I was born and raised in Talisay City, Cebu, Philippines. I’ve always been active, I spent my childhood until college years competing internationally in Swimming and Chess. I graduated with Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in University of Cebu, Philippines. But my passion for wellness and promoting a healthier lifestyle lead me to my fitness career. I currently own my company Vertex Fitness LLC. I’ve been a Functional Training Specialist and Certified Personal trainer for 12 years now and a Zumba Instructor. I am also a professional performing Oriental Dancer(Bellydancer). I personally practice yoga and meditation on a daily basis. I enjoy hiking, beach walks and watching the sunset as well. World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you? Women Empowerment for me is being able to encourage other women to be in their highest potential. That each of us women are individually unique and have different set of skills and strengths that would make a difference and create an impact in the society. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your pageant history. I joined Miss Asia USA 2017, I didn’t place. And I was encouraged to join Miss Asia USA 2019-2020 for the second time. World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant? I was inspired about the idea that pageantry is a good tool to amplify my purpose and advocacies. World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title? Being an Asian-American , I wanted to represent and showcase how beautiful the Philippines culturally as one of the Asian countries. World Class Beauty Queens: To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about? Miss Asia USA is a glamorous multi cultural pageant showcasing all the Asian Countries. You can be an origin resident of your own country , in tourist visa or student visa to be in the competition. World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition? The contestants are judged in different categories such as the National costume competition Swimsuit Competition, Evening Gown Competition and Effective Communication skills. Above all the judges are looking for an overall impression, sense of confidence, walk, posture, grace, elegance, personality, stage presence and sense of attractiveness. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition. It was truly a beautiful and loving experience to be in the competition. For 3 months training with my fellow delegates I’ve learn a lot from other Asian culture. I was so inspired by other women’s story and life experiences that are so relatable. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for. I am very diverse in making myself of use in all platforms but bringing dance fitness to various charity campaigns such Positive Body image campaign, anti-bullying and depression in teenagers crisis means a lot to me. I do get invited to high-schools campuses to promote this awareness. I’m also involved in various charities such as the American Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Awareness, Alzheimer’s Awareness thru my passion for dance and fitness. World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title? After I was crowned I’ve been to a lot of events such as: - Judging for Miss Eastern Europe 2019-2020 - International American University Holiday Luncheon -Women of Elegance Event in Newport Beach - Hollywood Producers Night - Hollywood Global Film Festival - Pre-Oscar Hollywood VIP parties - Luxury Hollywood Gala for Oscars - Rolls Royce Annual Lunar Party In Beverly Hills -Vietnamese TET Festival for Annual Lunar Party - US veterans National Salute BBQ Day - Visiting Senior in assisted living and Alzheimer’s Facility. -Top Outstanding Pilipino Awarding Ceremony World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements? - Top Outstanding Pilipino in America for 2020 - Young Ambassador of Goodwill Awardee 2020 by California Legislature Assembly I garnered 6 awards on the Miss Asia USA 2019 - Miss Congeniality - Miss Popularity - Miss Friendship - People’s Choice Award - Best In SwimSuit - Best in Evening Gown World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls? Being authentic and knowing passionately my purpose in joining the pageant helps me maintain my warm ,engaging , friendly energy throughout the series of competition. World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about the moment your name was called out as the winner. I didn't expect to be crowned as Miss Asia USA 2019, but when they called my name to be a winner. I was going thru a lot of mixed emotions and the same time it was shocking and a joyous moment, it felt like I was in a movie especially the rain of confetti was pouring on stage. World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen? Being a Beauty Queen for me is able to use my title for greater good. I considered being a Beauty Queen as an Ambassador of Goodwill. To impact, to influence and to motivate people to serve and connect in the community. World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life? Considering that this is only my second pageant, I do appreciate all the lessons I’ve learned that are so helpful and applicable in my life such as fully recognizing and understanding my own weaknesses and strengths. And to continuously learn and work on my Personal Growth, Communication skills and Confidence. Competing taught me how to handle stress, pressure and disappointments gracefully especially in my daily life. World Class Beauty Queens: How did pageants helped your self esteem and body image? Growing up being bullied as young girl, it was challenging for me to be able to speak in public and struggling to be in front of many people. Pageantry helped me to overcome my stage fright and allowing my voice to heard. It taught to be more an effective communicator and poised. World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel? To be able to inspire all the other girls is very fulfilling, I feel honored and grateful to motivate them to be persevering and hardworking in following their dreams. World Class Beauty Queens: What is your on stage strategy to win the judges over? I think knowing my purpose in joining the pageant kept me relax and be comfortable with my own self as I am being judged. Because I was having fun and enjoying the moment, I was able to keep my connection with the judges and audience by smiling and showcase my self in every category of the competition. World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition? I learned in this competition that no matter how prepare you can be there's always gonna be challenges and random malfunctions. So I mentally prepared my self thru meditation. I work out as well to keep my physique. I trained with my pageant and runway coaches to be constantly learning about my walk and poise. I met up my designers in advance to help to fully prepared my gowns and costume. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk? Constantly learning and practicing months before pageant is a must. It is important that there's someone watching you and help you discover the best method appropriate in each category. Consulting an expert or pageant runway coach helps polish and overcome the hiccups. I’m blessed to have Javier Ortega as my runway coach. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress? Choosing a pageant dress was challenging for me but I think its important that you connect with the style and color. It's very important to also showcase your elegance and poise while wearing the dress. Also consider how your dress will affect your walk. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview? Reading variety of topics and current events constantly, helps a lot in gaining knowledge. Practicing meditation and breathing also helps so you can be articulate and relax in answering the interview. World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it? I wouldn't change anything I've done in the pageant. I love my overall experienced in the entire day. World Class Beauty Queens: What other mistakes are made by girls during the contest? Based on my observation I think not having fun during the competition is common mistake from most girls. World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience? I did print and online modeling for a clothing website. I've appeared in couple of music videos as one the cast. I did a cameo role in the Philippine for a movie. World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen? First and foremost I want to respect and do all my duties with the organization. Before i joined the pageant I've always been involved in the community, so my plan is to continuously serve the various charity that I am involved with and open my doors for more charitable works and other platforms that I can reach out to. World Class Beauty Queens: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? I want everyone to remember me that I’m driven and hard working in following my passion and dreams. I want to influence and touch everyone to live in a joyous and purposeful life.
