World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.

I am a mother of three beautiful girls. I am a registered nurse and I am currently working on advancing my career as a family nurse practitioner. I enjoy spending time with my family and I love my career. I love volunteering for charity events for people in need.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?

Women empowerment to me means that women should not stereotype their position in this life. Women are capable to accomplish whatever goal that they set their mind and soul to achieve. The world has come a long way in enabling women these past several decades and I hope to see continued progress as women achieve and lead in the next generations to come.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.

I attended a women’s fair that was hosted by the city of Greeley. Colorado Productions was participating during the fair. I was approached by the director and was asked to participate in their beauty contest. I laughed because I wasn’t aware that beauty contests for ladies my age existed. I thanked her for her invitation and continued walking around the fair. Weeks later she was contacted me again and encouraged me to participate in “Sra. Colorado” for my age group. I was selected as one of the top five candidates for my city. After participating in my first state competition, I was awarded Mrs. Photogenic and ultimately won the crown of Mrs.

Senora Colorado!

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?

I decided to participate to be a role model for my daughters, young girls, and for all the women my age that think that competing in a beauty contest is only for miss or young girls. I want to be seen by other women as an example of no matter how old you are, opportunities can be presented in life at any time. I want to encourage my daughters and women to never stop dreaming and work hard to make their goals and wishes come true. I want to inspire others to believe in themselves with confidence and determination to be successful.

World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?

When I was young my dream was to be in a beauty pageant, but for many reasons I didn’t do it. I chose to participate to gain a new experience, to explore new opportunities in a field that I was never exposed, and to met a goal that I wasn’t able do when I was young.

World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?

Colorado Productions nominates a city queen, then they compete to choose Senora Colorado. The contestants are divided into age categories. Each category then feels comfortable competing and participating with their own aged peers.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?

Beauty is only one of the judging points of the contest. Poise, stage presence, intelligence, physical appearance, personality traits, ability to answer judges’ questions on various subjects, personal interview, and how I handled stress are all considered as part of the judging criteria. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.

My experience was positive. I gained confidence, personal growth, new friendships, and doors were opened for opportunities to help my community.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.

So far during my journey, I volunteered to help families in need, delivering thanksgiving baskets with turkey dinners to six families in need. I Visited a nursing home/assisted living home. I took Christmas presents to an immigrant shelter. I also enjoyed participating in a community fund raising event for a patient in need of a kidney transplant.

World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?

I appeared in a fashion show fundraiser for victims of domestic violence. I have also done some Radio interviews, future appearances: American heart association, fundraise for a person needing a kidney transplant and a Children’s hospital visit.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?

I graduated the first time with a nursing bachelor’s degree in Mexico. I then graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing in the United States of America. I am currently working on advancing my education and career with a master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner. Of course, winning “Senora. Colorado 2019-2020” was a bonus achievement!

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?

I am persistent, goal oriented, and my personal values and motivation is directed to help others.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.

In a few seconds, I went through a roll coaster of emotions. I was happy and scared about what was coming. I was in surprise and shock!

World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?

Being a beauty queen allows me to be a role model that represents not just the women’s physical beauty, but also intelligence, compassion to others, and an advocate for my community.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?

Competing in pageants has encouraged me to achieve a healthier lifestyle, gain more self-confidence and become a role model for my fellow women. It has also allowed me to grow professionally and to incorporate me in community activities.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your self-esteem and body image?

The pageants have helped me to become more confident within my own self and believe in the power of my physical and inner beauty.

World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?

It feels awesome to be able to inspire and encourage the younger generation of girls to become beautiful, confident women ready to lead in the future. World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?

My strategy included being myself and allowing my inner beauty and confidence to shine. I also was determined to keep a clear mind and allow my intelligence to manifest.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?

I took classes on runway walking and posture, dancing, and watched several other pageant competitions to learn from those as much as possible.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?

It is important to find a trainer who has been successful in training past queen winners. Graceful stage presence, your walk and confidence are critical for the pageant.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?

The dress needs to reflect who you are. It also needs to be something that makes you feel comfortable to wear. If you don’t feel comfortable, your confidence will not show through.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?

Interviewing is an art and improves with practice. Answer what is asked with confidence without rambling on. Listen carefully, and think before speaking, then make your point with concise and clear words.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing

you wish you could redo and fix it?

One mistake I made was feeling intimidated by other participants. I also could have prepared more with practicing answering unexpected questions.

World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?

Other mistakes that I noticed from other women during the contest was anxiety and fear of speaking in public, not enough practice walking in their high heels, unable to enjoy the process of the pageant.

World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?

I have not had previous modeling or acting experience. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen?

My plans for 2020 as Senora Colorado are to prepare for the National competition, continue participating in my community as much as possible and encouraging young girls and women to pursue their dreams.

World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?

I want to be remembered as a queen that advocated for my community and encouraged young women to grow and succeed in life by pursuing their education, goals and dreams.
