World Class Princess Magazine: Please tell us about yourself.
I am a straight A student, I just completed 5th grade and I’m excited about starting middle school this August. I live with my mom, dad, my two older sisters and my wonderful dog Teddy. I have an amazing life. World Class Princess Magazine: What does women Empowerment means to you?
Woman Empowerment means different things to so many. But for me it means that I am able to help girls like myself to reach our goals and achieve our dreams. Sometimes helping one another makes the success even more rewarding because we did it together.
World Class Princess Magazine: Tell us about your pageant history:
My very first pageant was in 2013 where I won the title of Little Miss Sweetheart Pembroke Pines, 2015 Young Jr. Miss Pembroke Pines. 2017 was a big year for me as I became Little Miss Citrus and at the end of that year I won the title of Miss World’s Perfect Preteen. In 2018 I was awarded the title of Miss Preteen Florida United States and I am currently your Miss Preteen Florida Galaxy 2019.
World Class Princess Magazine: What inspired you to do your first pageant?
I was 5 years old when I heard my preschool director tell my mother about an upcoming City of Pembroke Pines pageant. As soon as I got in the car I told her that I wanted to do it! My mom signed me up the next day and therefore, began my love of pageantry.
World Class Princess Magazine: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?
My mother and I have heard so many great things regarding the Galaxy pageants and I’ve wanted to be a part of it for the last couple of years. When we heard that Florida had a director, we jumped at the opportunity. What better state to represent at International’s then my beautiful sunshine state?
World Class Princess Magazine: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?
Galaxy is a pageant that brings girls like myself from all over the world together. We all have the same mission to make a difference not only in this world but beyond our Galaxy through volunteering and giving back to your communities.
World Class Princess Magazine: What are you being judged on during the competition?
During the competition they will judge us on gown, fun fashion, beauty and my personal favorite, an interview with a panel of 5 judges.
World Class Princess Magazine: Tell us about your experience during the competition.
I love all parts of competition, but my favorite part is getting to know the rest of the contestants and building a bond with them. This last competition at Florida Galaxy was no different. I have so much respect and admiration for everyone who steps on that stage even those who are competing against me.
World Class Princess Magazine: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.
I have devoted myself as well as my entire family to give back to the CURE. The foundation helped my family when my cousin Abraham was diagnosed with childhood cancer. I know how much this organization helped my family through his battle. By helping this organization I continue to honor my cousin who lost his battle with cancer. I hope to restore faith and hope in other families so we can one day find a cure together and no one will ever lose a loved family member.
World Class Princess Magazine: What appearances have you done with your title?
Since winning this title April, I have made lots of appearances. These are a few of my favorites; I organized a donation of hygiene products for a local homeless shelter, filling over 100 bags. I delivered 25 purses filled with female products to a woman’s shelter on Mother’s Day. Spent a morning pulling and bagging invasive pathos from a natural area at a nearby beach. However, my favorite by far was spending a day at a local assisted living facility putting on a party for the residents. With the help of some local pageant friends, we danced, sang and had a 4th of July Fashion Show. The love I received from the residents was amazing and I can’t wait to go back.
World Class Princess Magazine: What are some of your achievements?
My academic journey is one that I am very proud of. I received Honor Roll throughout all of my years in elementary school. This past year was great! I was accepted into a summer intensive program at Joffrey Ballet in New York, elected class president by my peers, joined company at my studio and was accepted into my middle schools dance team “JV Pantherette’s”.
World Class Princess Magazine: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over?
As soon as I step foot on that runway, I keep direct eye contact with those judges, always show them what I’m made of, I’m always myself and I have the best time on stage.
World Class Princess Magazine: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?
I really don’t think that I’m much different from every other girl but if I had to pick, it would be being myself, being grateful and forever staying humble.
World Class Princess Magazine: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner.
When I heard my name being called, I couldn’t help but feel grateful, blessed and extremely accomplished that all my dedication and hard work paid off.
World Class Princess Magazine: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?
There is a responsibility that comes with being a Beauty Queen. You need to share your heart and let everyone see that beauty is from within and not just external. I never want to be known as just a beauty queen. I want people to think of me as a sweet girl who will always be a friend.
World Class Princess Magazine: How did competing in pageants helped your life?
Pageantry has brought me so much happiness in my life. I’ve met the most wonderful directors, choreographer, and friends. Today my closet friends and people that I love have been brought into my life through pageants.
World Class Princess Magazine: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel?
Anytime I can help someone it makes me feel great inside. I can return the feeling like when others inspired me. I have so many amazing women in my life who are everyday inspirations to me. These women are my mom, sisters, aunts, friends and my sister queens.
World Class Princess Magazine: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?
I think watching videos on YouTube for Miss Universe, Miss USA and other pageants help you along the way. Most importantly have confidence in yourself and practice until you have perfected your walk.
World Class Princess Magazine: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?
My tip is easy! Let your mom and coach help you choose it. Tell them what you like and what colors you love. Then, come to an agreement where you and your mom will love and can live with.
World Class Princess Magazine: What are your tips for winning interview?
I think we should all just be ourselves and let the judges really get to know you. Don’t be shy and speak from your heart and not from a script. Show them your confidence.
World Class Princess Magazine: How did you prepare for your competition?
I put aside time to practice every area of competition until I feel like I’ve somewhat mastered it. The biggest preparation for me is that the last couple of days before competition, I stop going over everything and enjoy all the moments leading up to the pageant.
World Class Princess Magazine: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?
I feel like sometimes I get in my own way and I unfortunately let others get in my head. I’ve learned to trust myself and the people who have my best interest at heart and love me.
World Class Princess Magazine: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest?
I think worrying about other contestants is a big mistake that some girls make. You should always stay focused on you and your goals. World Class Princess Magazine: Any modeling or acting experience?
I have a few years of modeling and acting experience. I have been invited the last two years to model at NYFW and Miami Fashion Week. I have worked on several commercials and print. My last commercial was for Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Award Show with DJ Khaled.
World Class Princess Magazine: What are your plans for 2019 as a Queen? I plan to now and always continue working to help find a cure for childhood cancer in any way I can. I pray that one day that cure is found.
World Class Princess Magazine: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?
I want people to remember me as a fun loving queen full of kindness, love, compassion, who always gave 100% of herself and forever stayed humble.
