World Class Princess Magazine would like to welcome amazing Princess Elyse Hofer 2019-2020 Pure International Little Miss America.

Full Name: Elyse Hofer Title/Year: 2019-2020 Pure International Little Miss America Pageant System: Pure International Pageants Age: 9 Zodiac Sign: Libra Hobbies:  Playing Soccer, Pageants, Swimming, and Exploring Nature Platform: My goal is to help anyone in need.  I believe no act of kindness is too small. Years Competed: 3 Countries Visited: Canada, Turks & Caicos, Dominican Republic, and Bahamas Likes: I like soccer, basketball, fashion, Barbies, and making s'mores. Dislikes: I don't like Brussels sprouts, rainy days, or bullies. World Class Princess Magazine: Please tell us about yourself. I just finished Third Grade and am looking forward to getting back to school (hopefully) in the Fourth Grade.  I live in a small town in Southeast Indiana.  I have a pretty big family with two brothers and one sister.  I play soccer and basketball.  I love swimming in the pool in my backyard and on rainy days I like to play with my Barbies.  My favorite color is blue and I love eating strawberry ice cream (even though I know that is bad for you).  I enjoy going on cruises with my family.  I love going to New York City and hope to visit Chicago and Los Angeles soon.  My dream is to live in a big city. World Class Princess Magazine: What does women empowerment mean to you? To me, it means that women can do everything that men can do and can do it just as well.  It also means that women of any size or shape should feel good about themselves.  Women should help other women feel good about themselves. World Class Princess Magazine: Tell us about your pageant history. I tried my first pageant when I was 6 years old.  I won the title of Little Miss Indiana and competed in the Pure International Pageant in 2017.  I didn't place that year, but was able to return the following year as Little Miss Hoosier State.  This time (2018) I was first runner up in the Little Miss Division.  I tried one more time as Little Miss Midwest and won!  I became the Pure International Little Miss America in July of 2019.  I will representing the United States in the Pure International Pageant in September of 2020. World Class Princess Magazine: What inspired you to do your first pageant? I learned about pageants by watching Toddlers and Tiaras on television.  I became very interested in them and asked my mom if I could give it a try.  At first, my mom was hesitant.  Then, she found a natural, faith-inspired system, Pure International Pageants.  I have been competing with them ever since. World Class Princess Magazine: Why did you choose to compete for your current title? After being introduced to Pure International Pageants, I fell in love with the system and its director, Pat Miller.  I loved the opportunity to represent their system.  Pure International Pageants has a great prize package which included a trip to Gatlinburg, TN, and the opportunity to model in New York Fashion Week.  I also like that Pure encourages their queens to help others with their motto #betheimpact.   World Class Princess Magazine: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about? Pure International Pageants is faith inspired, community service driven, and family focused.  Their mottos include "Purpose-Driven Pageantry" and "#betheimpact".  Pure supports the idea that anyone can make an impact in another's life.  It doesn't matter how old or young you are or how much money you have.  Even small acts of kindness can make a huge, lasting impact.  Pure creates a fun, uplifting environment for everyone.  They emphasize having great interview skills and public speaking abilities.   World Class Princess Magazine: What are you being judged on during the competition? When I competed, there were four areas of competition.  These included on-stage introduction, modeling, formal wear, and interview.  In each area of competition, you are being judged on your poise and confidence, wardrobe, modeling abilities, and the judge's overall impression.   World Class Princess Magazine: Tell us about your experience during the competition. I love competing with Pure International Pageants.  On top of the required competitions, I was able to compete in several optionals.  I love modeling, so I competed in the Supermodel Competition and won!  I also competed in the Print Model Competition where I was able to pose for the amazing photographer John Flynn.  Finally, I entered and won the Portfolio Competition.  On top of the competitions, Pure has several meals and parties for the contestants.  My favorite was the Wacky Tacky Show.  You get to dress as crazy as possible and walk the runway.  My sister loves designing my Wacky Tacky outfits. World Class Princess Magazine: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for. I am always looking for ways to help my community.  One thing I have done is build a Free Little Library to be placed at my elementary school.  I enjoy going around my community and doing random acts of kindness such as leaving quarters in the candy machines for children, buying a coffee for someone, delivering flowers to neighbors, and picking up trash.  My family delivers food to an elderly, disabled woman every Friday.  In December, I raised more than $300 and gathered 40 friends and family members to make blankets for local foster children.  