World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.

I grew up in the small beach town community called Bolivar Peninsula. I am the oldest of two siblings and am very close with my family. I am resilient, courageous, hardworking, and kind. I am passionate about life, following my dreams, and making a difference in the lives of others. I am a writer, professional in the mass media industry, and am also an actress and singer/songwriter. My faith in Jesus Christ is where I find my purpose, and is what inspires me to do my best and give my all each and every day.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you? To be confident in who you are, love yourself, and stand up for what's right. To work hard to diminish non equality in the workplace, family, and community. To speak words of life and to support and uplift other women.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history. I competed in pageants a couple times as a young girl, and have competed in the USA system for almost 4 years now. I won Miss Houston USA on my third attempt. I was previously 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up.

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant? I looked up to the women who I saw competing in beauty pageants on TV and always wanted to compete. I admired the beauty, elegance, bravery, and wisdom the women embodied and possessed.

World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title? Becoming Miss Houston USA has been a dream of mine for years. I love the prestigious city of Houston and wanted to share my heart and story with others and give back. Also, I've always loved all things glamorous and beauty pageants are the perfect fit! Competing for Miss Houston was also a way to challenge and better myself.

World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about? I compete in the USA system. It is the official system under the Miss Universe Organization.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition? Personal Interview, Swimsuit/Fitness, and Evening Gown.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition. Even though sometimes difficult, I've always loved the whole pageant experience. The personal growth process during the preparation period and being on stage competing. While on stage I feel empowered, beautiful, and strong.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for. My platform is International Relief, focusing on ending childhood hunger and poverty and assisting in child education initiatives.

World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title? Some of my favorites appearances have been speaking to the Lamar University TV News class, speaking to the United States Coast Guard for Hispanic Heritage Month, walking in the Best Buddies Fashion Show, speaking to Hoffman Middle School on Career Day, escorting my dear friend Joanne King Herring to receive the St. Jude Philanthropic Icon Award, and hosting my own Holiday fundraiser for Impact Africa, a charity organization very dear to my heart.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements? Becoming my high school class Valedictorian, going on a mission trip to South Africa, graduating from Texas State University with a degree in Communication Studies, being a professional in the TV and Radio industry, releasing a Christmas music single, having a lipstick named after me, and being the founder of Beauty with Blaine.

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls? I am someone who takes action. Someone who tries, and tries again. Someone who falls down and gets back up. I am not perfect and have learned that in my failure is where I learn and grow in wisdom. I am determined to continue to pursue my dreams and purpose, no matter the obstacles. I have learned to be resilient and courageous, and that all things are possible.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner. A dream come true! It was such a surreal moment! I think I went numb! It is such an incredible feeling to have a dream that you've worked hard for for years come true, and actually live in the moment of it. It's one of the most amazing feelings in the world. I'm so thankful.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen? Being a beauty queen means being a strong leader who uplifts and empowers others. A women with a beautiful heart and soul, a strong mind, and a voice that speaks words of life and truth.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life? Pageants have given me a greater self confidence, and have equipped me with resources and tools that I will use throughout my entire life. I have improved my communication skills, made personal and business connections, and have been given opportunities that have advanced my humanitarian, professional, and personal goals all through pageantry.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image? Pageants have challenged me to be the best I can be. On the inside and the outside. They have made me more aware of taking care of my body and also loving myself for who God made me to be. They have taught me to embrace my imperfections while striving to grow and become better.

World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel? It feels like a blessing and is very humbling. It also feels like I have a great responsibility to lead in the best way possible. To inspire, to uplift, and encourage others the best that I can. It is a great gift that I have been given to use.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over? Let your beauty shine from the inside out. Be genuine and walk with confidence and poise. Show the judges and audience why you should win from the way you present yourself.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition? A lot of preparation and training, physically and mentally. Having a strong mind is most important, knowing who you are and why you really want to compete and win the title. Physical training is also important. You want to make sure you are healthy and in the best shape possible for the swimsuit and evening gown competitions.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk? Practice! Hire a great coach who can train you to walk with elegance, confidence, and grace.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress? Choose the dress that makes you feel the most beautiful! It's wise to choose a dress that works best with your body shape, but overall I've learned that you'll feel the most confident in a dress that you absolutely love.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview? Be yourself and speak from your heart! Speak with confidence and compassion. Also, I suggest practicing your potential questions and answers as much as possible.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it? Doubting myself during my earlier pageant years.  I've since learned to fully believe in myself and that I am worthy and capable of achieving my dreams.

World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest? Not being genuine, and trying to be like someone else.  World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience? Yes, I've been modeling for about 6 years now and I am a professional actress signed with Page Parkes Texas located in Houston.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen? To finish my reign with power, beauty, and confidence knowing that I positively made a difference in the lives of others. I plan to fully pursue a career in the music industry as a singer/songwriter and release a single. I also plan to continue pursing my acting career, as well as expand Beauty with Blaine.

World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?

I want to be an inspiration to others and an example of courage, faith, and resilience. I want my life to be a testament for people to know that they are capable of achieving their dreams and destiny. All things are possible with God and never let fear have power over you. I want to share a few important statements that have made a lasting impact on my life: "Start where you are, there will never be a perfect time, and you may never have clarity, but you must always have faith, when pursuing your dreams and goals." "Your dreams will have a greater meaning when they are tied to the betterment of humanity." "Help people help themselves." "Success is never easy, it takes hard work and discipline, and working while others play."
