World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.

Well, my name is Anindita Ghosh. I am a healthcare professional currently working as ultrasound specialist in National Health Service in UK. One of my biggest passions in life is to encourage both men and women alike to break through the illogical beauty standards and gender norms our society unfortunately encourages. I am also a spiritual woman who firmly believes that everyone is the master of their own destiny as a result I love practicing meditation and yoga as it helps me develop a positive attitude through inner peace.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?

Women empowerment to me is an important movement which helps educate men and women the power of femininity. It redefines the false stereotypes society has imprisoned women for decades and instead celebrates the existence of femininity instead of dismissing it.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.

So far I’ve been blessed to have been a part of two amazing pageants, Mrs India UK hosted by Brandwok and Miss/Mrs/Ms International hosted by AFT. They were both filled with incredible experiences and gorgeous women some of whom are still my very close friends, I hope to be a part of many more!

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?

Pageants have always been an interest to me, so when I came across the ad for my first pageant I was curious to find out what the life of a beauty pageant contestant entails.

World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?

I chose to compete for Ms international as I wanted to show that being divorced doesn’t define me nor hinder my abilities to be a role model to the rest of the world.

World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?

The Ms pageant system was developed to promote divorced, single mothers and widowed women to honor their struggles and accomplishments. This is a very important pageant system as many women who are divorced, single or widowed think they cannot participate in beauty pageants as they are not single and they do not get enough recognition for the struggles they go through every day by being a single mother or the sole family provider.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?

We were judged on 6 different categories: Talent round, Photoshoot, National costume round, question and answer round, traditional round and the gown round. We were also judged thoroughly based on how we interacted with the other participants, how well we presented ourselves in the morning etc.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.

It was truly a once in a lifetime experience where I got to meet other amazing women from all walks of life, some of whom are now my closest friends. I also got to do catwalk at the Atlantis Hotel which was incredible on its own, and winning the crown was definitely the cherry on the top! I was truly blessed and will forever be thankful to AFT for giving me the experience.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.

I volunteer for several causes such as domestic violence victims, homeless children, civil rights for women, education for poor children. All of these causes hit very close to home for me as I grew up seeing women abused and small homeless children, even as a child I was very passionate about wanting to do something to help and I am thankful that I now have the means and resources to make that wish a reality.

World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?

So far I’ve done a fashion show with the other queens who also became my close friends at a charity event in order to try and raise funds to feed children in India. That night was a lot of fun! It was an amazing cause and we raised a lot of money which was heartwarming as it meant a lot of children would not have to go hungry for the night.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?

Some of my achievements include becoming a qualified doctor in the NHS, becoming Ms International Dubai, becoming a philanthropist. In the past these were things I thought I could have never done so I am incredibly proud to have achieved all these goals.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?

On stage I tried to keep my smile as natural as possible and tried to keep my voice energetic and vibrant. This ultimately imprinted a positive image of me on the minds of the judges, I learnt this through Manushi Chillar the famous Miss India 2017 and my inspiration.

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?

I would say my aura made me stand out from all of the other gorgeous girls competing alongside me, due to my positive mindset and the confidence I presented I was able to attract more attention to me.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.

I couldn’t believe my ears! I had to ask my friend next to me if they had really called my name, it was incredibly rewarding to find out that out of all of the other gorgeous contestants they had deemed me as the most deserving.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?

For me the title comes with a great responsibility, you become a role model in the lives of young, impressionable girls so to be a Beauty Queen is a woman of substance who promotes positivity and encourages individuality.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?

Before competing, I wasn’t very extroverted and had several body image issues however after competing I realized that beauty isn’t just a physical aspect but also includes your personality. It also helped me become more confident and approachable and helped me overcome my fear of being in the public eye.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image?

Pageants helped me learn that I don’t need to be a certain way or look a certain way in order to be beautiful, it’s all about the way I feel at the end of the day and as a Beauty Queen life is so much more than just the external beauty.

World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?

Honestly, it feels both amazing and motivating at the same time! I love being a role model to women who are similar to me and it further motivates me to do

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?

I would recommend practicing your walk whilst wearing 6 inch heels in order to get more comfortable as you will be standing and walking in those heels for a very long time!

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?

I’d definitely say less is more, an ideal gown should enhance your features and help you project your personality.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?

My tips would be to be confident as the natural energy you have when you’re in the right state of mind is very attractive and to always have a smile as it’s the best kind of makeup a girl can wear!

World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?

I mostly recorded myself practicing my speeches and preparing for my dance which I planned to showcase for the talent round.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?

One mistake I done was that I didn’t rehearse my opening speech well enough so I forgot most of it during the finale, if I could go back I would have definitely tried to practice it better so that I could have had a better outcome.

World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?

Although all of them did amazing in the finale, I think a couple of them got very nervous and froze up this made them seem very awkward. However in general, I have to say everyone did a great job and the finale in Dubai was incredible!

World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?

Unfortunately not, I didn’t have any previous modeling or acting experience prior to the pageants.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2018 as a Queen?

Currently my plans are to attend a charity fashion to help raise money for the

World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?

I want to leave behind an inspirational legacy where I hope to inspire other single divorced mothers and girls to become a powerful figure. I hope to leave behind good values of honesty and integrity so that my daughter can someday use those morals which may allow her to become a strong, kind woman.
