World Class Beauty Queens Magazine would like to welcome amazing Queen Tamila Khodjaeva Miss Global 2018 2nd runner-up.

Full name: Tamila Khodjaeva Title/Year: Miss Global 2018 2nd Runner-Up Pageant System: Miss Global Age: 27 Zodiac sign: Sagittarius Hobbies: performing arts: singing, acting, hosting events, dancing - belly dance and Latin, keyboard playing Platform: Women's oncology Years competed: 2019 Countries visited: Philippines Likes: Singing, walking. Sometimes simultaneously

Dislikes: people's irresponsibility and cockroaches

Status: single World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself. I was born in Uzbekistan – a country in Central Asia. Then, in September 2013 I moved to Czech republic as I dreamt, by enrolling to University of Finance and Administration and graduated with a title of Master in Marketing communications. Though, being a creative person I always loved different performing arts, so nowadays I work as an event host (master of ceremonies) and a model mainly. Besides I also act in amateur theatre in Prague.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?

For me empowerment is mainly inspiration. Inspiration is a number one force which leads people to their goals, makes them move, take actions and change the world. We all need more motivation time to time. What women want, what they dream of - sometimes the answer is already inside of them, they just need to hear someone’s voice to raise their inner strength and self-esteem. I believe in energy of femininity I consider these factors to be highly important to develop and women empowerment is definitely focused on these features. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.

Being a feminine woman, I  always wanted to join something like this - an international beauty pageant, but didn’t have enough information and possibilities, since there’s no national selection for the world contests in my motherland, nor a chance to compete in Czech national contests because in most of the cases you must have citizenship or be younger certain age . Then once I saw Miss Global call, I said to myself – why not to try? I think it’s needless to describe how shocked I was, when I was finally selected among other contestants and became a representative of Uzbekistan. That’s how my journey started.

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?

To take a chance. That’s what I say to myself every single time when something huge is about to happen in my life and it’s time either to admit it or to decline it. I was scared, I was confused, but the belief that nothing is given by the Universe for no reason inspired me to give it a try. And it worked out, because help and support were incoming randomly and in kind of easy way somehow.

World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?

You may not believe, but my first pageant and my current title are the sides of one thing. Yes, competing in Miss Global 2018 was my first adventure in pageantry, and nobody can say it was unsuccessful, can’t they? To see the world, to gain recognition, to shine on the stage - yes these visible things are also valuable, but one day they will be forgotten. The idea of new height drove me to compete, even a small chance to prove myself I’m bigger than I think I am, to coordinate all the force I had and send it to my goal. But why? Because this would be a key to be heard, and I have a lot of experience to tell and moreover it’s a chance to hear and listen others around the world. Anyway I used to be an ordinary girl from a quite protected country years ago, so nothing is impossible.

World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?

Besides the reasons which have been mentioned before Miss Global seemed to be something more than just a pageant, it valued every woman, beyond culture and age, it was build to create a multicultural sisterhood and actually its moto ““Empowering Women, Embracing Cultures, and Embodying the Beauty Within” says everything itself.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?

The first thing we were told was “your biggest competitor - is you”. Every particular cell of me  agreed with that statement. So each moment of our lives even behind the cameras we were under invisible judgement, our overall score depended on week performance and preliminary interview with judges for 65%. It’s not hard to smile and stay nice while you are being in a camera spot. But to stay reliable, follow time schedule, perform well when you’re supposed to, find a solution for ambiguous situations, communicate politely not only with TV, but with staff, colleagues, other contestants. Yes you can pretend, but for how long? The rest 35% were something what audience normally see - gown and swimsuit competition and final on-stage interview.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.