We made 45 blankets and was able to donate them to the So Loved Closet who distributed them to the community. World Class Princess Magazine: What appearances have you done with your title? With my current title, I have been able to model in New York Fashion Week twice.  I have been able to help out at several pageants and crown their queens.  I was in our community parade and was able to ride in the fire truck.  I have also made appearances at several county fairs and have been published in two different magazines. World Class Princess Magazine: What are some of your achievements? My biggest achievement is winning the title of Pure International Little Miss America.  It is something that I have worked very hard for.  I am also proud of my grades in school.  I work very hard to maintain straight As.  One of my goals was to go to New York City and model in a fashion show and I was able to do that twice. World Class Princess Magazine: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls? One way that I stand out is that I am very tall.  I literally stand out in a crowd.  Another thing that is unique about me is my dimples.   World Class Princess Magazine: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner. The moment my name was called out as the winner, I fell to the ground.  I was so happy!  I had tried for three years and all of my hard work had finally paid off.  I was so proud of myself.   World Class Princess Magazine: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen? To me, being a beauty queen means that I have an important role.  It is important to be a role model to others.  As Pure International Pageants believes, it is my job to inspire others, lead them to greatness, and achieve.  To me, it is more than just wearing a pretty crown.  I need to find ways to use the crown to do great things. World Class Princess Magazine: How did competing in pageants help your life? Competing in pageants has boosted my confidence.  I now believe that I can do anything I set my mind to.  I have learned that hard work and perseverance really do pay off.   World Class Princess Magazine: How did pageants help your self-esteem and body image? When I first started competing in pageants, I was pretty shy and reserved.  Every time I got on stage, I became a little more confident and my self-esteem improved.  I have also learned that confidence and a bright smile go a long way. World Class Princess Magazine: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel? It feels great that I can inspire others to do the things that they have been dreaming about.  I love that I am living proof that dreams really do come true! World Class Princess Magazine: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over? My only strategy is to be my true self.  I really believe that the judges want to see the real me, quirks and all.   World Class Princess Magazine: How did you prepare for your competition? Practice makes perfect.  I practice a few times with my amazing pageant coach and then continue practicing at home with my parents and siblings as the judges.  When I think I have practiced enough, I practice some more.  I also enjoy designing the perfect wardrobe with my pageant mom.  I like to design things that are unique. World Class Princess Magazine: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk? To do the best pageant walk, you need to be confident.  You also need to have an idea of what you are going to do, but don't look rehearsed.  Remember to practice in the shoes you will be wearing and practice in your dresses. World Class Princess Magazine: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress? Find a dress that makes you feel beautiful.  My mom has learned that if I don't like it, my confidence and face will show it on stage.  It is also important to find a color and style that makes you look good.   World Class Princess Magazine: What are your tips for winning interview? To win the interview portion, it is important to be yourself.  You want the judges to get a glimpse of you, your personality, and your life.  I always like to tell the judges a little story.  It is also important to listen to the entire question and to think before you speak.  World Class Princess Magazine: What is one mistake that you've done during competing that you wish you could redo and fix it? One mistake I remember making on stage was tripping on my gown.  I don't think the judges would have noticed if I could have kept a straight face.  I was so embarrassed.   World Class Princess Magazine: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest? One mistake I think other girls make is worrying too much about their competitors.  You need to focus on being the best version of yourself and not compare yourself others.   World Class Princess Magazine: Any modeling or acting experience? I am signed with Wings Model Management in Cincinnati, OH.  I take acting classes there.  I have also been published in two magazines - Child & Family Magazine and Child, Tween, and Teen Magazine. World Class Princess Magazine: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen? I hope to continue helping my community as much as I can.  One thing I would like to do is donate food to the local food pantry and homeless shelter.  I also hope to encourage others to participate in pageants so they can join the sisterhood.   World Class Princess Magazine: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? I hope people see me as having a heart of gold, that I was always willing to help others, and that I always brought a smile to their faces.
