World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.
Mother to wonderful two wonderful boys and a loving wife.
World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?
The term “empowered woman” is a very controversial term. If a woman is too headstrong, she will never find harmony with her other half and never find true happiness.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history. I took part in the pageant Miss Bulgaria 2003 ( win Miss Charm ), "SUPER MODEL Bulgaria"(win Midel of magazine parallelan) and Miss FTV Diamond HONGKONG ( 1rst please Miss Ftv Hongkong and Miss Ftv for Bulgaria ) . The whole experience was full of positive emotions that I will carry with me my whole life.
World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant? I’ve always loved the radiance of beauty pageants. Beautiful women wearing ball gowns, hair all done up and tiaras; it’s like something out of a fairy tale. And to be able to be part of a fairytale, even for a little while, is motivating in itself.
World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?
As a family woman now with responsibilities to my family, the decision to take part in the Mrs Bulgaria was a small hurdle to overcome but worth it. The emotions and excitement took me back to the beginnings of my modeling career.
World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?
The pageant has a number of parts, one such being the evening wear with ball gowns and jewelry. There was even a part where a close friend or relative gave a short introduction to you so that the judges could get to know you.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?
Only the judges know the criteria. I presume it is based on actions, personality, overall performance and lastly on ‘beauty’. After all, it’s “Mrs” Bulgaria and not everyone is the beauty they once were.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.
The atmosphere at rehearsals was very friendly and the organization of the whole pageant on top form. I met some great people with whom I still keep in touch.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.
Unfortunately, at the moment I do not have time to work with charitable organizations as my full time occupation is a permanent make up Royal artist "PhiBrows". In this line of work, I have the opportunity to help with look and their feel their best, women who may have gone through operations, have burns or other problems that disrupt the natural pigment of their skin. It’s a small thing, but I do it with joy and love helping women feel good.
World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?
I have not done any appearances since winning my title, but I anticipate some in the near future.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?
My proudest achievement are my sons and my wonderful family. Apart from this, I am more than happy with the success that I have found in my career. This is enough for me!
World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?
To be myself, genuine and unfiltered. No one likes fakes.
World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?
I think someone with an outside view would be better suited to answer this question. It would be unhumble of me to brag about myself.
World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.
When they called my name, apart from great joy, I felt a deep pleasure of a job well done. So many unforgettable emotions…
World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?
To me being a beauty queen means setting a good example of how beauty can reside in each and every one of us.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?
I met many new people through the pageant and was exposes to many new ideas and ways of thinking. For me, this is a personal development in it’s own way.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your self esteem and body image?
You don’t need to win a beauty pageant to have self esteem. When you look after your physical and mental health, self esteem and confidence come from within. We only have one body and it’s in our best interest to look after it as best we can. When we do, it looks after us in return.
World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?
I am honored and proud to be able to be an inspiration for others, yet I am a firm believe that everyone has their own unique way of shining and should try find their own uniqueness.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?
To spend some time breaking in your new heels before the pageant which will help you feel more confident when walking the runway – especially as they’re taking photos of you from all angles!
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?
A good dress will extenuate all of the positive aspects of your body and ideally conceal all of those that you are not so confident in highlighting. It should, of course, also be comfortable!
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?
Be genuine, smile and remind yourself that not passing the interview is not the end of the world.
World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?
All year round I try to maintain my physical form, I take care of my hair, my skin and body as whole, so I don’t have anything particular I do before a pageant. You should look after your well being always, not just for special occasions.
World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?
No, and if there were it’s already in the past. We live in the present and must look to the future.
World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?
There are those that want to win no matter the cost, others are too nervous and it shows, and some who don’t feel comfortable being in the pageant as a whole. All of these things only serve to hinder the amazing experience.
World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?
I have a long, successful history with modelling. I have worked and continue to work as a model, and have been featured in numerous TV adverts. I had the offer for a leading role in a French film once, but other priorities were more important at that time. Who knows what the future holds, perhaps I will have the pleasure of that experience too one day.
World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2019 as a Queen?
Like a true queen, I will savour and enjoy every minute of this wonderful life and continuing loving my royal family 😉
World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?
Everyone wants to leave a legacy, I only hope that that which I leave behind will be helpful to those that come after me Director of Mrs. BULGARIA Megi Savova World Class Beauty Queens Magazine would like to say thank you to Iveta Kostadinova Mrs. Top Model Bulgaria 2018 for this wonderful interview.