I think I’m ready to write a book about my life during Miss Global. My experience can be divided into two sections - travelling and competing. For me it was very first time somewhere so far away, almost in another world.  Due to tight schedule we didn’t have much time to see much of the country. Philippines - is amazing country with strong society diversification. You can see tallest skyscrapers, luxury buildings and some meters further and your eye is caught by tiny old houses which remind you layered cake, but poorly constructed one. When we visited on of such districts for charity action I was about to cry, because even living in such terrible conditions these people were smiling and as a bonus were so exciting to see the contestants. Personally I participated twice in such event, and still it’s one of the most memorable parts. As regards competing part - we were given a chance to live this one of the most memorable events, yes we had our duty part, but at the same time, these weeks were not stressful to me.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.

To be honest, I never had thought about platform before I started to prepare my paperwork. Then I asked myself what would I do, which cause I would focus on. Then I decided to make some effort to woman’s oncology - breast cancer as an example, because I was a witness of some light cases. So why not to take care about our health in this direction? Women are beautiful inside out also because they give birth to a new generation, it’s essential subject.

World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?

I visited couple of networking events in Prague, where I also had brief speaking slot, gave several interviews, also participated as a lead model in fashion show of Czech designer, afterwards I was invited to one business project in Dubai as a titleholder where I recently returned from. It included designers and some tourist local businesses. World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?

I think my life is a consequence of challenges, I started new life in Czech Republic, obtained my Master’s Degree in Marketing Communication, learnt how to play piano, started my modelling career, started to work as an event host, participated in some local contests and finally reached international pageant. World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?

You have to fall in love with the stage first. Before you start to answer, you have to walk like you own this stage. Take it as a dialogue. Imagine it’s your own short press-conference. Before the final TOP 5 questions you have to talk to yourself. Yes. Many times, to understand who you are, what are you doing here and what are your values. If you are aware with these points, you won’t need to memorize your questions, because you already organised your personal views in some certain way. And of course smile. But don't just continuously smile, play with your expression, you can be a good smiling girl and then proceed with a flirt!

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?

I would like to express myself as a spicy combination of entertainer, slightly risky and at the same time soft and gentle lady. Risky, because many times I started something new just having a dream and then transformed it into growing reality, like my dream to work on the stage or to live abroad independently. I can stand for what I believe, I can make people smile and happy, I love to shine on the stage and on other other hand see people shining too. In addition, I donated my blood plasma more than 50 times World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.

After Miss Canada was announced as the 2nd runner-up I was standing with Miss Hong-Kong, traditionally holding each other hands. I was more or less calm during the whole final, but that moment I was really stressed out. I had been standing there for years before the host brought his apologies for desinformation and explained that Miss Uzbekistan (me) became the 2nd runner-up. To say this moment was awkward means to say nothing. I froze on the piece of stage where I stood, gazing around for support and collateral hope it was a mistake. However, disappointed look of Miss Global 2016  approaching to me, explained everything. A second she crowned me and hanged my sash was the last full stop in this desperate sentence. You may think I was unhappy or upset about it. I won’t lie, emotionally, even miracle opportunity to become the main winner was like a flight over the sea and then I was dropped into its deepest depth. Nevertheless, even being self-confident I had my fears and doubts, 3rd place is not bad in the end of the day, I was already over the moon when I made it to TOP 5. World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?

Years ago I wouldn’t even dream of such a big opportunity. Even a year ago. I see the progress, I see my potential increasing. For many people “beauty queen” means primarily physical attractiveness. It’s true, but only for some point, it must be and it is supported by inner world of titleholder. And the judges who chose me among other almost 50 contestants probably saw it. It makes me think of some sort of responsibility I carry now - sometimes people still watch your progress and subconsciously expect you to take some further serious steps. You expect it from yourself too, because you cannot simply forget about everyone’s effort to your small or large win, you have to fulfil it. World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?

Since my pageant history has just recently started I cannot say I already have tons of changes in my life, although it did help me in my modelling career, I have more invitations for interesting projects and what is more important my voice is more valuable, I share my views and values with people even in limited form, but I’m working on some new projects to inspire people even more.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image?

When you’re seen by the whole world and it sees your success it boosts your self-esteem to the space in a good way. You see your potential, results of your job. Of course an upcoming pageant motivates you to look after your physical form twice more than usual. World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?

