I am a strong woman in nature. I have my own opinion and I stay firm with my judgement. I am a very hardworking person too. I strike for perfection in work therefore I obtained my highest education in life with full scholarship. I believe in my own faith and I control with my own destiny. I am a philanthropist in nature. I love children and I wish to spend my life to promote cervical cancer, help the signals mothers and bring more joy to children especially orphans. Besides my serious character, I do have a sense of humor that give me an advantage to connect people and build networking easily. People trust me and I never fail those people who entrusted me. I appreciate what I have in life and I always extend my gratitude to people who helped me in my life before. Because of my positive attitude and live within the moral that bring me to have a poll of long term friends. World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you? Woman empowerment is a big jargon. Very often many people abuse this word “women empowerment”. Woman empowerment is also a way to reduce patriarchy in the society to allow more chances for women to shine in workforce , public speaker, politicians, education, sports and many more industries. Woman empowerment also reduce discrimination and outcast in term of races, status, unfortunate and minority group of women. We allow them to shine in their own capability and provide opportunities for them to survive in the society. Women empowerment is to make every woman shine and feel confident in them when they feel they are being appreciated. They treasure their life more and they feel joy to live with purpose. Women empowerment is also a form of human right. It is to allow women to stand up and speak up to fight the battle of sexual harassment and inequality status in their society. A strong human right policy in the country will combat the masculine to empower women to live with their dignity and respect. Women empowerment is to build more women leaders in the world to be the good role models to lead the world with good examples in different ways. Women empowerment influence is far more greater than we can imagine especially in social media platform. Hence, it is also simpler the women influencers to spread more positive energy to the world that can promote world peace. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history. I came to Lumière with a surprise. I never thought of pageantry when I was young. I m a mother of two and busy with work just like any of the ordinary women. One fine day I came across the audition poster was posted in my NGO group chat. I took a while to think whether should I join? The women empowerment certainly drew my attention and wonder how it taste like when I m already 42 years old mature lady. Though I look 10 years younger of my age. Haha. When I told my family members that I am participating a meaningful Mrs beauty pageant contest. Err my mum dropped her jaw, my dad almost fell down from the chair, my sister said “what”? My cousin brothers said :”Yayy! Shien go for it.” My children hood friends will hah? Huh ? What! My kindergarten friend low Pui ling will wonder is this you? because Shana Yong wee Shien is a nerd. During college time all my friends “ponteng” but I said cannot, must study. My ex colleagues from nestles, my current colleagues from Hong leong bank and all my lovely mummies social circle will wonder in this FB? Some people who know me well will certainly drop their eyes. I master the skills of entrepreneur as well as corporate world. In FI is a very serious industry that we need to up hold the highest reputation, integrity and trust. How can the beauty pageant associate to this. I can tell you at least in Lumière international organization, all the beauty MRS Queens are highly qualified. Beauty is far more than just the pretty outlook, I believe everyone agrees. I am so introvert and never active in social media and now this beauty pageant contest force me to learn how to social , haha I certainly learn a lot in this beauty pageant n it is not easy to be crowned. The judging criteria is very stringent. World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant? If you ask me this question the answer will be very awkward with touching heart of my initiative. My main motive behind in participating in this beauty pageant is to bring back the crown for a boy who is less than a year old in fighting a rare disease is called Diamond Blackfan Anemia bone marrow disease and my girl friend who is fighting with cervical cancer. I wish to spread the cervical cancer is on the rise according to the latest statistic shows women died in cervical cancer in every 4 minutes in Asia Pacific. It is caused by the multi sexual partners within men and women. It is alarming and my friend is one of the victims when her husband left her because she has cervical cancer and yet she still donate one seat of my pageant contest. Elijia and Vicky, I brought back the crowns for you. You are my main motive to be here to crown to spread the awareness among children and women in the society. Furthermore , The inspiration of being a beauty pageant that empower me to promote education and financial wealth whereby knowledge is power and financial is essential for women to succeed. With my strong education background and my profession in finance and banking will be a good woman leader in this beauty platform to promote women empowerment confidently without fear. World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title? I chose to compete with my current title simply because I promised to bring back my crown n title to my girls friend who is suffering in cervical cancer. World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about? My pageant system originated from Singapore. The founder is Justina Quek Siew Bee. For those who are unfamiliar with Lumière international beauty pageant possibly because in KL there are few more pageantry group. Other than that, Lumière international has been in the market for many years and they are still standing very strong internationally. World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition? Judging criteria are personality , characteristic, catwalk, Q&A, stage performance and charity work. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition. I enjoyed the journey to be crowned. The excited moment still remain fresh in my mind. It is not only compete with skin deep beauty it is also compete with your kindness, determination, well behave, your eloquent, persistent and sincerity. We must be able to face difficulties and challenges to overcome the competition and of course our leadership skills. All aspects of women will be concentrated or condensed into a competition beauty pageant journey that we are being judged without you even realizing it. