World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?

Women Empowerment describes the strength and independence of women today. Many women today are becoming their own bosses and obtaining high-level leadership roles. Women are showing more confidence in themselves, their beliefs, and their values. The world is beginning to recognize that women bring strength and brilliance to the table.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.

I've always wanted to participate in pageants since I was a little girl. When I turned 19, I was living in Maryland and so I applied to be a contestant for the Miss Maryland pageant. Unfortunately, I didn't have the financial means to continue. It wasn't until I moved to Georgia that I was able to participate in pageant activities.

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?

After having my daughter, I was having difficulty with my self-esteem. I just didn't feel like my old self. I finally said let me try a pageant because it will challenge me to be committed to gaining my confidence again.

World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?

I was looking for local pageants in my area and US United seemed like it could give me the coaching and sisterhood I was looking for.

World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?

The US United is a pageant system that promotes health, wellness, fitness, inner/ outer beauty among women and children of all ages and ethnic groups while producing positive role models for the community. Our platform is Breast Cancer Awareness and Research is our national platform. Each year, we strive to bring awareness to our communities and make annual donations to breast cancer organizations.  Our system is open to young ladies and women 10 years and older.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?

We are being judged on interview skills, fashion selections, community service, talent and Interview skills, Outfit of Choice, and Evening Gown during competition.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.

The experience was both challenging and encouraging. I've learned so much about pageant competition but I have also met some amazing women! They are all talented, smart, and beautiful. Being pregnant while competing had its own set of challenges as well but I found it (competing) just as rewarding.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.

My platform is L.O.C (Love Our Children) which is an outreach program for children of abuse from all circumstances and situations. I think its incredibly important to uplift and encourage young people to keep striving toward their goals. Whenever I have time, I volunteer at the Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children's Shelter.

World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?

I haven't been able to get out into the community as much as I would like to due a few restrictions with my pregnancy, but I will be helping judge upcoming pageants and participate in as many appearances as I can.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?

I've started my own business and will be going back to school to obtain my bachelor's degree in Psychology.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?

My on stage strategy is to be personable and demonstrate confidence.

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?

I believe being a young mom, a military spouse, and my love for helping others is what makes me stand out.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.

I was in total shock. I had to make so many last-minute wardrobe changes that I wasn't sure how the judges saw me. But I did my best and I am so grateful to have been crowned Mrs. US United 2019.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?

Being a Beauty Queen is a tremendous honor for me! I get to interact to me means having a beautiful soul. Looks aren't everything. Your spirit and your genuine intentions are what people really focus on.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?

Competing in beauty pageants has helped me tremendously. The experience has helped build my confidence and has enabled me to network with other women who are doing amazing at work and their communities. I am able to reach different audiences through guest appearances and have been asked to assist more in the communities. Community leaders enlist my help by asking me to teach a class and even help run a pageant for young girls.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your self-esteem and body image?

Pageants have helped my self-esteem and body image tremendously. I feel much more confident in myself and I can't wait to show my daughter my pageant pictures, teaching her that anything you put your mind to is possible no matter your situation.

World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?

It feels really good. I'm flattered to know that I am an inspiration to others.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?

Practice, practice, practice. If you don't practice, it'll be very challenging. Find mentors to help you as well.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?

When choosing the right pageant dress, choose a color that will make you stand out. Something that will pop but also show off your figure. Work the dress, don't let it work you.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?

Be confident in yourself. Show and tell them all the amazing things about you and what you do for your community. Be personable.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?

I practiced and I studied. I asked for help when I needed and used the resources that were given to me such as my pageant liaison and wardrobe consultant.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?

One mistake I made was showing the judges that I was nervous during interview. It cost me a couple of points.

World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?

One of the biggest mistake’s ladies make is in fashion selection.

World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?

No, I don't have any modeling or acting experience

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2019 as a Queen?

My plans are to recruit more girls to my pageant system while also networking and helping others. I also plan to continue to promote Breast Cancer awareness, promote our pageant system and work in the community.

World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?

I want people to appreciate the pageant system and see what I see-- young women who feel empowered and who are excelling in business and their communities. I will continue to support Breast Cancer awareness and L.O.C. I want to continue my work with young people and encourage our communities to pour into each other. World Class Beauty Queens Magazine would like to say thank you for this amazing interview.
