World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself. I am Letelle S. Perez and I was born in the year 1998 in the City called Danao. My parents, Leonor S. Perez and Olimpio M. Perez Jr. has raised me with love, cultural awareness, hospitality and respect to people and religion. My four siblings treated me like a baby, though I'm not the youngest. How they cared for me is beyond priceless. My sister-in-laws, brother-in law, nephews and niece makes my life more colorful and cheerful. My family usually calls me as their "tabebe". I thank God for giving me a beautiful family. I am currently working as a Passenger Service Agent at Mactan Cebu International Airport. Working in an airline industry is great opportunity for me to meet different kinds of people. The thing which is weird about me is I can't sleep without a mosquito net on my feet. I have an attitude of a great great fighter. Above all, I am very much blessed by God and I thank Him for that.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?
Women empowerment for me means freely doing the things you want that can influence good to other people. You have to be a responsible woman to your people and your country.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.
All through high school and college, I focused myself in joining beauty pageants and festival queen competitions. My first ever pageant was Little Miss Cambanay 2009, but I did not make it, I did not win the pageant. But still people pushed me to give it another shot. So , I decided to grab another opportunities. I joined Karansa Festival Queen but then again I failed not just once but twice and on my third attempt I finally made it I was crowned as Karansa Festival Queen 2015. And in the year 2016 during sinulog festival in Cebu City, Danao City participated and since I won the Karansa Festival Queen 2015, I have to represent my self as Danao City&'s Sinulog Festival Queen. I actually enjoyed every beat of the sound as I was dancing my Sto. Niño with me. A year after the sinulog I was crowned as Miss Airline Management 2017 with 7 awards then many great opportunities has come my way. But after all those failures and success I've come to realize that it's the journey with a purpose which makes life interesting rather than the destination. Life is really about living your heart's desires.
World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?
When I was young most of the people have seen potential in me and pushed me to join beauty pageant but in my shell I am coated with a lot of fears and concealed myself from the negative judgement, I always think about other people’s criticism and keeping an eye to my actions that can ruin my name but there comes a realization I suddenly burst myself out from that shell showing my fighting spirit. I've escaped from my negative thoughts and upraised against criticism. So I decided to start grabbing opportunities. All through high-school and college, I loved competing in beauty pageants. Even though I fail sometimes, at the end of the competition, I always felt more confident because it felt like I was being celebrated for being myself. Life is not about chasing it's about living. Never ever doubt yourself. In fact, it's the journey which makes life interesting rather than the destination. You will never know what life lies ahead if would never try and this inspires me to do my first pageant.
World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?
I choose to compete for my current title because ever since I always doubted myself. In my shell I am coated with a lot of fears and concealed myself from the negative judgement, I always think about other people’s criticism and keeping an eye to my actions that can ruin my name but there comes a realization I suddenly burst myself out from that shell showing my fighting spirit. I've escaped from my negative thoughts and upraised against criticism. Being chosen by our National Director Queen Mitzie Gil and my mentor Queen Eurresse who are both Mrs. Asia Pacific Winners had also given me one lifetime chance to compete for this pageant. So, I decided to grab the opportunity and to prove to other people that I will because I can.
World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?
This pageant is the voice for all ladies who wanted to prove of their worth being and responsibilities to the world. This pageant enlightens the minds of every citizen to help one another, inspire one another and stay close to God Almighty for we are all thankful for the blessings that we had each day. This is not just an ordinary pageant for beauty, but a pageant for beauty with a cost; a cost to help build a stronger nation.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition? Production, Swimwear, National Costume, and Evening Gown.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.
It was totally fun coz we've visited many islands in Batam Indonesia, exploring unusual food, learning other countries cultures. It always felt like we are not competing, we are actually exploring and making great memories. My experience in Singapore/Indonesia are beyond measurable.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.
"Health and emergency-care platform for the elderly and disabled people" This is my chosen platform because my heart is really into serving the elderly and disabled people. They deserve care and attention. The elderly has long been neglected as the addressee of health promotion activities. So now, or even before I already started giving my care and attention to them. I know this is quite challenging for me but with the help of those who are on higher positions, we can make things possible. I have to tap and coordinate with our government office to support my platform and make a difference to our community.
World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?
Last July 07, 2019 I did a charity work in our community. I did a feeding program, giving a little joy of happiness to the children. And this coming August 2019 I will be giving goods to elderly people. I always wanted to serve my people especially those who are in need and of course I want to have a sense of purpose in my community.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements? Miss Airline Management 2017 Karansa Festival Queen 2015 Mutya ng Kabataan 2014 World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?
First is praying silently asking His powerful guidance, giving my best shot in every segment, giving an eye to eye contact, and showing to them that I have my unique ramp.
World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?
Just like a fingerprint we have our own uniqueness. Each one of us is uniquely created by God. Despite of our physical appearances, beauties, traits, religions and cultures we are all unique but I have a winning attitude of a great fighter within me that every girl should possess for her stand out and to never give up.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.
I was shock and feel so blessed because I honestly didn't really expect it. To think I'm the smallest of all the candidates. But Sñr. Sto. Niño allowed it to happen.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?
When we talk about Beauty Queen, it's not just about having a beautiful face or how smart you are it's all about having a good heart to serve because it takes a lot of responsibility.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?
It really helped me to manage my time because our schedule there is very hectic, you have to be on time. Learning other countries cultures. Most importantly it helped me to always have faith in yourself and Him because we can't do anything without His powerful and glorious heart.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your self-esteem and body image?
It helped me to always believe in myself that despite of our differences, we are all unique.
World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?
Unexplainable, mixed feeling because I still can't believe that people believed in my ability and got inspired by my fighting spirit. Being an inspiration to others takes a lot of responsibility. You must be a good influencer to the them. And always be the Queen with a good heart.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?
First is you have to do the basic duck walk, put a book above your head and chin up. You have to repeat it until you learn how to walk with confidence.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?
Choose a dress that perfectly fits your skin color, reflects your personality, and choose a fabric that would complement you. Above all, you have to carry your dress with confidence and always think that you are beautiful.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?
Always prepare your mind, heart and soul. Be calm and confident with yourself. Most importantly don't forget to pray because He can make things possible.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?
I honestly did not prepare that much even diets I did not do because I'm very busy with my work. The only thing that I prepared is my heart and soul for my passion which is the pageantry. And I also asked God to bless me because without His glorious and powerful heart I can't do anything.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?
Self-doubts. I always doubted myself that I can't do this, I can't that because I always think I'm not as tall, beautiful and smart like other candidates. But after the competition I realized that we have our own uniqueness just like a fingerprint. Each one of us is uniquely created by God despite of our physical appearances, beauties, and traits. We are all unique. We just have to believe in ourselves because you will never know what life lies ahead if would never try.
