Platform: House Bill 3403 preventing workplace bullying Years competed: 1 Countries visited: Mexico Likes: exploring new places and not knowing what lies ahead. Dislikes: peoples behavior who bully others Status: Married World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.
I am a mother of 3 beautiful children who keep me very busy. My youngest son picked up my legacy of being top ten in Texas for equestrian. My oldest son is starting the first years of high school and we could not be more proud of him. Last but not least it little Brooklyn who is 2 years old and runs the house. She keeps all of us busy and on our Toes.
My carrier and degree is in early childhood education. I have been teaching for 10 years now in 4th, kindergarten, and 1st grade. Kindergarten is my absolute favorite because you give the gift of learning writing, reading, and self expression. It’s so rewarding taking a child that has no knowledge of the alphabet and then they graduate kindergarten reading and writing.
I have most recently takin a intest in legislation and law because I was a victim of teacher targeted bullying. I have used this as my platform to give me courage and strength and Pursue my purpose to protect all teachers in the future. I drafted a bill with the help of my best friend Caroline Davis and state rep Philip Cortez. We took the bill to Texas state capital and filed it in the Texas house a public education. Because of the pageants, I gain the courage and strength to testify on my bill in front of the house of public education committee. My bill was voted out unanimously onto the house calendar at the state capital within 24 hours of my testimony.
Because legislation does not start up again till 2020 We are unable to push the bill any further. Being in the Capital and in the court rooms inspired me to Pursue law school at St. Mary’s University in Texas. I received my acceptance letter for fall 2019 and I will conquer my masters in education law.
I still wanted to continue my dream of helping others while I attended law school and teaching.
One day Unexpectedly, God cross path with myself and Weston Jenkins. The opportunity to help others find joy and happiness in their lives after facing difficulties truly hit home for me and I knew at that moment I was being called to help. Weston’s vision for DOUSA started out as a simple notion to make people who have disabilities feel like they can do anything they want to do while putting aside their worries and stress concerning their situation.
Weston’s Relentlessness at pursuing his dream to help others inspired me to help him so he can make his dream not only come true, but help make it nationally known so He’s not limited to just helping people here in Texas but he could help everyone Out there who needs him.
In June I am hosting a fishing tournament and all the money raised will go to helping DOUSA and Weston accomplish their dreams of helping others.
I will continue the rest of my life Making a difference in my community and helping others achieve their dreams. I am just one person and one voice, but one voice speaks volumes above a crowd. With God standing by my side I will conquer the world beneath my feet And help others conquer the world beneath theirs. World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you? It was the most amazing experience being with so many Phenomenal women. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for. World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your selfesteem and body image? Pageants helped me to know that I am beautiful as I am and I don’t need to change anything because it’s the confidence and the self-worth that makes me beautiful.