Like a huge rock of responsibility and pride at the same time. I am happy to be useful, in spite of a scale, it helps to emphasize your skills, your strength and it actually empowers you.  A girl from a country, a lot of people don’t know about, a girl, whom many people didn’t believe in and bullied could reach this point, why cannot you?

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?

I still learn a lot about pageant walk, it was hard sometimes to switch from standard runway walk to pageant one. Tip 1. Sometimes you learn it like a math rule, but cannot understand a thing. So when you feel you mentally struggle, forget about it, go sleep and return to your training next day or two, you will be surprised but some techniques will be stored in your brain. Tip 2. Avoid copying someone’s walk. Of course you can learn something online, but still better keep on your own style. Tip 3. Imagine you are the owner of this stage, it’s your moment, they came to watch YOU, you are their star, so shine bright like a diamond. Tip 4. Even if you fall down, pretend it was a plan. Only the God knows whichever plan you had. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?

You MUST feel comfortable and confident in this dress. Don’t agree to wear even a gorgeously beaded dress with Swarovski crystals if it’s too tight or too loose, makes you bigger or whatever else. In a wide range of choices, start with your favorite color. Don’t think about stage lights, you will never guess. Which color suits you the best. What you imagine you wear when you enter red carpet? Whatever you choose, it’s better to highlight the waist, and body curves, believe me, you have them!

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?

Depends on type of interview. Techniques are different for one-on-one, panel or on-stage interviews. But all of them have something in common. You have to really know yourself and be able to summarize this information in the given time. In each pageant, questions touch on similar topics - a) about yourself, what makes you different, b) reasons why you joined this pageant and what will you do if you win, c) your views on some social situation. In every occasion, know what and how to put on the table. Some outstanding facts, your charisma and your belief are perfect mixture for winning an interview.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?

I guess my preparation started even before I found out I would ever participate in any pageant ever. I started to dig dip inside in my personality, grabbed some bad scenarios, some bad statements and belief, worked with my self-esteem. Fell down, then got up, made baby steps, learnt new things, took a risk for new height. So I can  state all of my life I unconsciously has been preparing for this experience. And finally the Universe sent me this opportunity which I was afraid to accept at first. But then when everything was confirmed I launched sponsorship campaign in the end I had covered participation fee, airfare and all the necessary outfits by designers. So I did a lot of things which are going much easier if you have a national director. Besides I was learning about pageant system, since it was absolutely new to me, reading relative sources, talking to experienced people. World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?

Honestly, I don’t remember. Sometimes I fight with my inner perfectionist and I criticize myself for inconsiderable things. At the same time I’m trying not to focus on it, because it was already done and better to move forward and not to repeat it. What I won’t definitely do is to drink tap water in other country. Never again. Under any circumstances *laughing*. World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?

Drank tap water. Okay, seriously, this is what I have no idea about. Before I even landed I decided not to pay attention to anyone in term of competition. I didn’t care what dresses they wore, what they said to others. Because I was focused on myself. Others mistakes won’t help me to become a better version of myself and of course won’t help me to win and I am not a judge to evaluate someone’s performance. World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience? That’s what I actually do. I work as a model in Prague and play in amateur Russian theatre. Generally, we prepare not only a play itself, but technical, financial, promotional, organizational part. So after each premiere we feel like we climbed Mount Everest.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2019 as a Queen? Fortunately my union with new title has just begun and I have a lot of plans to do and already some things behind. Miss Global Organization works on further charity events, so our royal court is planning to attend them. Since it’s still under maintenance I cannot tell you the details but it’s about to happen very soon.

World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? Wikipedia page. But seriously, I want one day to be that mother who will teach her children to choose their way, to live their dreams, just to give them this right to choose. How to treat other people, how to take responsibility and value each other. We took something from our ancestors and keep living in our successors. To raise kind and happy people is a nice seed to sow.
