childhood I have always been enamoured by Pageantry. I dived into the fields of Fashion Modelling and Dentistry at the tender age of 18. My commitment to both of my careers ran parallel, was so demanding that life didn’t leave me any time for pageantry throughout my twenties. Although, I always believed that it would be my calling one day. It finally happened in my thirties. After marriage, I delivered a baby girl and had eye-opening encounters where I experienced preferences for a male child in the society. It was then that I realised I needed to voice my opinion through a bigger platform to advocate the causes I believed in and stood for, especially gender equality. I decided to participate in a National Pageant and use my platform to transform perspectives in the society encouraging people to accept gender neutrality.
World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?
It was the birth of my baby girl that inspired and rather pushed me to enter into my first pageant. My journey has been an example of being a fighter. I fought against post-partum depression and realised the need for its awareness in the society. I fought against all those critics who chose to critique my body shape that was a result of post pregnancy weight and some hormonal fluctuations. I learnt to develop a solid mind and a gritty attitude. It also made me realise a bigger need to create a world where the girl child receives acceptance and inclusion in the society, 'coz of the gender bias girls face in my country especially in rural areas. It made me develop a platform where I can advocate the idea that a girl deserves to receive equal opportunities. It made me convey that we as a society should begin respecting ‘skill’ and ‘the human potential’ irrespective of any bias.
World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?
My current title allows me to feel empowered. The ideology of this Pageant exudes so much dynamism and makes me believe that women are the fulcrums of the very fabric of society, exemplars of compassion and facilitators of opportunity; so much more than just physical appearance.
World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?
It is about conveying to the world, especially because I am competing in the Mrs Category, that ‘Marriage and Motherhood are not the end, but a new beginning of life.’ My current Pageant System (Ms. International World) makes me aspire to achieve more. They believe in empowering through a crown and they have empowered me already by allowing me to compete in their Pageant System.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?
Confidence, attitude, poise and the ability to initiate positive change by being a role model.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.
Yet to experience it.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.
My platform is about empowering women through THE INTERNATIONAL GLAMOUR PROJECT where they get an opportunity to find themselves. ‘If you can speak, you can positively influence’ and I carry this dogma with me everywhere I go and spread the love, faith and warmth around. Apart from motivating women, I also work with children combating issues like poverty, hunger, lack of education and oral health care. I also advocate environmental preservation for a sustainable ecosystem that can save the planet for the next generation.

Coming in the Top 3 of India was a dream come true !
World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?
To be a queen means to serve. There are various forms of service. I believe in serving through my words and by providing opportunities for all, especially women to get outside their comfort zone and grow. Also, as a queen if I can light up a face, I think every gem stone in that crown is worth its existence and shine.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?
It was a journey of self-discovery. It helped me realise my potential, self-worth and purpose in life.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your self-esteem and body image?
It helped me believe in self-love. For me, it has never been about being skinny or size zero. Having a fit body and mind has been my ideology. After my pregnancy phase, I put on 20 kilos (44 pounds). As a lactating mother, I suffered from Hyperlactation Syndrome followed by an Excessive Hunger Disorder. I took it upon me to heal myself and come back to what was my fit self. Enrolling myself in the National Pageant helped me reach my goal effectively as I worked on my physical and mental fitness with added dedication. So, yes! pageantry did play the role of a catalyst in helping me reach my target. Today, as a mother, a wife and as a woman, I make a conscious effort of taking care of myself, my family and promote a healthy lifestyle.
World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?
It feels like I found my purpose; born to break stereotypes.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?
Chin up, Chest out and Smile. Walk as if you own the moment.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?
The right Pageant Dress is something that defines your femininity and strength at the same time. I chose a Customized Pageant Gown from Aishwarya Design Studio that made me feel empowered.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?
Convey your story truthfully with poise, grace and calmness. Your success stories and failures are responsible for making you who you are.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?
I worked diligently on my fitness, my walk, my communication skills and my knowledge. I worked on framing my views in a more articulate manner.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?
I don’t regret anything. Whatever happens, happens for the good.
World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?
In my opinion, all the girls should focus on being a better version of themselves before having an opinion about others.

Yes. I have done 2000+ Photoshoots, multiple Ramp Shows and Music Videos, a dozen Television Advertisements and a Movie in an Indian Regional language as the Female Lead. I am also a trained actor from the ‘Actor Prepares Acting School’ located in Mumbai, India. I have also been the Brand Ambassador for A-list Brands.
