World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?
Women Empowerment means living a life with purpose. When a soul empowers the whole personality that is the real human empowerment for me. Uplifting the humankind and promoting confidence in other women by helping each other is women empowerment.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.
This is my first pageant journey and indeed has been a beautiful experience in both personal and professional aspect. Every day, I learn from my fellow participants and other folks associated with pageantry world. It taught me to give society beyond appreciation or recognition, and the sense of satisfaction is immense by doing so. I have walked runway to promote improved sanitation and hygiene in schools, and proceeds from that event helped in building sanitation facilities for Girl's High School in rural areas of South India. I was approached by HDEF to support their green movement in India to plant trees and save the planet from increasing climatic change. It has changed my whole perspective of empowering humankind.
World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?
I wanted to become a fashion designer and fashion is an art. There was a constant instinct to be known as a fashion influencer. That was my biggest drive to participate in my first pageant.I also competed in pageant because my platform - 'Know your skin' could be promoted better to raise awareness on skin diseases due to auto immune and genetic disorder. Since I am also artistic, I also want to do art therapy for special need children and adults.

I chose to compete in my current title because of the system that helps to enrich one's life with their dreams, passions and achievements, to add experiences and become a source of strength to make a difference in your family and community. I had also walked in fashion shows for Peruvian Fashion designer - Juan Jose Saenz Ferreyros Couture in South Asian wedding show - Finale. My biggest achievement in one year has been to represent my talent of speed painting at state and national level. Being state title holder and representing my state at various public events, I have learned a lot and see a newer version of myself which is itself is a great achievement. Behaving like a queen is a work. It’s not just about wearing crown and looking beautiful. It’s more about how you are inside and giving back to community by spreading kindness and empowering humankind. It is a crown of glory and pride together with lot of responsibilities.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?
Competing in pageant has helped me in becoming a fashion influencer that I always wanted to do. I never imagined it could bring a huge impact in the way I think or live. There is a huge difference than before when I act or help others. I influence others to do the right thing and giving back to community. I suggest all girls and women should participate at least in one pageant in their lifetime and experience the positive changes that brings in life.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your self-esteem and body image?
I feel more confident and stronger than before which has given a new height to my self-esteem.
World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?
Being a woman, who doesn't love attention and that's something I do! But there is a very thin line in crossing the obsession which should be avoided. The focus should be on utilizing the crown and finding a purpose with it.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?
My stage strategy to win the judges over is confidence and a lot of confidence. Confidence is directly proportion to beauty on face. Score has greater weight on how contestant feels on stage than appearance. Everyone is prepared in terms of look, but confidence is a thing that makes lot of difference on stage presentation.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?
I started my preparation for talent round and my looks in a short span of time. The competition was too tough in the category I participated. I knew one thing that I wanted to bring something unique out of me on the stage during talent round and hence I chose speed painting to do.Speed painting is a very challenging task as it requires to complete painting within stipulated time in minutes.I completed nearly 500 brush strokes on 40 inches of canvas with three to four different techniques in 3 minutes at state level and in 2 minutes at national level. I painted 'Statue of Liberty' at state and 'Krishna' at national. I wore Designer Dream Collection showstopper gown from NYFW 2019. I worked very hard for toning my body by visiting gym every day. There were hours spent preparing speech and answers for questionnaire round. The question I was asked by judges - 'If you wouldn't have been Manali Anand, what would you have been and why?’. I answered politely and honestly - 'I love my myself as I am but given a chance, I would had been Indra Nooyi (ex-CEO of Pepsi co) because she is my inspiration to look up for being a powerful woman and a right shadow of leadership.'
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?
Watch lot of videos from you tube and practice on hard surface with heels because your body has to get use to sway and it can be achieved by practicing every day.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?
My tip for choosing right pageant dress is to flaunt your best part of body with elegance, style and striking a right pose. It should certainly match one's personality, to carry and slay it in a right way on stage.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?
Believe in yourself and be genuine to everyone.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?
One mistake that I did was to find about the pageant system very late in the game. I wish I could have known about it before and had more time to prepare.
World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?
Self-doubt is the biggest mistake by girls after registering into pageant. Everybody has it but they should work to realize the reason for participation and crack it.
World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?
In the past I walked for some known designers and started getting more modeling and acting opportunities after winning crown.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen?
I do have some modelling and NGOs collaborations in 2020. Apart from that, I certainly want to give back to community by helping and promoting some critical causes of society. I plan to start art therapy for special need children and adults.Doing speed painting upside down and flipping it for a new perspective has taught me that our lives are like a work of art. We all deserve a fresh perspective every now and then.
World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?
The legacy I want to leave behind is to inspire young girls to accept positivism. I also want to inspire girls to imbibe leadership skills as women still make less than 10% in corporate higher levels.
Life is enhanced by giving, sharing and opening the heart space. As a title holder, true reward is in the lives that you have touched.
