Age: 29

Zodiac sign: Scorpio

Hobbies: On my free time I enjoy volunteering, zumba, & swimming,

Platform: “Helping Hands Can Make A Difference” I believe the key in making a difference in one’s community is by getting out there and getting involved. One can do so much just by reacting out and helping out. It Doesn’t matter how small or big the help or community service you do, as long as you’re doing something it causes an effect. I know for a fact one of the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Countries visited: El Salvador and Mexico

Likes: singing, volunteering, coaching soccer, modeling, & swimming

Dislikes: Negative people and anything Spicy, and I know you might say but wait aren’t you Mexican, yes my dad is Mexican but I was born & raised in the USA and I’m not use to eating traditional spicy Mexican food. Sadly, till this day I can’t tolerate spicy food. Call me a wimp or a picky eater but I just can’t do it.

World Class Beauty Queens: Please tell us about yourself.

Well I graduated last spring from Northern Virginia Community College with an Associate of Arts Music degree. Currently I’m attending George Mason University, Where I’m working towards my Bachelor in Integrated Studies with a Concentration in the Liberal Arts for the Teaching Professions.

Besides of being a full-time student, I also teach/coach children ages 3-12yrs old’s a variety of classes at my local RECenter. Some of the classes I teach are Soccer, T-ball, & Gymnastics.

Other things I do besides going to school and working are volunteering, modeling, going to auditions and castings. Some of the shows I’ve had the privileged to audition for are American Idol and The Voice.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does women Empowerment means to you?

It means a lot because it’s a step to bringing more equality to all and as a title holder and role model its something I try to do on the daily to promote, celebrate and bring recognition to woman all over the world who contribute so much on the daily lives of people.

World Class Beauty Queens: What inspired you to do your first pageant?

As a little girl I remember watching every year the Miss Universe pageant on T.V with my dad and he would always motivate me and say I know you’re going to be walking that runway one day, I never thought he would be right, and I would be competing in pageants. My father is my biggest fan and inspiration and the person who gave me the courage to go and get into pageantry.

I competed in my first pageant back when I was 26 years old as Miss Springfield USA 2016 at the Miss Virginia USA pageant. The following year in 2017 I competed in the Miss Central Virginia USA pageant, which is a prelim to the Miss Virginia USA pageant. Right after that I had the pleasure and honor of representing my home city as Miss Springfield USA 2017 again for the second time in the Miss Virginia USA pageant.

After aging out of that system I went off to compete at the Miss Virginia Earth USA Pageant on April 22, 2018 & competed for the Elite division. To my surprise I won that title and was crowned your Elite Miss Virginia 2018. The following year 2019 I competed in the Elite division for the title of Elite Miss Dc. I was pretty fortune & I won the crown; from there I went off to compete at Nationals that took place in Las Vegas last summer.

World Class Beauty Queens: Why did you choose to compete for your current title?

After researching information on the Miss Earth Organization, I realized that it was an amazing pageant that was more than glitz and glam, it’s a pageant where young ladies have an opportunity to make a difference in their environment and community by thinking global and acting local.

World Class Beauty Queens:  To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about?

The Miss Earth USA Organization is more than a beauty pageant it’s a sisterhood of amazing women whom are Eco warrior ambassadors promoting environmental awareness within our communities. “we are beauties for a cause”.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are you being judged on during the competition?

Interview, Evening Gown, Swimwear, Environmental Project, Photogenic, Social Media, Media Interview, Runway

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your experience during the competition.

Just like all the other contestants I was nervous and anxious about competing, but it was an overall incredible experience. I loved getting to know my fellow sister queens and being able to do the service project.

World Class Beauty Queens: Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for.

My platform is “Helping Hands Can Make A Difference” and with that I was able to travel around my state of Virginia and do a lot of community service outreach. Some organizations I had the privilege in partnering up with in events are as followed:

· Partnering up with the Your Sunshine foundation whose goal is helping kids with disabilities.

· Partnering up with the Better Beach Project to do a beach clean & recycling challenge in Virginia Beach.

· Partnering up with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation at Oronoco Bay Park in Alexandria Virginia for their annual Clean The Bay Day.

· Partnering up with EcoAction Arlington by removing trash & invasive plant species in their local park.

World Class Beauty Queens: What appearances have you done with your title?

