World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.
(Personal, non pageant) I am married to an aircraft engineer and we have a son who is 19 years old. Being a former flight attendant in my early 20s, I have travelled to many main cities of the world. I have since worked in various industries, ranging from freight forwarding, airlines, food and beverage, insurance, aviation spare parts, boating, home renovation and now Superyachts. I work as a freelance in the Superyachts industry , where I provision for the Chefs and Stewardesses on board these privately owned vessels. I run an online frozen food business which sells mainly Authentic Malay dishes, and am the creator of Zarra Zeeya The Wedding Architect, a one stop place for that special moment in your life. I am also an advocate for a healthier lifestyle, and love going to the gym.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you? It means to be able to give women the power and control of their lives to become anything they want and to do what they want in situations where they were not allowed once upon a time.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history. My first pageant was in 2017, where I participated in the Singapore Malays International Pageant. I won the Title of Mrs Singapore Malays Asia 2017/18, at 45. This year, I participated in the Singapolitan Worldwide Pageant, in the Elite category (above 40).
World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant? I had lost a tremendous amount of weight, was in the best shape and state of health. And I wanted to share with many more other women my experience, so they can be inspired and be influence to make an impact in their lives.
World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title? I felt that I needed a bigger platform to challenge myself, hence I opted to compete in Singapolitan Worldwide. It is also the 1st Singapore based company to hold an International Pageant here, in Singapore, and the concept intrigued me. Before I competed only within my ethnic race, but this time I will be among women from other races/nationalities.
World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about? Most pageants are tied up to charity. However, in this pageant, our Mission is to create awareness. We aim to inspire, Influence and Impact other women through our initiative/movement.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition? In this competition, 40% is based on our initiatives, on how we can bring better awareness of an initiative given (in this case this year is the Breast Cancer/Pink Ribbon), whether it is through social media, workshops, talks, drive. The rest of the marks came from our talent, evening gown, national costume besides confidence and poise.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition. I loved the fact that even though we were all from different cultures, we bonded very well with one another. There wasn't any jealousy or animosity among one another but encouragement for each other's effort.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for. Our Initiative was to raise awareness for Breast Cancer, and I used Delishiok, my online frozen food business, and all other social media platforms to reach to a larger audience. I named it Delishiok Goes Pink, where I produced videos, educating women( and also men), on the importance of detecting the disease earlier, using the correct cooking oils for specific cooking methods, introduction of Malay Herbs and simple cooking using innovative products which are produced through sustainable farming.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements? 1. I am proud to have created Delishiok, an online frozen Malay dishes business. I created it with the busy moms in mind as the dishes I prepare tend to be very tedious. Through the years the number of orders for Delishiok gradually increased as customers recommend their friends and relatives. This year is my 6th year in the business and I am grateful for all the referrals. 2. I had slip disc since I gave birth at the age of 28, and have been suffering with severe backache since. As it was hard for me to be physically active, the lack of exercise and healthy lifestyle made me gain weight, and made the backache worse. The year 2015 was my turning point, as I hated visiting the hospital, and looked for a solution. I successfully lost more than 17kg, in less than 2 years, and that's when I joined my 1st pageant at the age of 45. I was transformed. I have never felt and looked better in ages. 3. Having lost significant weight and more fit, I started exercise more regularly and participated in 21km races and gradually succeeded in achieving my 1st Spartan Trifecta (8km, 12km and 21km -3 different level of Spartan races in one year). Before when I had severe backache, I had to crawl to the toilet bowl. These personal achievements has made me realised, I am well capable of achieving my goals when I understand what my WHY is.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over? To have a strong stage presence, a great smile, a witty introduction and an intelligent answer for the Q&A segment.
World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls? That I project myself to be very confident on stage.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner. I felt accomplished.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen? That I will have to continue to better myself each step of the way as I know the whole world will continue to watch me as I progress.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your self esteem and body image? I felt it brought me to new level of confidence I never had before, and maintain or getting better will be the way forward.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition? Exercise regularly, and more conscious of my food choices, and going for vocal training classes. Study the different styles of catwalk and practicing. Watching questions and answers segments from other pageants.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it? The Answer to my Q and A was not powerful enough to make an great impact. I should have thought of it more carefully before answering.
World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest? Costumes were too simple or not though of more carefully, did not practice for talent round.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2019 as a Queen? There is not time left for 2019, but I will continue with my initiative of spreading the breast cancer awareness through a talk in October to my Malay Community in Singapore. Also, in November if I hands are not full, I will want to empower women by teaching the cooking skills I have, for free (they only need to pay for ingredients) so that they too can start their own small business.
World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? A Queen who kind and gentle, yet firm in her beliefs, at the same time not stingy to share her knowledge and expertise with others.
