World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.

A Beauty Pageant Queen’s Journey- A Woman's bid  to help stamp out negative attitude towards beauty pageants.

My journey so far has been amazing and interesting from when Ii started out as a finalist for Miss England in 2002 to now becoming the first Miss/Ms Queen International title holder now 2019. Which has allowed myself to be a role model for all ages.

The pageant systems have allowed myself to raise awareness and fundraising for a number of

Wonderful causes from children’s charities and more- nspcc , Julia’s house, Bullies Out, Shelter, Mind UK, help the heroes, London pride to many more.

Myself-Didi Davidson originally from Devon now happily settled in Kent, in my forties, I have enjoyed taking part in a number of beauty pageants in a bid to show that the competition is about more than being a ‘pretty face.’

From entering Miss England for Miss World as Miss Devon/Miss Exeter, Miss Nigeria UK as Miss Lagos, Miss Commonwealth International as Miss Brazil Queen of Friends & Ms CW England, Miss Borough UK as Miss Bromley, Miss British Empire as Ms Greater London to Model Spokeperson for Azure Models by the lovely Pageant Mentor Mrs Diane Slater, Miss/Ms Queen International Queen 1st title winner.

Entering Miss Queen International 2019 has been a great pleasure. It has allowed myself to catwalk at the event held at the Claredon Hotel in Blackheath with other lovely finalists from all walks of life. Also, to have the opportunity to speak at the event to others about our briefs and hopes and to raise awareness and fundraising for a noble charity Shelter. For, which I was very proud Also, not only to win my main title but side awards of Queen International Press Queen Ambassador Award Winner for outstanding contribution to promoting The Q.I.P system through Press and Personal Appearances, supporting Shelter and along with the kindred spirit/Miss Congenality Award for team and supporting others award.

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?

As a woman of colour it was inspiration to be apart of the pageant world and succeed and showcase what I can do from catwalking, to public speaking and much more to show a larger audience what I was about and to continuing to do so.

World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?

I felt as a woman over the age of 25 years old (a lady in my 40s) it was good to break down age barriers and perceptions of what it is still to be a modern woman and I am glad I did as not only did I compete with some lovely finalists but showed on a large platform that regardless of age you can achieve.

World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?

The Queen International Pageant System is about - Our aim is to bring out your inner beauty, to help you find Confidence in yourself, and to groom you into an ambassador that can inspire others and help the vulnerable in your community in your fabulous style. For women to come together and protect each other as ‘Queen’s’ should.

‘Queen’ believe in equal opportunity, which means that we base our judging not only on how well our contestants perform on the night, but also on their preparations leading up to the finals. We are not looking for a certain “type” of person, but someone who is passionate, confident in their own skin and possesses the qualities to be a great role model.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?
