World Class Bikini Models Magazine would like to welcome amazing model April Dabney.

Name: April Dabney Height: 5'8" Eye Color: Blue Hair Color: Blonde Bust (in inches): 34 Waist: 29 Hips: 39 Shoe size: 7.5 Age: 31 Zodiac sign: Taurus Favorite Designer: Giorgio Armani Favorite Color: Purple Years modeling: 7 years Countries visited: Japan, Columbia, and the U.S. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Please tell us about yourself. I am from a small town in Southern Indiana, where the corn and soybean fields are plentiful, and tractor day at high school was a typical norm. I went on to study at Indiana University Southeast, where I received my Bachelor's in Humanities and a minor in Spanish. I am blessed to be the mother of four beautiful children. Most of my life, I have been fighting the stereotypes of being a teen mother. My goal has always been to show women that pregnancy and motherhood doesn't prevent achievement.

World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Please tell us about your modeling experience. Modeling has been a huge creative and professional passion. I have been featured in multiple magazines, including Dime, Boudoir Inspiration, Luxia, etc... And have been featured on a few covers. I have worked for Geico, Tough Mudder, and many other brand ambassadorships, along with modeling for Ferrari Ft. Lauderdale, Warner Models, Japan International Photography, and Freewave Modeling Agency in Tokyo. Currently I am Miss Indiana Fitness and competing for Miss Bikini Fitness United States, and happily walking in Miami Swim Week. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Bikini modeling is often done very early in the morning to catch that perfect lighting, are you a morning person and if not what is your strategy for 6am shoots where you have to already have your hair and makeup done? I have always been a morning person. I enjoy peace and quiet in the morning, for a few moments when I start my day. The best strategy for 6 a.m. photoshoots can be summed up in one word: coffee. Coffee and consistency can take you places you would never imagine at six in the morning. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Tell us about your first big break into modeling, what was the first modeling job you did and how were you discovered? I have my beautiful friend, Ashland, to thank for the start of my modeling career. At the time, she and I were both military wives who were stationed in Japan. Tokyo is one of the modeling capitals of the world. Ashland was on set at a shoot, where another model was needed. She told me that I should apply. I sent over some pictures and the rest is history. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: For the image to come out perfect you have to really connect with the photographer to get the pose captured just right with the lighting and angle and mood of the shoot. How do you typically connect with a photographer you just met on set? The best way to connect with a photographer is to go into a shoot, understanding concepts and creative ideas. As a model you have to understand your body and what your best angles are. I love to check images on the camera as I shoot. This helps me to understand what my lighting is showing up as and what angles the photographer loves to shoot from. Communication with your photographer is the best way to create the perfect image. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: There are so many iconic bikini poses that create this image captured in time that stand out and are widely known even by people not connected to the modeling world, what is your favorite iconic bikini pose and why? My favorite bikini pose would have to be a good hip pop, with body elongation in the arms. This allows for the model's body to have nice contoured hips, while showing off length, a pair of nice legs, and it thins out the torso. Being on the tall side, with wider hips from having children, this pose really flatters my body. I love showing off my long legs. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Do you have agency or do you freelance? Personally, I freelance model or I work with agencies that allow models to work with other agencies. Many agencies have guidelines that they like you to follow. I am opposed to this. I like to be creative and express myself through modeling. To me, it is an art. I do not like to be suppressed in my creations. Any brand or company that wants to work with me, has to respect my own wants from modeling. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Certain colors look good on certain people based on a variety of factors, what colors look best on you and which one is your favorite to model in? I can't lie. My favorite color to model in would be anything black. I love the different concepts and lighting that black can be used in. The color that I am told looks best on me is red. Red is vibrant, sexy, and bright. With my blonde hair and blue eyes, red really brings out my features and sassy personality. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: When you are considering taking a modeling job what factors come into play. Do you have a list of items that are deal breakers, or a list of items that seal the deal for you? Tell us about your ideal modeling job and what that looks like. The biggest factor to me will always be respect. Compensation is the runner up. If photographers or those representing companies are inappropriate, it is an instant deal breaker. I am also practical. My time, effort, and experience are valuable. Those factors should always be compensated appropriately. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: What would you consider your biggest achievement as a model so far? My biggest achievement as a model honestly has not been a specific company, job, or show. My biggest achievement is that I have been able to open up a path and inspire other women to love and accept their bodies and understand their self-worth. Women have enough pressure to look and be perfect from the outside world. The best we can do as women is support one another. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Do you have any bikini models that you look up to? Please tell us why you are inspired by that particular model. I love Gigi Hadid's work. She creates beautiful images and has made an empire for herself. My favorite bikini model would have to be Ashley Graham though. She has changed the modeling world and industry. Her advocacy towards body positivity and self-love have completely changed the standards of modeling. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Describe how you prepare for an upcoming shoot. Tell us about your routine, do you have any superstitious rituals, a certain number of hours of sleep, or specific music you hype yourself up to, or beauty routine you swear by? Being a Mom, I don't necessarily get to dictate my hours of sleep. I would like to be rested and refreshed, but in real life that doesn't always happen. When I am preparing for a show I really crack down on my eating habits. I make healthier food choices, but I don't completely deprive myself. It is all about balance. I also up my workouts to give my body that extra toned look. Every night, I make sure to wash my makeup off, and to give my body plenty of moisturizer. Self-affirmations really help me focus on myself and turn off the outside world. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: What is the best piece of modeling advice you have received in your career that you would like to share with aspiring models? The best advice that I have been given is to be picky. Do research on the company or person that wants to shoot with you. Do they have a good reputation? Does this brand represent who you are? At the end of the day, I always tell myself to have fun and enjoy the experience. Every photoshoot, I learn something new about myself and what I enjoy. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Every person can make an impact on the world, what is one thing you are doing to make the world a brighter place? My favorite thing that I am doing right now, is the creation and focus of empowering other women. I have created many social media groups, where women support one another. We leave inspiring comments on each other's photos, along with discussing life issues and hardships that we are all dealing with. I think it is really important that as women, we do not feel like we are walking this road alone. I always want others to know that my door is open, if they need anything. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: For every passion/need there is a nonprofit or charity that promotes or helps fill this need. What is your favorite nonprofit or charity and why is it your favorite? I am a hard advocate for charity. I love to give back to my local animal shelters. I would be completely lost without my cats. They are part of my family. Animals are really emotionally therapeutic. I am also big on giving back to those who are less fortunate and in need. As humans we are not made to be solo creatures. As a species we are a community and should act as such.

World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Who is your dream designer to model for or your dream modeling job? A dream designer that I would love to model for would be for Virgil Abloh. His innovative ideas and designs are revolutionary. The steps that I take to make my dream a reality is hard work and consistency. I am constantly working on my posing and body goals. Most importantly I am focused on networking. Your network is your net worth. World Class Bikini Models Magazine: Where can we learn more about your work? Tell us your websites and social media handles and where someone can go to hire you for modeling jobs? The best place to learn more about my work would be on instagram. The best handles to reach me at are @amd510 and @amd_annihilates. World Class Bikini Models Magazine would like to say thank you for this wonderful interview.