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for. My international platform now have shift my paradigm from beauty served above oneself to world peace after I started to open up my FB social media to the world. I found that people are very happy to see me and we have so much issues in different countries. As I go along I hope I will be the first Asian beauty pageant to join united nation to serve the nations to promote world peace. World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title? Social media definitely. My wining pageantry news were picked up by MSNnews, yahoo.sg, yahoo.my, lowyat.net, Malay Mail. World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements? My biggest achievement in life is to have 2 lovely boys. They are 9 & 14 this year. I m happy they are growing well and they as smart boys. In my academic achievement I achieved my highest academic in Doctor of Philosophy (Business). This is in full scholarship that I am so proud of. And now I m the queen. I feel my life is complete and I appreciate what I have. I m being blessed. World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls? My humbly, every year there will be a unique queen to be crowned and I m the lucky star of the night. I dare not boost myself as I remain low key as my principal in life. However I believed I myself I have the charm, the charisma, the wisdom, the beauty, the elegant , the sexy, the personality and characteristics that shine through me without purposely doing it just because of beauty pageant and my answers are so sincere that wasn’t a prepared script just for the pageant contest. Behind the scene I am also carry the same that make me outshine from the fellow contestants. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner. I was in tears in my heart with over joy and shocked of course. I couldn’t believe they chose me but yet I must have the confidence I am the winner of the night. So the mixture of feelings until I was speechless to express how thankful I was and how happy I was and how fortunate I was. I am so blessed and I will not fail the world who love me d so much that I wish I will win the international round in March 2020 this year to be the first Asian queen to be crowned as Mrs Global Universe 19/20 to be the first Asian queen to work for united nation. World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen? A beauty queen is a social role model. She carries a lot of weight to influence men and women. She must be someone that have the caliber to rule the world in a positive energy. She must be someone that people respect her the most because of her philanthropic spirit, her beauty that attract the positive and healthy energy, her mindset that be able to influence the weak and vulnerable one. Her leadership skills that she is able to project the quality skills that she is one of the rare species ( I called it limited edition). World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life? It opens up my introvert self tremendously. I feel I have a lot of duties to carry out and it affects my life because I m the social idol now. People look up on me and follow me. I feel the sense of achievement and fulfillment that give me the recognition and confirmation I m the one. World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image? Certainly we need to keep up our beauty image no matter how this is a beauty pageant platform. My body language and gesture will bring up my self esteem. I will upkeep my beauty look because I know my fans love me. They love the way I m and this self esteem is more than my own self. World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel? I m feeling lovely and incredible thanks and gratitude. I feel that people are following my positive mindset and action which I m happy because I managed to influence people in righteousness. Stay modest and kind , all those virtuous superior quality will return to us in timeless. World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over? Eye contact, my powerful voices, my beauty and nature charm, my fidelity and my sincerity to gain trust and fond in judges’ hearts. World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition? I am an extremely well organized person with efficiency. I watched, I searched and I learnt fast in every single round and I never underestimate my friendly peers. I stayed focus and self motivated a lot to pass through all rounds with excellent marks. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk? T pose. Eloquent and feminine poses are important when u walk on the stage. Beauty smile and eye contact are always important during the walk to keep your human touch with audiences and judges all the time without over doing it but be yourself. The walk will be stunning when u have the confidence. The elegant walk will just express beautifully. You are beautiful. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress? This is a very important round. We must be able to select the gown that can carry out your body figure in an elegant sexy way. We must know our body figure well so that the gown will fit our figure and our figure speak our beauty because body is something unique that only me own it. So this gown colour , design, cutting, material are all blended into one piece of beautiful art. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview? To speak the truth then only u can be consistent at all time. Be natural and be yourself. People can judge you during the interview and u will never feel lost of words when you are genuine. World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it? I really did not have any mistake that I really need to redo n fix it. Thanks god for my well preparation way ahead. That is really my character. World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest? Well, perhaps I over heard their speech were extra lengthy which it was not required, some dance during the walk which is redundant to catch the wrong attention, some may not follow the instructions from the organizer. World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience? Yes certainly. That is our traditional kebaya catwalk. I m loving it. I love catwalk and modeling which is something I only able to experience in my 40s. Never be too late. Just enjoy the moment of being a lovely queen. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen? As mentioned of the above, I wish to be the first Asian Mrs Global Universe to participate in united nation to drive more philanthropy activities and promote world peace. On top of that I wish to do my life journey reality show if I have the chance to be the winner to carry away the crown as Mrs Global Universe 19/20. World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? I wish to be the legacy as first Asian queen Mrs Global Universe to be the member of united nation to promote world peace!