A few of the events I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of is Modelling in New York Fashion, The Girls Scouts Tree Planting Event, City of Fairfax 4th of July parade, & The Celebrate Fairfax festival .

World Class Beauty Queens: What are some of your achievements?

I would have to say Graduating High School, graduating with an Associates of Art in Music, Modelling in NYFW, & Being crowned Elite Miss DC.

World Class Beauty Queens: What makes you stand out from all those other beautiful girls?

I believe my positive spirit and will to help others makes me stand out.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did it feel to hear your name as the winner?

I was surprised and in shock, I couldn’t believe it. Honestly it’s been one of the happiest moments in my life, I felt so humbled and honored to be given this opportunity.

World Class Beauty Queens: What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen?

To me being a Beauty Queen is much more than smiling, looking pretty, and waving, it means being a positive role model. It’s a big responsibility to lead by example and to inspire others, it’s a once in a life time opportunity to make a difference and create a change.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did competing in pageants helped your life?

Its helped me a lot to grow as a young women, Unfortunately I was raised by a single father with two younger brothers so as you can tell I was in a house with only boys and I never really had a female presence in my life. Through pageants I’ve gained confidence and a beautiful sisterhood. Before pageants Id never had worn make-up and I never had walked in heels and look at me now walking the runways confidently in heels, so I must say pageants have helped me a lot to be a strong independent confident young woman.

World Class Beauty Queens: You are an inspiration to all the girls out there.  How does it feel?

It feels incredible and humbling. I’m so grateful with the opportunity I have and to be able to inspire girls warms my heart and makes me want to work harder in being a positive role model.

World Class Beauty Queens:  What is your onstage strategy to win the judges over?

Being confident and staying true to yourself. I think one does best when they stay humble and speak with their heart.

World Class Beauty Queens: How did you prepare for your competition?

I have a great director her name is Allison & she was an excellent support. She made sure I was interview ready. When it comes to the runaway portion I had to practice, practice, practice to make sure I had the walk down.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for learning better pageant walk?

I would have to say clear your mind and think confident. Shoulders back, stand tall and most importantly start slowly don’t rush it, take your time, smile and have fun.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress?

The most important thing in choosing your dress is selecting something you feel most comfortable and confident in. Also make sure to choose the style and color that best fits your figure, remember you want to go out to impress those judges so if you feel confident it will show on stage.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your tips for winning interview?

I would say make sure to prep by going online and reviewing past questions that have been asked for the system your competing in, but most importantly just take a deep breath before going in, stay calm and just be yourself. I know for a fact it can get nerve wrecking but just pretend that your talking with a family member or friend instead of overthinking it. If your stay true to yourself and answer sincerely, I guarantee you that your interview will go smoothly.

World Class Beauty Queens: What is one mistake that you've done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it?

I let my nerves get the best of me and I stumbled on the public speaking portion of the competition but although that happened, I’ve learned through that experience and grown. It’s okay to do mistakes its part of what makes us humans and all one can do is learn from them so one won’t do them again.

World Class Beauty Queens: Any other mistakes competitors should watch out for while competing?

All I can say is nobody is perfect, we all make mistakes but it’s from those mistake that we learn and grow from them. Remember although you are competing against other girls there at the end of the day you all are sisters, so if you see one struggling or in need of help you just got to be a good friend and help them in whatever they are struggling.

World Class Beauty Queens: Any modeling or acting experience?

Although I’m barely new to the pageant world, I’ve had the honor to host a modelling workshop in my home state of Virginia and I’m also excited to announce that I will be modeling in New York Fashion Week 2.0 in February of 2019 for some amazing brands like Ashley Lauren, Marc Defang, & Pixton Design Group just to name a few.

Now as to acting I personally haven’t done any profession acting but If the opportunity opens, I would definitely love to explore the acting scene.

World Class Beauty Queens: What are your plans for 2020 as a Queen?

I plan on finishing out my year by serving the community, creating awareness on environmental protect, and spreading the word about my platform.

World Class Beauty Queens:  What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?

I want people to remember me as a hard-working queen, who took the crown she had serious by devoting her year to her platform and that she never stopped being a role model within the DMV area and even after being done with my year, I still have a commitment to my community to maintain our local environment clean and sustainable.
