World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history.

I came across Lumiere International Pageant when I using Facebook. I never though of joining any pageant contest ever since I married and with kids. I am very occupied with work and kids now because my son had type 1 diabetic. He constantly need attention for glucose reading and insulin injection. And suddenly this page pop up Lumiere International Pageant Mrs Singapore worldwide contest. I felt there was a sudden call. I told my husband about this and he said “if this is your dream why not give it a try” I did hesitated. Because I might not have enough time. I did consider for a day and decided to send in my photo. I told myself if I’m in I will give it all. If I’m not then is ok. Never do I know I was selected for interview. I was very excited, never been this excited for very long. My husband was so excited too, during the first interview he went down with me and cheer for me. I felt so blessed to have such a sweet husband. My experience was nervous while waiting and excited while I’m in. During the whole journey I learn a lot from all the contestants. We treated each other not just contestants but we are all like families member. We learn to help and take care each other.

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?

My first pageant I joined during my age of 16 year old, it was “Singapore Model” the audition was held at MediaCorp at that time. My biggest dream since young was doing catwalk on stage during fashion show. I always envy those model on television, they are tall and pretty. I wanted to be like them. I was inspired by their courage and how they bring up themselves on stage. The confident on their face and the way they walk was gorgeous. I wish I could be like them on the stage shine like a star. I am a very quiet person and I got stage fright too, during my school day I couldn’t speak in front of the class. But still I took up the courage to join the contest. During that time it was my first experience and I do not have any experience. I was called out during the very first audition. I felt really sad. But I didn’t give up. I know this is my dream. My dream will comes one day. I took up another pageant when I was during 18 year old the contest was “SHE’S THE ONE” this time I told myself I must try my best and be confident. This time I won Miss Photogenic and Second runner up. My journey don’t stop here.
