World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.

I was born in a small rural town of India. My Father was university professor and mother was a homemaker. However, I always wanted to do something good for the world. I am here just because of my sheer determination and hard work.

I live in Rose city Portland Oregon with my Husband of 15 years and 2 school going kids. By profession I am a research analyst in a bank. I don’t believe in stereotype, I believe in creating my own path. I don’t believe in sadness instead I laugh a lot. I don’t trust my weakness because I turned them into my biggest strength as I say my crown may be heavy but still, I accept the responsibilities, Because I see possibilities everywhere every day.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?

Chase your dream-never give up, be there for each other and motivate each other by your action. Just be you and just be confident because on you trust yourself because beauty starts when you are you.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.

It was my childhood dream to be in pageant world and it took my long time to build confident and courage to be finally on stage. I started in 2017 but in my first pageant competition, I did not win. However, it was a very valuable competition and I learn a lot. I never gave up and I kept participating and finally in 2019 I was crowned as Ms. Elite Asia -Oregon. I also won Ms. Oregon world in 2019 and then I was invited to participate in Ms. US world competition in Bahamas. There I competed with representative of each state of USA along with Bahamas and I was crowned as Ms. US World International 2019. I was also awarded the “World Peace Messenger” by World peace & diplomacy organization in a event held in Los Angeles Dec-2019.

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?

I participated in my first pageant so that I can use this platform to fight for hunger. I have been working with a non profit organization who fights hunger and seen it first hand how difficult this problem is. I will utilize this platform to create awareness and fight for solution to eliminate this cancer from our society.

World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?

I was invited to participate in Ms. US world pageant, and I decided to go for it because I honestly loved the vision and value of the organization. The Mission of the Ms. US World organization is to encourage and empower the women of today.

This organization believes that a woman's value and beauty should not be defined by her relationship status, ethnic background, dress size, height, orientation or age.

At Ms. US World we celebrate the inner and outer beauty of all women! I also like to meet women from different part of country and learn and grow with them.

Final Q&A on the stage determined the winner of the competition.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.

It was an amazing experience that hard to describe in words. I met with incredible talented women, all of the women were accomplished in their own platform. I hope in future I can meet each of them and start a charitable organization together. The sisterhood was amazing and everyone was so helpful and keep motivating each other. It was just a big happy family. The pageant competition was very transparent and exciting at every step.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.

My platform is feed the hunger. I volunteer with Food bank of Oregon, Chetna foundation, and with my employer. There is so many issues to tackle in the world but I chose to work in Hunger issue as I believe no one should go hungry. Its very awful fact that while we keeping up with the technology, there are thousands of people still looking for food.

World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?

I have volunteered several events at Food bank, women’s network, children network and local police department. I was also invited for a Ravishing women’s festival in state of Washington. I was the invited guest for a local 5K event where we motivated kids and youths to remain in healthy lifestyle.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?

I am really lucky and blessed to have 2 beautiful healthy kids and my family who always motivate and support me no matter what. Participating in these events help me to discover myself and nothing is better than that feeling. I was crowned Ms. Us world international in 2019 which was a dream come true.

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?

I was born and raised in a rural part of India but with my will and determination I overcame all the challenges and I am here. I believe everyone is beautiful however my self belief and inner strength to chase my dreams and ability to work for it makes me a stand out beauty queen.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.

The moment I heard my name, I was shocked, excited and nervous. It was a very exciting moment and one of the best moments of my life.  It was a dream come true.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?

For me beauty queen provides a huge platform to motivate and inspire other women out there. We can use this platform to fight and eradicate many social challenges in our community by helping and understanding each other. As a beauty queen I want to tell my community that I am always there for help and support.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?

It has given me confidence and actually helped me to discover who I am and what I enjoy the most. I am more open to attend public events and participate in charitable causes. Through this platform I also understand that every day is not a golden day and its OK to not win however never lose hope.  World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image?

It give me a courage to come in front of public without even thinking about my body image. Through this process I learned that every one is beautiful and all we need to trust ourselves and move forward. Beauty is not how we look but how our action motivates and help others.

World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?

It feels great but it gives me a sense of huge responsibility on my shoulder. I can use this platform to motivate and encourage people to try your best and don’t worry about failure. If you fail, learn from the mistakes and try again. Failure is not fatal, quitting is forever. I did not win in my first pageant but I kept my spirit high, I corrected my mistake and today I am here.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?

Smile and be yourself.  Be true to yourself, portray a confident image and make eye contacts and don’t be afraid to accept if you don’t know something. World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?

I watched youtube videos of previous events, I prepared for panel interview by reading and practicing my speech in front of mirror.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?

Practice, Practice and Practice. Walk in front of your friends and family, make your recordings and watch them and then correct your steps.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?

The dress should be comfortable, listen to your body, make sure what looks good on you. These are the key to select a good dress.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?

Smile, be confident, have eye contact with judges and be yourself. Listen the question carefully and don’t be afraid to ask clarification if you don’t get it.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?

In My first pageant I was focused more on my dress rather than focusing on overall event. I could have practiced my walk, my speech and prepared my interview. World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?

Being over confident, and not focusing on entire body of competition rather than focusing on swimsuit or evening gown. The more focus should be given to speech, panel interview and fitness rounds.

Yes, I have done several shows for fashion designers such as Africa Fashion week, North west fashion week, Kahinifashions and chance for fashion etc.
