World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.

Being an orphan at the age of 2 yrs when my father passed on isn't exactly a fairy tale that everyone wants. These life experiences have taught me many lessons that I think made me what I am today. Being brought up in a family of 9 siblings is truly a world spinning experience, I have learned many values such as sharing, caring, tolerance of all other 8 characters and of course perseverance. The main model for life as a coach is of course my mother when she shows determination, courage and resilience in bringing us up solely after my father passed on. With her in my mind now as I moved on with the chapters without her I will never forget all the life lessons by her and braze on to what life brings to me.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?

Empowerment is S.E.A.S, Believing in Sharing Experiences And Support towards the betterment of others.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.

Well it's a rather short one as this is my first adventure into pageantry. But through this pageant it has opened my mind and eyes into a different level of social responsibility and commitment towards society.

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?

It's actually when my mom has passed on which makes me feel that life is too short. So I have decided to do something different every year ever since and year 2019 is pageantry. Aside from this, I have discovered that my cousin has a child with special needs and seeing her going through her life drove me further into pageantry with the hopes of touching the life of special needs.

World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?

Well for me it's not the title that matters . It's how title holders hold their titles that matters. At TKS we believe in "Crown for Compassion" showing it everywhere we go. Believing in the organization's motto for the pageant is more important than having the tile itself.

World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?

It's about celebrating Women! Married women's accomplishments, empowerment and of course our " Crown for Compassion".

World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?

Wow, that's a tough one! (LOL). I believe every pageant will be judged on poise, grace and elegance. At TKS I believe we are judged more than just that, it may include our accomplishments and points given to how we contribute by giving back to society.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.

It's a very fruitful experience. I have learnt a lot in areas that I don't usually venture in such as catwalks, how to promote oneself in areas like social media. Besides all the work we do, we play too! We had fun during rehearsal and getting to know other contestants and growing like a part of the family through our year.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.

I am the founder of SNAP Special needs awareness page. This is a page where the contents are mainly to give more knowledge and awareness to the public and hopes to lessen the stigma surrounding them. In the future I hope that this page I created would help in areas more than just awareness maybe helps them in areas such as inclusivity and job placement too. I am also a part of a non profit organization that is called Smile salam SG . It's an organization that helps generally in areas of fund raising for the needy, building water supply in third world countries such as Cambodia. Our latest initiative currently is called "Pop up Groceries' ' it's an initiative that helps anyone facing difficulties during this Covid Season by gathering and distributing essential groceries underneath the void deck areas for residents living in those areas.

World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?

Unfortunately after being crowned its Covid 19! (LOL). However before this pandemic hit, I had appeared once at a Spa Party to promote ageless beauty.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?

Being a minority in a well diversified country is a challenge wherever we go. With hard work and determination i had climbed from being a Beauty therapist / hairstylist to Current Brand Manager in just 10 years . During these years I have also developed myself in terms of adopting a " Learn as you Grow " attitude and finally earned my diploma in F&B Management in 2016 aside from my other certifications along the years . And of course the Title of Mrs Singapore Tourism International ! (LOL). It's all the little things in life that is most pleasurable!

World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?

Well as I said earlier it's my first! I did not think much at the moment but just being myself and enjoying every moment as if it is my last.

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?

I think in this instance everyone is bringing their A game! I personally think that's my personality and having a witty brain solves it all ! (LOL)

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.

I was in shock as the competition was stiff as there were so many women who had millions of accomplishments, exceptional beauty. I was standing still for at least a good 10 seconds and my fellow finalist gave me a shake on my shoulders before I moved forward. It was one of the happiest moments in my life and the surreal surrounded me.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?

To be a Beauty Queen is both a responsibility and an honour. It's not an easy job to do but the emotional rewards that comes with it "Exceptional "! The Idea of beauty that comes with compassion gives you more emotional fulfillment for the soul !.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?

It has taught me not all competition has to be ruthless and scratchy. It helps me to further develop my skills in human relations and the art of listening to better understand all individuals through encouraging one another and providing a sister like support system as we go.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image?

At TKS they believed in beauty coming from within. As the finalist comes from a well diversified group of women till the age above 60! Through this pageants identification of beauty it helps me to feel a part of a bigger community not just in body beauty but believing in ageless beauty. Feeling beautifully confident inside out!

World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?

It has never crossed my mind at all ! ( blush) It's again an honoured feeling and out of this world. Like I said before, it's a responsibility more than just glamour that comes with it. Having said this I really have to write to Oprah Winfrey for advice as she had been the one I took inspiration from.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?

Well, it's Look, Listen, Feel. Look is paying attention to the coach whilst training is in session, Listen to all advice given and Feel like a million dollars!

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?

Everyone has a different body shape. So focus on it to choose the right cut and fit, not forgetting to match your skin tone! ( Just Kidding )

Pick a dress u love and work It.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?

Always smile and be honest. Let the beauty shine through from within.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?

It's a challenging process but it feels better with the support system that comes with it. My biggest challenge has always been control in terms of speech as I am a very candid person. So it took some uphill effort to learn from ex beauty queens to speak eloquently and precisely throughout the competition. Of course better eating choices and lots of water!

World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've made during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?

Being better at diplomatic speeches or conversations with other finalists. As I am known to be direct and honest in my opinions and comments that may hurt from time to time but again everyone has a weak spot and we need to be more sympathetic towards the needs of others.

World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?

Well we were having so much fun ! I didn't even realise mistakes ! as all of us have different strengths. World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?

The only modelling experiences I have is in front of my own phone ! (LOL). I am not saying no to acting as life is a drama itself ! (LOL). But if real opportunity arises it will definitely take on the experience.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen?

To Educate more people to come into the world of pageantry as to stop the stigma surrounding pageants and of course on my charity platforms too.

World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?

It being true to oneself and helping others along the way and believing that the future generations have a never give up attitude towards life.

World Class Beauty Queens Magazine would like to say thank you for this wonderful interview.
